I moved to Oahu from the mainland and worked as a nurse for a few years in acute care and hospice. Going into people’s homes all over the island was an interesting experience and overall, I enjoyed so much aloha! I was truly blessed to be welcomed in even when they they knew I wasn’t a local. Once we got to know each other it was all good! Definitely takes some courage to put yourself out there. You’ll meet so many unique, amazing people who will bless you and there’s always those patients and families you’ll never forget. And gorgeous places and experiences that’ll make you so glad you did it! Money comes and goes. Hawaii is totally worth the cost especially if it’s something that you dream of doing❤ You gotta be okay with bugs though, just say’in. Happy you made it back home safe…What an adventure!
I'm sorry for some of the bad experiences that you had. My wife was in the hospital side while your husband was stationed there. Hope the good out wayed the bad. Thank you for his service.
I'm not a travel nurse. I'm not a nurse. I watched because I wanted to see your decision tree. I thinking making of one of those for any big decisions is a wonderful idea. Thanks!
What a FANTASTIC idea...folks should use something like this for a lot of their decisions. We did an 18 day cruise to Hawaii and we experienced a lot of what you did. I am glad we chose a cruise and not a land vacation. Hawaii is definitely VERY EXPENSIVE and while beautiful it is not someplace I would choose to spend more than a few days let alone a 4 month work assignment. There are so many BEAUTIFUL places here on the mainland. As a fulltime RVer we love our country here on the Mainland. Looking forward to watching your expenses review. I could not get over how expensive things were in Hawaii!
Thank you! We agree - so many places to visit on the mainland. BEAUTIFUL places. Hawaii was pretty and we are glad we went but I think we've had our fill
We live on the east coast so traveling to Hawaii is a LONG trip and I don’t want to go there especially after watching your other video about our skin color. That shocked me and it has solidified my decision to never visit. Skin color should not matter… EVER! Unacceptable in my opinion 😢
I live in East Hawai'i and am white originally from the mainland. As I raise my kids my perspective is that we are experiencing what every racial and cultural minority experiences everywhere...we have just never lived it before as white people in the U S. Most people are not prejudiced anywhere, but there are some everywhere and it can be shocking when it's your first time as the "other" on the receiving end. I think it is a good experience for our kids and they have empathy they can now carry through their lives wherever they go.
We stayed 10 day's. Most beautiful place on earth. Hilo sucks. Rain. Food, car rental and other stuff was reasonable. Housing is ridiculous and natives dislike us.

I'm so happy to hear this. I know there are some really good people there.

Ah thank you! We are glad we went and we did have good experiences too. :)
Can you make a video on steps to take on how to get there ?
How to find car or housing

It is a certainly not something I really expected to encounter. :( Of course not everyone is that way. There are some really good people too.
