Just got the gen8 v2 two days ago and i wasnt able to slow crawl as good as i hoped for so i replaced the remote with a dumbo rc 6x and now its crawls so much better ,the stock remote has a bad delay and causes it to be kinda jerky its 100 percent better now its also will crawl better running it on 2s the 3s just gives it punch makes it hard to move slow in ruff spots hope this helps
I'm liking mine(also purple), and have an LED kit on the way. Stock electronics are the same as the V1, kinda twitchy, but tolerable. I'll probably run mine stock for awhile, then upgrade the electronics. Love the body! It's a pleasure to just watch in motion, or on a shelf.
Yeah, looking forward to some small upgrades. I have a Hobbywing 1080 ESC to go in. Lots of programming possiblities with that ESC so I think it would be a nice ugprade.
Thank for showing more of the real truth. Its a good unit and i would like to know more about what goes wrong with it. Its not the axc but its much better then the gen 8 1st. You are the first that i have seen to put out good info. Thank you.
That bump steer is an easy fix tons of videos on it and as for the Velcro I find if you lift in the middle of the front it’s a little easier or do the magnetic body mod it’s very easy and marks for the magnets are there already under the Velcro
Maybe covering one half of a corner with duct tape so that the velcro is a little easier once you get one corner free the rest is usually easy to remove.
enjoy the velcro while it lasts. I only got about a month of securing the body on my v1 scout before the body would fall of any time the truck even tips over. I am still looking for an alternative to the velcro. I have tried 3m dual lock but that wasnt strong enough, and I vehemently oppose using standard body posts because I like the look of no pins.
Get the body magnets from earthbound: ) when you remove the velcro there are half moon shapes for the magnets ...need 8 total. Shoo goo or E600 works great for magnet install. Hope this helsp

Why do the wheels appear by looks so hard still. Is there a difference in feel from these tires to any other tires you own The body Velcro loosens up on its grip as it’s used. Pull up from the front first always. You’ll reck the body pulling at the back
When I get a crawler I’m going to get a Traxxas TRX four or a Trx6 because redcat doesn’t really include batteries with their vehicles and all I have is Traxxas so it’s annoying switching to a different battery
That Velcro is way too hard. You might want to cut some of the Velcro away, so there's not as much holding it. I've done so much research on what was the next crawler I was going to get. I have the TRX4 Sport. My heart was set on the White TRX6 , but after reviewing and reviewing, I just bought the Red Axial Gladiator. In my view, it's much better than any of the Red Cats. But I realize we all have different feelings. I'm I diehard Traxxas guy, but the Axial Gladiator won my heart, and pulled me away from the TRX6. You did a great job of reviewing the Red Cat tho.
I don't disagree that the Axial SCX10 III is a higher quality rig, but that ignores price. It is $220 more expensive and going from $300 to $520 makes them hardly in the same ball park. If money were no object the Vanquish is the way to go, so why didn't you get one of those?
@@JrsGasolineAlley, I'll be truthful. I had not heard of the Vanquish, so I just looked at it going up against a TRX4 Sport, and for the most part, It didn't do very well for costing $600 more. After seeing that, there's no way the Vanquish is a better crawler than the Axial Gladiator. Not to mention the Gladiator is in my view is a much better looking truck. And it's $380 less than the Vanquish. The TRX6 may out crawl the Gladiator, but the Gladiator is a more realistic looking crawler, and cost about $100 less.. So I'm still very glad I bought the Axial. To this day my TRX4 Sport stock has out crawled every Red Cat that has been out with me. I feel Axial hit a homerun with the Gladiator.
Nicely Done My Friend 💯 liked 👍 and subbed 🌟 Your Channel 🤠👉 Just ordered this Gem in Green 🍏 You're walk through and run video reassured me that I have made the right choice to add to my collection, I do have a question about the front bumper mounting a RC4WD Winch to it? Also dog and rock lights in the fenders, I'm thinking about doing the light control module that includes signals front and rear, taillights with brakes, and underglow all in one kit (actually made for drift cars LOL) I think this budget "Axe" 8 v2 edition might be a good candidate for it all, any pointer's on this model would be Appreciated ✌️🤠👍 HFLPRCing (Having Fun Laughing Playing and RCing) 🌟 RCF4L 🙏 Stay Safe and Play Healthy My Friend

The magnet mounts are definitely on the to-do list. The bump steer fix there's a couple ways to do it and I'm not sure which way I'm going to go
Did the kit you got come with a battery or did you have to buy it separately?
Separately, Links are in the description to the battery and charger I use.

Hey. Can you do some day time video as well? I'm interested to see how the purple looks in day light. Thanks.
Yes for sure. Loking to do a trail video and commentary video here very soon.
Do they change the tire foams from the first version, I believe they were memory foams

maybe an easy fix would be to put tape down on the velcro that way its not as strong and has les serface area.

great review👍👍

No, 4wd only.

Looks magnet ready for the body...sounds a little loud?
Magnets are probably a good call. Might be loud or I just had the camera very close to it. Personally I didnt feel like it was loud.

@@rcjoe406 Some people say it is loud. However, it is just their massive mod 1 gears all around the transmission. It is not running dry, which is good to know.
I bought the magnet kit and its not really suited for crawling, they dont hold the body on all that well, more of a tar baby solution.
Nice dude
Thanks 🔥
Really man you scared to use some muscles hahah you won't break the velcro.
Who cares about the Velcro? I was worried about tearing the lexan body
peel the velcro off and use half the amount, or what ever feels right, velcro is cheap
Truth. I eventually went to magnets and man does that work well.

That is a whole lot of "problems" you have blamed on Redcat. How did they do that all themselves?
