      The Imperial kitchen -
      Quote: The imperial kitchen
In total, more than 200 officials, cooks and eunuchs were employed. The emperor's meals were prepared separately from everybody else's meals. The Director of the Eastern Depot cooked the meals during even months, with the Director of Ceremonial taking over during odd months. End Quote
      The Banquet -
Quote: Eating Manchu Banquet, the complicated procedures and heavy etiquette, are more fully reflected in the official banquets. The prologue of the banquet is usually unveiled in the sound of melodious music. The banquet music played is like "Open the Door", "Welcome", "Nanqing Palace", "General Order" and so on. During the banquet, you can watch music, dance and opera performances. When serving dishes, first hand dishes, followed by cold dishes, hot dishes, and medium bowls. After three rounds of wine, the barbecue dishes, such as roast suckling pig and roast duck, are served. Because of the wide variety of dishes and the long time to eat, the pattern of mats and dishes with dishes is often adopted, which is advanced in layers and carried forward and backwards, just like a line of troops. This not only adds to the momentum of the entire banquet, but also during the eating process. China can continue to set off new climaxes. The chefs who cater to the full banquet are also called "dinners". They all wear wedding hats, tie their waists, and kneel down to serve dishes. Every time they are served, they must chant "Annunciation" and receive a red paper package from the owner. Happy to seal one. When serving barbecue dishes, it is undoubtedly an opportunity for the chef to show his exquisite knife skills. Barbecue dishes are like the entire table. After the table is served, the chef takes off the knife on the spot, cuts it into lumps or slices, and then puts it in a vessel, bending the knees, and presents it to the most distinguished guests on the table. When the distinguished guest starts the chopsticks, the escort begins to taste it. A full table in Taiwan takes as little as a day, and there are also six meals in two days or even nine meals in three days. For diners, eating such a table is not a very easy task. Fortunately, during the "truce", you can sit on tea cups and watch music, dance, and opera performances. Such a "combination of labor and entertainment", although a three-day feast, it unknowingly dangles in covetousness. The table full of delicacies of mountains and seas, a small amount of it is fruity, and more of it is left in messy cups and plates, and was wasted in vain.
The Manchu and Han banquets in Chengdu, whether it is an official feast or a private feast, are not as large and arranging as many other places. In terms of the variety of dishes, the Jiangsu seat list has 130 dishes, the Jinan seat list has 75 dishes, the Guangzhou seat list has 82 dishes, and the Man-Han full seat list in Chengdu has only 65 dishes (the full seat list in Daoguang Period is less. , Only 36 fret). However, this difference constitutes the distinctive feature of the Chengdu version of the full table: it is relatively more concise and practical, with a small and exquisite unique charm while maintaining the basic style of the Manchu and Han fusion. End Quote

Although Marie Antoinette loved chocolate she was not fond of the Grand Couvert. As a mater of fact she hated a lot of the customs that dated from Louis XIV’s reign …actually she was known sometimes to not even taste any food while her gluttonous husband Louis XVI would down incredible portions of food. It became her downfall and public was critical of her reluctance to share her life with the public. Latter during her reign she appeared less and less at the public view ceremonies that were held choosing rather to spend time at her mini farm village called Le Hameau.

You have mistaken the Roman numerals.

This has to be like, a parody video or something, cause like, there isn't a chance in hell that you *ACTUALLY* think that Versailles is spelled how you spelled it. No, I refuse, like, this just simply isn't real, and that's that.

Entertainment before the internet and cell phones... a.) Watching people eat infront of you, probably when you're so poor that adding a loaf of bread to your family dinner is a luxury seldom afforded with your only daily meal - a bowl of watered down cabbage "soup"! And b.) Watching (for sport) people being executed.

The poor obviously couldn't afford to attend Watch-King-Eat parties. You had to have a lot of money just to get in there. So, that only left them with...
      Well, that explains a lot.
