Who here has already liked the video in the 1st minute? Because we all value tony as a musical genius #goat
Musical genius? Lmao, slow your roll.
It Was Written is a genuinely underrated album. Great list, Tony.
how’s it underrated if it went double platinum? it’s even been re-released on vinyl twice
@@infam0usP oh, cool. I didn't know it was re-released on vinyl twice. In terms of its place in history, I though Nas' die-hard fans were disappointed that he leapt towards such a commercial sound, and they weren't as pleased with the sorta mafioso character Nas was playing throughout. I think maybe time has looked more fondly on the album, as compared to the way it was critically received at the time. That's why I said it was underrated, even though it sold well. I was very young when it came out and listened to the album later, as an adult, and I was surprised at how undeniably sharp Nas was throughout, compared to what I'd heard people say about it.
IWW is better than Illmatic. Both albums are masterpieces.
Far from underrated. 1996 was Nas n Nas haters
Don't sleep on that "Little Brother" I'm glad they made the list!
Yes sir
minstrel show and listening are on my list. goat debut and sophmore combo
"Yo pardon my French, but let me speak Italian! BLACK STALLION'S WYLDIN ON SHOALIN!!"🔥🔥❤ easily within my top 10! +Supreme Clientele & IronMan
👐🏾
When you said Tupac wasn’t on here: 😒
When you put Big K.R.I.T on here: 😏
Lmao.
KRIT deserves all the flowers, he's emotional like Pac and he really hits deep, but gives u that classic Southern Outkast/UGK flavor
Little brother is my ish! The listening, Minstrel show, and May the lord watch! Excellent albums.
I’m surprised Lupe Fiasco “The Cool” not on here
It's better than Food & Liquor
@@mightbe7342 Ehhh. They are definitely different, but it's hard for me to say one OS better than the other.
@@AudioGAWD Which one you reach for more or which one got more play for a longer period of time & that's your answer. Or you straight up might not have a preference. It's an unprovable opinion...unlike the tupac doesn't have a top 25 album take. That's an undisputable fact
Lupe gonna get on him next time he come on the Lupe & Royce show 😂
The Cool is definitely in my top 25!
OutKast - "ATLiens" is one of my personal favorite Hip Hop albums of all time! 🙏🏾🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
The most immportant album for the duo. Tha album broke the rules of hip hop for that time.
Big Krit’s “Forever is a mighty long time”🎨👨🏾🎨
Straight 🔥🔥🔥
Yup, fave KRIT project, instant classic!! That & 4Eva N A Day which I think is still my fave KRIT project, KRIT's such a legend man!!
Ain't that a mixtape?
@@chrisisslick Nope, double album!
@@docm4544 got it. 👍🏼He loves the word forever lol. Return of forever and 4eva and a day are mixtapes.
Do a top 25 R&B list...also the below the heavens album 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Yes!
I'm here for this.
I second this!
I'm scrolling comments and when he said lemme know what list u want ur comment was there at same time lol
Haven't listened to that album in a minute but I remember it being so dope
You have a lot of my favs on here. Miseducation of Lauren Hill was a classic and she cemented herself as the best female rapper of all time.
Lauryn has less than 30 verses that people really listened to though. Is that enough to say greatest female rapper? But do absolutely love the album.

Cadillactica is my personal favorite Krit album, I think 4eva Is A Mighty Long Time is one of the greatest albums of the last century, But CADILLACTICA, man, I had that bumpin in my car for like 2 years straight. 🔥
🗣TO THIS DAY
Still is...
@@yungtwun hey, I just redownloaded soon as I was done watching this vid. lol
4eva Is A Mighty Long Time is heavily slept on, deserves to be mentioned at the very least with the GKMC's, but even with the greats out of the 80's/90's
@@JamesThomas-li1fv I forgot how good “Lost Generation” was man. This album is crazy.
Anyone who think Hill wasn’t rapping don’t know everything is everything or that thing!!!
🤜🏾🤛🏾💯
She was beasty and had substance
Not too many albums better than Scarface’s The Diary and Untouchable. Also, Twista Adrenaline Rush.
Agreed about The Diary! Scarface's third verse on "I Seen a Man Die" is better than most rappers whole fuckin catalog.
Twista?🤯🤣
??! This is HIS list man!! Make your own then!!
Agreed on face. Twista wack tho. Only ppl who think he nice are from Chicago
Scarface is my favorite of all time.
I feel like Snoop's Blue Carpet Treatment is super underrated. I wouldn't say his best now, but top 3
Definitely. My second favorite Snoop album.
Doggystyle, R&G, and Blue Carpet Treatment in my top 3 snoop albums. Doggumentary takes 4
Nice, nice...I think I would go Doggystyle, B.C.T, and Tha Last Meal (Lay Low is 🙌🏽)...and, if I had a fourth album, Malice 'N Wonderland, a good representation of music at that time
Last meal too
"Think about it" off that album is My all time fav snoop song
You know how Charismatic and hilarious you need to be to make a list on TH-cam and have it long than 5 mins? Tony Baker Level, Watch Mojo Level, Santa Claus Level.
We here for it.
Great point rite here. There are indeed levels and Tony is up there 👍🏾
Lmao. Thank you! I LOVE watch mojo videos
Charismatic McGee. It’s in his blood. Voice. Delivery . Showmanship.
Dude was built for this. And I don’t even listen to hiphop like that.
Like Michael Phelps’ frame was built for swimming.
BIG facts! I usually hate watching list videos.... unless it's WatchMojo or Tony Baker lol its been awhile since he's done one so I hit like before I even finished the video off of pure excitement lol
@@TonyBakercomedy well you got to do R and B. Its only right
"Put that Outkast on"
Incarcerated Scarfaces was a game changer
A tribe called quest midnight marauders for me all tracks bangers. Same thing with De la soul instant classes.
Yeah Tony! Looking forward to your Top 25 R&B albums!
I am glad that you put Common - Be on your list ... its so gooooood
Very solid list my brother!! Always good to see a person have good Hip-Hop taste #Salute
Lupe food and liquor
Definitely!
The Cool is my favorite Lupe but this is right there too
SOLID LIST!!! Great catch on the Below The Heavens LP and the Minstrel Show!! Heads be sleeping on those.
I stopped everything I was doing the second you mentioned "It was written." I love that album so much!
Clearly, we are from the same era. Your list is probably about 95% the same as mine. From your classics to your newer albums. I was shocked to see you shout out Blu & Exile and Little Brother. Great taste my dude.
Tony..This is a solid list... Outkast, J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar their albums on your list were on repeat on my playlist. Great episode.
It boosted his career and made him anonymous compared to his 1st 2 albums. “J. Cole? Jermaine?”
That’s how I knew j Cole was that guy
One time fo tha citaaay and 2 times fo youuuu?
Tony's younger than i thought lol, I thought he would have Public Enemy, Rakim and Slick Rick on here.
it’s a super backpackery list- not mad, ijs
Love Supreme ❤️
Who else thought the microphone was real?! 😂😂😂
Son I was lookin at it like "hold up! That shit aint wobble in 15 mins" lmaoo
Mr Baker sir? You on one with this WHOLE LIST?! Man, I forgot some of these? My nephew must learn today. Thanks fam. 🙏
I respect everything about his list! A great ear for hip-hop and lyricism.
Great list. I wish you and Tahir had time to bring back best silent listening party
Tone! Some great hip hop! I would love to see a list of your top Standup Specials! Btw here are some Honorable mentions
Atliens, Outkast
The score, Fugees
Black Star, Mos Def & Talib Kweli
Extinction Agenda, Organized Konfusion
Labcabincalifornia., The Pharcyde
Stakes is High, De la Soul
Don’t sweat the technique, Eric B & Rakim
This is some dope content love to see more !!
Man, already had you on the stand up comedy for many years . And now you drop this pure gem , all these albums except Kendrick and J cole were daily played by me when they came out . You even gave a shout out to the legendary No.ID (his album was special as well). Thanks for sharing your knowledge and also with some balanced nuance . Peace from Amsterdam !
I really like your list and to have Below The Heavens on it shows you are definitely a hip hop head!
Dope ass list bruh (even tho there’s a couple of joints I never heard, Big Krit), great choices . Also your thoughts on PAC are spot on too me !
SO glad you're back with the lists, Tony🤗 Top 25 RnB albums are the obvious choice but because you're a foodie I think top 25 foods or meals would be interesting too
I think this is a solid hip-hop aficionado’s list. All of these albums have the fundamentals of a solid hip hop album... loopability, valuable interludes/skits, dope beats/producers, and dynamic lyricism! I use to have every single one of these on cd until my car was broken into first week of moving to Southern California! My entire discovery gone... Saddest day ever!
Dang, you made me want to go back and listen to some of these. Can you do a top 10 albums of 90’s R&B next? 😄
I never expected to hear him mention Little Brother. Those skits really were life, same with the Listeninnng. I even love the callbacks on May The Lord Watch.
Love the list man, Tupac is my favorite Mc of all time , but I love & respect your list , hate when people get mad when they don’t agree with your opinions😂 i love you’re list man💯🔥
A Hip Hop list with a dose of some Tony stories, I'm here for it 🤜🏾🤛🏾💯
You have my respek sir. Great list and great job explaining the criteria for choice.
Props for the Blu & Exile nod
That album was phenomenal
This is an amazing list. When u mentioned Blu Exile Below the Havens... I know u were a real hip hop fan. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Great list Tony! Like a curated exhibit of hip hop masterpieces. All yall young heads take notes...
Got alot of my favorites on here. Good list
im only 32 but its wild how similar our music taste is man. you a solid dude tony. this video is appreciated
Dope list!! Much appreciated
I literally love EVERY album on your list. And, when you said BLu I knew you were a true hip hop head. Two thumbs up!
Yass! I've been rewatching your random lists from 2 years ago so I spoke this into being! Lol
Dope list. I really can’t debate on any of the choices. Haven’t checked out Big Krit yet but real hip hop heads love him, so I gotta listen. I can vibe with Tony Baker. We have similar tastes in music and movies, so I appreciate his list videos. Keep them coming bro.
Your list is amazing and I respect it. Over half of your list would be on my top 25. But I would have to add Twista Adrenaline rush, Bone Thugs n Harmony E.1999, T.I. Urban Legend, Busta Rhymes E.L.E., Crucial Conflict The Final Tic, Mystikal Unpredictable, Da Brat Unrestricted.
DAAAAAMN RUDY!!! Fire ass list mane!
This is a fantastic list!
phenomenal list, literally bro me and you got the same taste in hiphop
Doggystyle by Snoop Dogg is the classic 🔥West Coast Rap album in all-time
Black On Both Sides out the gate...the list is legit no matter what else follows.
Yes Sir!! This is a solid list tone.
This is a solid list. I am a deep underground head but this list gets zero complaints from me. All solid albums
I loved both Common albums and was hoping that you would name at least one of those. My fave Outkast album is Atliens.
One of the most solid lists i've seen so far, even had some i didn't know about so that's dope. I would've had at least one Pete Rock & C.L.Smooth album on there though, Main ingredient and Mecca & the Soul Brother are two of the greatest albums of all time.
It’s a solid list. I’ve enjoyed almost every album you named. I’ll have to check out the ones I haven’t heard.
I definitely trust Tony's taste so I definitely gotta checkout krit and blu/exile
The way I screamed when you mentioned Below the Heavens 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 a true work of art
I needed this, I've been going through albums mad crazy in the pangaea
Tony talking about music in depth for 22 minites? *clicks play*
I'm not gonna denie it, Tony put me on a lot of genius artists i never knew cuz i'm a 95 baby and grew up on gucci mane era. 😅
Gucci mane is a 🐐
Seen you come up with this on daddy issues thought I'd be waiting a while...pleasantly suprised
Oh the list made it to youtube? Lets goo. This the best explanation of your list since Twitch lol
When Tony makes a list. IM PULLING UP!!!
after seeing your list makes me feel better knowing I’m not the only one with good taste lol blues album when it came out below the heavens was just different and I’ll never forget I had that on repeat
I can tell me and tony around the same age cuz both of our love for hip hop started in the early to mid 90s. The majority of his list is from that time period as is mine.
Solid list 🔥 Tony knows his movies and music 👌🏽
Tony got the super backpack list
