one of the main things that drew me towards wgu was the fact that they recognized how seamless analytics and supply chain mesh together. it was my plan to get a BA in business/SCM and another BA in computer science because I love how the two skills align.
Just a response to time stamp 1:35. WGU business degrees, whether prefixed with the label business administration or not consist of the same core classes. Depending on the business major there maybe a variation in one core class to reduce redundancy. An example of this would be business core course: Business Environment Applications II: Process, Logistics, and Operations. This course appears as core for most of the business majors except for BSSCOM because it would be redundant. The same goes for Marketing, Concepts in Marketing, Sales, and Customer Contact does not appear in the business core for Marketing as it does in the other business majors because it would be redundant. BSSCOM does not pigeonhole you to anything, just because it is not listed as a business administration degree. All the business degrees have the same core classes and management classes for the most part. The HR courses are either substituted for the specialization or used as fillers like in IT management. Additionally, there are 5 data classes (yes, spreadsheets presentation is a prerequisite for the data courses). This is by far the most versatile business degree WGU offers in my opinion. It serves the same purpose as an administration degree and drills down on specific skills. It’s by far more technical than IT Management teaching SQL, R and Tablaeu with certs. It’s a gem if you see it for what it is. BSSCOM has 10 specialized and the BBA in Management has 9 but the core courses are almost identical.
