@@JustinCase780 There are many things in parents' lives that are better demonstrated than discussed. For example, it's healthy for parents to show affection like hugging and kissing in front of their children, but it's not necessary for them to openly discuss details of their sexual relations. Likewise, it's enough for their kids to be shown that their parents are financially secure, industrious, prudent, and generous. The kids don't need to know the exact dollar amount in the bank.
This man and his wife are a great example of people who deserve this benefit. They have remained humble, help their family and seem like good parents. I love everything about this!
I worked with a waiter. It was so sad. He openly told us he was waiting for his parent to die because he was going to inherit all the money. He lived with the "yolo" attitude. Spent every cent he had on crap and money he didnt have. A few years later, I heard through a mutual friend that he was angry as the parent passed away and he didn't end up getting near what he expected. He's verging on bankruptcy. It made my heart so sad. Imagine waiting for something like that? Not trying to make the most of what time you have left together building memories? I dread the day I recieve inheritance. It means I've lost someone I love dearly. I'd rather my parents around than any amount of money.
I know what you mean. I lost my father three months ago, and it has been so painful. I miss him so much and always will. My mother is 82, and will leave me a modest inheritance some day that will definitely be of assistance after I retire (I'm almost 58). But I would rather never see a dime of that inheritance if my mother could live healthfully for another 20 years!
Well I think it might be important to consider not everyone gets along with their family, or even worse hates their family for whatever reason. Now if its just a case of the guy had a loving family, but he didnt care, and preferred money, yeah, thats pretty bad, and cold.
I can’t imagine wanting my parents to die just because of the financial inheritance. In fact, as much as I love picturing how my parents will partake in huge milestones (being there at my wedding, meeting their future grandkids for the first time, etc.), I get sad a bit that that shows how their time is running out.
I'm right with you. I tell the story to everyone that I can....my dad and I get haircuts together. We've been going to the same barbershop at the same time for 30 years....I'm in my 40s right now and dad is in his 70s. We are both nearly bald (ok, it's advanced male pattern baldness with a bit in back and the sides, and nothing on top). But, we go together to get our hair cut. Someone will ask why I don't just shave it off...and my response is because "one day, dad and I won't be able to get our haircut together." Maybe he'll be physically unable to, or he'll have passed on, but in any scenario, it's a darn shame and a loss. So, yes, it makes my heart sad that that person you referred to that waited for his parents to die is on the verge of bankruptcy. That is sad that he waited to lose the people that he loved, then is losing the things that he thought he valued and will be left with neither.
This guy is the statistical blip beating the odds of all the lottery winner sad sack stories. He actually has the wisdom to make it a blessing instead of a curse. Good job.
It’s fun to be rich when most of our friends think we are poor because we live so frugally. It’s also fun to be generous with our money when needs arise.
I can’t imagine, 22 mil in a money market earning 5.3% is 1.1 million a year in interest alone 😮 without touching the principal. What a great guy for this to happen to. This could last generations if played right. Good on him for not being flashy.
@@ericdeer5887 That's not even including his W2 income and anything the wife makes if she is working. I'd struggle to find a way to spend that kind of money each year so the principal would just keep growing.

The whole point of wealth for me is freedom. My magic number in my mind is 5 million needed at 65 to not worry about anything. Am i better off investing a good portion of my income into stocks or saving my earnings to achieve this goal?
Varied sources of income is wise and especially living within your means. My net worth is $2M and I can pay my bills with no stress, but I don't live like I have that. I have no complaints.
Money advice is subjective, what works for you may not work for someone else, but it's always better to plan. I'm quite lucky exposed to personal finance at an early age, started job 19, bought first home 28, got laid-off work 36 amid covid-outbreak, and at once I consulted an advisor to handle growing my finance. It's SOOO refreshing to see level headed folks win some money like this. cant think of a more rational way to handle an absolutely life changing amount of money than the way he's handling it. ive always known that if i ever came into a large sum of money either through hard work, luck, or inheritance, there's really only about 3 ppl in the world id tell.
He said it - he is not a flashy guy. I don't know what I would want to spend that kind of money on either, makes complete sense to me to just get a team to manage it and continue living your life and working as if nothing happened.
Full grown adults cannot handle this info without coming arms open begging, so it’s smart to never tell the kiddos. I would definitely travel if I came into money like that, and enjoy incredible restaurants and sights. Food makes me happiest in this world. @jadonmesfun6479 let them be pissed. Parents don’t owe their adult children an inheritance at all. If I revealed something like that and someone asked why I didn’t tell them sooner, I’d remind them that I don’t owe them anything and I’d write them out of my will by the next morning

Investing without proper guidance can lead to mistakes and losses. I've learned this from my own experience. If you're new to investing or don't have much time, it's best to get advice from an expert.
A lot of folks downplay the role of advlsors until being burnt by their own emotions. I remember couple summers back, after my lengthy divorce, I needed a good boost to help my business stay afloat, hence I researched for licensed advisors and came across someone of utmost qualifications. She's helped grow my reserve notwithstanding inflation, from $275k to $850k.

The caller is well aware of the 'Sudden Weatlth Syndrome' and its pitfalls. I remember Dave said this before: 'Money doesn't change you. It only magnifies who you are before getting rich'.
I'm so glad to see someone come into some money that has his head on straight and is prepared to handle it. So many stories about ppl buying the $5M house and a couple of $250K cars and it's gone in a few years. What a great lesson to teach his one day to be wealthy kids.
@shellderp I still wouldn’t buy them; those purchases tend to be more for flaunting wealth and the personal joy would wear off in about 3-5 days. I’d rather spend it on stuff that matters Those who buy luxury cars tend to keep chasing that high. It’s just like an addiction. In fact, consumerism is an addiction. And these patterns will lead to people running out of money in a few years when they could’ve retired extremely comfortably had they been intentional with the money Personally, I don’t need a lot to be happy. Having too many things brings about so much mental clutter that I don’t want. Those who find joy in the simple things in life tend to be happier
I absolutely loved this call. This should be a helpful lesson to anyone who receives a lump sum of money, whether it's an extremely rare lottery win or massive inheritance. I'm so glad that someone like this guy was a lottery winner. He's humble and nice and now he's going to be more of that. He needs to focus on ensuring his children have the same personality type before any money is disclosed or given to them. The children need to WORK! Give them money when they are in their 30's and not a moment sooner.
Dave, so many of your videos are heart wrenchingly sad for the people who have made bad choices in their lives. This video is such a warm, heart-lifting story that it, at least in part, off-sets many others. This video has brightened my day.
I love this caller he is so smart, deliberate, and wise in the way he is doing this. When his kids get older and they’re finally told they’re going to just laugh. Because I know that’s what I would do just laugh.
I love love love Dave's way of explaining his wealth to his kids. "It's not *my* money, it's the lord's and I just manage it." I come from a middle class family but I have aspirations to escape the middle class and become wealthy, and one of my biggest motivators is this sort of ideaolgy. I am a good manager of money, and I'd love the freedom to be generous and serve others in ways that having lots of wealth can allow you to. That's awesome Dave!
I don't have a problem with him doing whatever he wants with his money, but if it's the lord's money like he says, why would "the lord" want him to buy a mansion and live a life full of luxury?

Everyone needs to hear this, you need to create your own process, manage risk and stick to the plan, thick or thin, while continually learning from mistakes and improving.
"A good process" is all that is required. When I needed a good push to assist my firm stay afloat, I went to a fiduciary CFP. So I sought for financial advisors and found someone who did their homework and helped me build my reserve from $75,000 to almost $850,000 so far, despite inflation.

True. That's why when some people have enough money to retire, they keep working for several more years because the job becomes less stressful when they no longer need it to pay the bills.
I think if it were me, I’d still only want part time though…. having a four day weekend, every week would probably be almost satisfying as having the cash in the bank lol a full extra day to do household chores, and then another day to pursue either hobbies or education in an area of interest.

My “job” was just over minimum wage, but because I miscalculated some numbers, I ended up thinking I had WAY more money than I did. I learned my mom made more than that amount (which was low) and ended up thinking she was being cheap and had negative feelings toward her because of it. The advice in the video is valuable for the typical American. What a great lesson to teach his future wealthy kids. I started investing when I was 30 back in 1998.
Some people are so lucky
I think this guy knows what type of children he has!
imagine if he was like 25 insted of mid 50ies XD
"I don't want my kids to be waiters, just waiting for me to die". I'm going to keep those words.
I'm sure we will hear that many more times now lol "waiters"

LMAO... I love that line
Waiting for us to die so they can get our money 😂😂😂
This made me cry.
This guy is the statistical blip beating the odds of all the lottery winner sad sack stories. He actually has the wisdom to make it a blessing instead of a curse. Good job.

The advice in the video is valuable for the typical American. What a great lesson to teach his future wealthy kids. I started investing when I was 30 back in 1998. Today, I'm 55 and have a decent $7.2M nest egg, thanks to the careful supervision of my CFP. After learning all of this, my only regret is not starting earlier when I was 25. It may not seem like much but those extra 5 years are the most important.
This is really not as difficult as many people presume it to be. It requires a certain level of diligence, no doubt, which is something ordinary investors lack, and so a financial advisor often comes in very handy. That is how people are able to make such huge profits in the market.
I completely agree, this is why I decided to give a coach control over my everyday investing decisions. Their proficiency in research, specific knowledge, and risk management makes it difficult for them to deliver below expectations. They emphasize minimizing drawbacks while maximizing risk's asymmetrical potential. I have more than two years of investing coach experience, and I have made more than a quarter of a million dollars.
That's actually impressive!, I could really use the expertise of this CFP , my portfolio has been down bad....who’s the person guiding you?
@gatesbev The adviser that guides me is HEATHER LEE LARIONI. She works with Empower FinanciaI services. But there are a lot of independent advisors you might look into. For me, her strategy works hence my result. She provides entry and exit point for the securities I focus on
@georgeh She appears to be well-educated and well-read. She seems proficient considering her résumé. I ran a Google search on her name and came across her website; thank you for sharing.
"That's why I'm there, cuz I kinda like my job" 😂😂😂😂
Almost seems impossible to be this damn amazingly humble, wise, and patient. Sounds like he already was winning before the big win. I’m envious in the best possible way for this man and his family.
Best advice ever. My uncle won not anything close to this a few months ago and the leeches came asking for money. People are unbelievable.
They really are. So ignorant
Block the leeches on all social media sites, ghost them and get a restraining order if they come knocking on your door! You're welcome:)
this is like the only person who should have won the lottery. Great guy, no terrible financial descisions, looking out for others while taking it slowly. Great for him.
Success depends on the actions or steps you take to achieve it. Building wealth involves developing good habits like regularly putting money away in intervals for solid investments. Financial management is a crucial topic that most tend to shy away from, and ends up haunting them in the near future. I pray that anyone who reads this will be successful in life.
Starting early is simply the best way of getting ahead to build wealth , investing remains a priority. I learnt from my last year's experience , I am able to build a suitable life because I invested early ahead this time.
Exactly. That's my major concern and what kind of profitable business or investment can someone do with the current rise in economic downturn
I have been investing in stocks for over 3 years now and I have made nothing less that $600k in ROI. My portfolio has grown exponentially. Will advise you consider stocks inveestment.
I find this interesting. Could you please provide me with the means to get in touch with your Adviser? I am concerned about my dwindling portfolio.
”Debra Ella Nicholas” is the lady's name. I first saw her on a goldman sachs' report, then on Smart Advisors, and immediately looked her up on the internet; it was the best decision I've made to stay afloat in these crazy times. She has been outstanding.
Absolute best caller ever !
What a great story! This man is so deserving of this wealth. May his children become great managers of such wealth.
I applaud him for how he handled this and they know how to keep secrets.
Good decision!!! Never tell anybody!! People will change once they knew. Plus not all will be happy that's a freaking fact. So congrats to you
Healthy, wealthy, and wise! The waiter mic drop is hysterically appropriate!! Thank you for calling in. It is so enjoyable to hear the good news of wise choices! Blessings!
He’s exactly right! If I won a huge amount in the lottery, I’d only tell my husband and eventually tell my kids the way Dave did.
Man, this guy is a legend! I like his style.
It's a fake call. Sorry to break it to you.
I love this guy! What a terrific, deserving human being!!!
I LOVE this dude and his family. What a blessed, intelligent and blessed man.
It's fake.
The first caller & his wife are fantastic! So smart…..
When you have a mature mindset towards money, you’ll be responsible and adequately equipped to manage a windfall like this
You work for 40yrs to have $1m in your retirement, Meanwhile some people are putting just $10k in a meme coin for just few months and now they are multi millionaires. I pray that anyone who reads this will be successful in life
I'm new to cryptocurrency and don't understand how it really works. how Can someone know the right approach to investing and making good profits from cryptocurrency investments?
As a beginner what do I need to do? How can I invest, on which platform? If you know any please share.
As a beginner investor, it’s essential for you to have a mentor to keep you accountable. Myself, I’m guided by Ryan Donald Robert. A widely known crypto consultant
I've come across this name before, is he really reliable?
I started working with Ryan Donald back in June, and my financial goals have never been clearer. It’s like having a strategic partner for my money with a solid track record.
Amazing video, A friend of mine referred me to a financial adviser sometime ago and we got to talking about investment and money. I started investing below the $100k mark and in the first 2 months, my portfolio was reading $234,800. Crazy right!, I decided to reinvest a huge percentage of my profit and it got more interesting.! For over a year we have been working together making consistent profit just bought my second home at the beginning of summer.
Hi. I’ve been forced to find additional sources of income as I got retrenched. I barely have time to continue trading and watch my investments since I had my second child. Do you think I should take a break for a while from the market and focus on other things or return whenever I have free time or is it a continuous process? Thanks
@@Donnafrank-k6e However, if you do not have access to a professional like Suzanne Gladys Xander, quitting your job to focus on trading may not be the best approach. It is important to consider all options and seek guidance from reliable sources before making any major decisions. Consulting with an AI or using automated trading systems can also be helpful in managing investments while balancing other commitments.
@@lennoxmutterick6434 Oh please I’d love that. Thanks!.

You will never ever regret being generous 🙏🏼
This is Great!
I am so happy for him and his family.
Nice to hear a intelligent family soo blessed.
Yes....instead of buying things that you aren't really interested in....perhaps...once a year plan a very cool family vacation and build memories. They think you've saved all year to afford it...but really you are paying cash and building memories. Invest in memories with your family that doesn't revolve around things or disclosing why or how you could buy such and such. Love it!
He said he won along with his co-workers. Did he split the winnings with them? Did everyone keep it secret? How did it not get out?
I don't think he would have mentioned it if he stole, probably a powerfully or something 😊
Good question. Maybe they all had a contract where they agreed not to tell who won if they wanted to remain private.
To keep the peace between everyone, you are definitely helping them. I love this. Wow! I grateful for you and your wife. Praying that you continue to bless everyone around you with wisdom. This is so amazing.
This guy is awesome. Most people would have the unimaginable desire to brag and boast about it all over. Not to mention splurge on a nice big house or cars.
Well done sir.
Hello from Australia 🇦🇺
10/10 to this gentleman - very hard to do but just sink it into something you are comfortable with and live off dividends -
We sold our share in a business and our adult kids know but unaware of value. We sold the large family home and downsized but did buy my wife a new car cash.
💴
Love your philosophy Dave! No need to show you have millions!
If you tell your kids you won it will be all over Facebook before you finish telling them. You’re doing the right thing. You have that rare commodity of common sense.
Love this guy he is the lottery winner I aspire to be lowkey and out of the spotlight
He did a good job of acting. He's a Ramsey employee who got a $200 bonus for making the call.
I still don’t know what “John’s” question was because Dave never let him finish 🤷🏻♂️
I dont think it was really a question, but wanted a 2nd opinion on what he was doing is correct.
I think his “question” was basically, am I doing the right thing to keep it secret, even from my teenagers?
He never lets even his co hosts finish, nothing new.
This was a not a "question" call, bruh
@@MichaelCarrPilot he did it during the call to Dr. Deloney! And I liked what he was about to say I think lol
This is a problem we all wish we had.
Smart man. Doing a great job
Very level headed man. It’s hard to keep something like that a secret, but way to go! I’m very impressed by this stoey
As if none of his co-workers told the story of that big of a win including HIS name in the group. 😂😂 Ah, o.k. right.
Best prank ever.
No kidding. It's not all of his co-workers stayed at their jobs and didn't tell anyone at all.
Its true that whatever weakness or flaws you have gets magnified when great money comes in. I knew two people who had large windfalls and two years later had nothing to show for it, one was bitter the other gave it to family,
He won't be one of those lottery statistics. Good for him
This is getting shared to many loved ones and added to my homeschool videos. It’s the perfect mindset on money.
Man, that’s awesome. You don’t owe that knowledge to anyone. Keep living humbly. And I think it’ll be a good testimony to your kids to see how you lived despite having all that money.
