Is there a difference for units in campaign? Thats my main thing. Also, I cant wait to see if those odst were actually worth saving, or just made me feel better that I saved them
So what about using the covenant leader ability to soft the enemy and then let then finish them with a normal attack. Would that give the leader the full exp?
It's not an optimal strategy for the prophet or brute. you don't get the full xp cuz the majority of the damage would be done by the leader power on top of wasting resources. (Not to mention the unwanted aoe damage should you have tech 2 leader powers or higher) -Alot more difficult pulling that move off with the prophet if he's ancestral, if the sentinels auto fire and destroy the target you don't get stars either The cleansing beam and vortex seem to be separate entities entirely hence why you never get a star doing the damage. Tbh you probably would eventually get a star with the normal attack combo you brought up, it'll just be at significantly slower rate then just wacking away normally. (The Arbiter does not suffer from this issue, he can rage all the way)

Forgot to mention. For the Grizzly & Hawk. You can also get them to 14 star by simply upgrading the unit and leveling it up that way as well.

Woooow I thought units having stars would grant more xp. It always felt like that when I would kill 10 Star tanks or 1 star Scarabs

The only difference I was told about was the spartan scarab which is actually weaker than a normal one
