This would have been PERFECT for a rocky space landscape for a video set we made! We just ended up using a gray blanket, which did the job but just looked so boring. Thank you for the tutorial, if we ever do something like that again, I know where to look!
Thanks, it did look like a mossy rock at first, with lots of holes visible but I wanted to make it look more solid and I think it turned out pretty well in the end!:)
Came over from Pearl's channel to check everything out and I must say Im absolutely amazed with your creativity as well. The rock in this video looks amazing as well as your sculptures. You have earned a sub from me mate and I look forward to future projects!
woah, this would completely fool me if I saw it on the sidewalk or something, I would need to look very closely or try to pick it up to figure out it's not real, great job!
Okay how awesome is this guy ,not only is he the father of The pearlescentmoon BUT he actually went over most comments and replied to them and liked them damn bro that’s some determination 😂😂
Awesome! This is SOOO helpful! Today I am making a giant circular stone out of a foam mattress and needed to know how to do it. I'm making the stone in front of Jesus empty tomb for an escape room experience and this is brilliant advice! Thank you!
I'm quite impress that you can turn something like some foams into a piece of rock that surprisingly look accurate. Really interested to see what other similar things you can do and good work!
You just made it to my kid's bedtime art wind-down playlist. I appreciate your daughter for recommending your channel and I see where she gets her artistic nature. 😁
The shoe polish hack is great! Thanks for that! And thanks Pearl for the recommendation! I wish my dad could speak english he would love this! I'll show it to him anyways tho. Have a great time! Greetings from Austria! 💜💜💜💜💜
Thank you, waiting for things to dry is probably where most of the time goes. At least while you're waiting you can do the things you need to do. We have a saying when one of us walks into the room... "yeah, just waiting for paint to dry":)
Ooo, Terraining! It looks amazing :) Along with foam, repainting chunks of bark can make good rocks. I've used some before for my roommate for warhammer terrain.
So here I was, scrolling to find a video to watch, I come across a post from Pearl reccomending this channel, I don't expect much, but I'm like "Eh, lets watch a video anyway and now I have subscribed so ye, here I am
Try it, I think you'll be surprised at how it turns out in the end. If you do just a caution I don't think I mentioned in the video is when using the spray foam, it's sticky stuff best to spray it onto baking paper. Good Luck :)
I see where Pearl gets her artistic skills from
irl terraforming
I like to think I had something to do with it but I can't take any credit, she's awsome all on her own!:)
@@RETROROCKETMAN That is so wholesome
@@RETROROCKETMAN She definitely got a least some of her artistic skills from you. I'm subscribing, you deserve it
Grian is friends with pearl so technically grian learnt terraforming from pearl's dad
Your daughter is so sweet 💖 . I am glad she recommended this . Lot of people love this type of content (lncluding me 🙂)
Thank you, I hope I can inspire Cheers:)
Its actually crazy how accurate the coloration is, so similar to oxidized minerals great job!
Just grey primer and shoe polish, simple but effective!
I have to agree. This is some next level art and creativity. It looks so cool and realistic.
@@RETROROCKETMAN yeah, I've seen other channels (and personally tried) use acrylic paint for dry brushing
Would never have thought to use shoe polish
The moment you realize that Pearl's passion for building and sculpting in Minecraft is probably affected by her dad.
As much talented daughter as much talented father. Wow 👍
Aw shucks! Thank you so much, cheers:)
Your daughter sent us. I'm glad she did. Thanks for sharing your creative side with us humans.

Thank you, Cheers.
Love your work!
Oh that's nifty, I've not come across the tp method yet, I'll have to give it a go when I do my hills next
It's a cheap and easy way to achieve naturally looking stone/rock.
Man I miss thunderbirds
I used to love the originals
My dad brought me up on them because he grew up with them in the 60’s and 70’s
Iconic
Love this. Pearl sent me here. I’m so into this stuff but don’t have the time or resources to do it myself
