Steam: How to Remove Game from Library [Not Hide or Refund]

Ever wanted to permanently remove a game from your Steam library, either because you're uncomfortable with it being there or you want to upgrade to another edition of it, but can't through the store? Well, it's incredibly simple to do, and this video shows you how, with proof. By the end, you should be able to remove (not refund or hide) any game or DLC from your Steam library.

It doesn't remove the game completely. If you download it again it even mantains all your info an record.

This doesn't remove the game completely. I think that's not possible.

@@lukazashovski Late response but no, the original CD key will be locked/tied onto your account forever even if you somehow are able to purchase the game again through any means. (Ie GOTY/Deluxe editions will just add on to the original key, and gifted games will just reactivate the original key)

if you still are having trouble you can right click on the game in your steam library hover over manage and click remove from account. This works for any free game

sadly no as far as I’m aware. As I found out, steam will auto-subscribe some games onto your account like DOTA 2, Alien Swarm and yes, Team Fortress 2, so that you technically own them but all that’s left is for you to properly download them. I made the mistake thinking that downloading one of them will let me be able to get rid of DOTA 2. Nope. Steak themselves said they can’t do anything about it, so now I’m stuck with this game I don’t like hiding in my hidden games forever. It sucks.

Steam now generally has a "Complete your collection" option that make this (finally) unnecessary.

Someone i dont know got i to my steam account yersterday (steam notified me a session of a game was playing when i wasnt and shouldnt have been) and the next day i wanted to buy halo wars but was alos missing a couple dollars short (5 to 10 buck i ddint remenber the exact amount on my wallet) and to my suprise after checking for halo wars today (the day after) in my library a sexually explicit game was on my account as "rececetly bought yesterday". I coudnt just remove it normally vecause i found out someone thought it would be funny to buy a sexual game on a strangers account. So this tutuorial alloweed me to put in a redund.
