The intake has been perfect. Our TO starts right up every time. The other day we used it to move our recently rescued K10 around. Hadn't been started in at least a couple of weeks, sitting outside, about 30 degrees. Popped right off.
We will be working on a 8 or 9N (can’t remember) for a customer sometime in the next few months! Yes we are in central Nebraska (Aurora). Thanks for watching, we have more to do to our Fergie as soon as we can get some other stuff caught up! Happy 4th of July!!
hi, I am really enjoying these videos on the TO30. I have one myself, and am getting ready to do an overhaul on the engine and since it will be removed, replace the clutch...although still not sure if I will need to split the tractor if I pull the motor. anyway, looking myself for the right clutch how did you determine if yours took the 1-1/8 hub or the 1-3/8 hub? any way to find out without tearing it apart first? I ask cause I would like to order parts beforehand. also there is not much info on the TO30 on youtube, but these videos have really helped, thanks.
Thank you Knight Jester! We're glad you are enjoying our content. Unfortunately I do not have an answer for you. We pulled ours then ordered parts. I do know the folks at Yesterdays Tractors know their stuff. Might try there with your question. www.yesterdaystractors.com/
@@freedom1garage thanks for the info. have read a lot of info from them and trust their knowledge. first got my tractor 3yrs ago, it was in bad shape with blown head gasket and had been run that way for many years, so you can imagine the cleaning on all the lifters, valves, head, oil pan (caked on sludge, no idea last time it had an oil change). one lifter spring had busted, causing it to bog down. lots of soaking in cleaning solution, retorquing each lifter as they were way out. so much oil/coolant mixture flowing all through the engine and so much cleaning. the front half of body was black from oil all over it, didnt even know it was red underneath till after hours and hours of scrubbing. had to get it to a good running condition before I could see what more it needed, but after a compression test I found out all pistons rings were shot, cause oil would build up above the piston and cause it to stall out. engine still has a lot of power though, just pulling out in first gear always pops the front up a little. lots of work still, have new sleeves, pistons, and tie rods to replace. when first had the oil pan off, tried to remove piston bearing bolt underneath with torque bar, but couldnt so another reason I am pulling the engine. anyway, thanks for the reply, also my name is John and I think in one video you state your tractor is a Harry. mine as well, stamped right on as a Harry, not Massey or anything else.
@@knightjester7947 Not sure what you plan to have in time and $. For your engine but we purchased a parts TO20 this spring that was said to run off the bottle. I know the engine turns but I have not verified the claim that it runs. We were after the fenders, hydraulics and some other bits. We don’t have much in it if you need a plan B.
@@freedom1garage much appreciated and I am grateful for the offer but I am also a backyard mechanic and small engine repairman, and after a lot of time clean up (lots of clean up!) the Z129 engine is working as it should. still have low compression on all cylinders so will be replacing sleeves and new pistons, but until something breaks to where there is no hope of repair, I will always keep rebuilding things. all the best to you and your family and thank you, John

Not trying to be smart, but trying to maybe save you or your loved ones heartache. Don't EVER work in rags around things that spin. I get that you're trying to be economical - dirty work - cheap clothes. Not worth it if a tiny strand of ragged clothes gets caught in a spinning engine or PTO and maims or kills you. Hope this saves you or someone else.
You were really lucky to get an alignment tool included with the clutch.
We thought that was a nice bonus too. Now you know where there's one for borrow!
You have a TO20.
Yup. I gotta talk to the person writing my scripts!!!
@@freedom1garage No problem. Enjoyed your video!
So, after a year, what's your impression of the newer manifold?
