The ”straw goat” is a Julbock and a traditional Scandinavian christmas decor originating from Norse mythology! It’s in every house around the holidays, enjoy it ♥️
Drew, I don't know how you do it, but THANK YOU for the smooth camera work! I always get motion sickness watching other people's shaky videos, so I especially appreciate how good your camera work is. Thank you also for this video, it's a huge help to those of us who love IKEA but don't have a lot of time to shop - now I know where to bee line to when I get to the store! 👍🏼💖
What a genuinely kind man you are. I subscribe to Elysia English's channel. She shared how you went out of your way to help her and her family with the problems she was having with her channel. That was so very sweet of you. You had absolutely nothing to gain but you did it anyway. I wish everyone was like you. I'm a big fan of yours and have been a subscriber for a while. Love all you do.
The straw goat is a Swedish Christmas tradition, we have decorated with them since the 1800s. And I love how you called the Swedish dala horse a “pony” 😄
Thank you for sharing, since last Christmas we found out our son is autistic and I’ve been thinking of ways to create a better, more sensory friendly Christmas for him. The more natural, toned down Christmas tree and ornaments are perfect
I just want to say that I always see you mentioning other creator’s videos and making sure to say who/where you get your diy inspo from. It’s really nice to see that as your channel succeeds you still make it feel like a community! 💕
Drew thanks so much from helping out Elisha English with her channel issues. So nice to know someone would step up to help them! I have been watching them from the beginning and they deserved the help. I always love your videos!
I completely agree, they were so devastated on their video just prior to your intervention. I loved how giggly they were that the famous “Drew” came to their aid. Well done!
Just wanted to say THANK YOU!! for helping Elysia English navigate the youtube nightmare! It was so AWESOME of you - what a great guy you are!! Love, love your videos!
Hi Drew! I wanted to say that how you helped the Elysia English channel was awesome. Your such a great human being. Love your channel, your DIY's and all the inspiration you bring week after week.
Loved the video! Love IKEA! It’s Swedish!!! I used to live in Sweden and have several pieces of Swedish decor, bedding, throw pillows wall art etc in my home. You didn’t ask for this Swedish lesson but you seemed surprised at their “choices” as you stated, of color and texture usage. The ‘pony’ and other horse shaped items you saw are very traditional items. They are from Dallarna and are called Dallarhësta (dallar horse). Their homes there are styled minimally with light woods, open airy spaces, modernistic, with the colors of nature. Not just earthtones though. Vibrant primary colors in old traditional prints and patterns are a staple as well. That all being said, I appreciated what you loved and purchased and have inspired me to make a Vinter IKEA haul of my own. You always create beautiful eye candy in your videos and it has helped me think of what my sons might like in their homes! Keep up the great work!!
Love your videos! The cork pony is the outline of a Dala horse, and the straw goat is a Yule (Jule) goat! 💕 Nice to see them included in holiday decor ❄️
Hey Drew! Those pine balls are called "Kissing Balls". It's a German tradition. You hang it (embellished or not; I like to add ribbon and mistletoe to mine.) Up outside the front door or even just inside to greet guests. 😉🎄
Love your channel! I just want to mention that the “pony” is a take on the traditional Dala horse from Dalarna, Sweden. These are usually red or blue and have a unique, traditional painted pattern. Ever so often it seems ikea puts out products with their own spin on this traditional craft. The goats are also traditional but usually have beards, as well as the straw ornaments, loving them as a more sustainable decor item available for the holidays. Always look forward to your new videos!
Thank you so much and many blessings for what all you did to help out and show love to the Elysia English channel!!! You're a TRUE class act💗!!! I've been following you a few years now. Not sure if I've ever commented before. I have always loved your work and energy! Thank you sweetie 😘 Let's get this Holiday Season started!!! Yeah!!!
Those pine balls you weren't sure what to do with: there's someone who lives a couple blocks from me who has them in an outdoor window flowerbox all year round. If you want greenery in your window box but don't have a green thumb, they look surprisingly real. I actually touched them the first time (this neighbour lives on the ground floor). I live in a climate with snow six months of the year and they look amazing with snow on them, but the person leaves them out all year. Thought I'd share in case someone was curious and looking for an idea.
Dear Drew, thank you so much for this inspiring yet relaxing shopping-walk to Ikea! I enjoyed every moment of it. The esthetics of each shot, position of camera, your take on things and incredibly cute yourself - everythig is true joy for eyes. I totally share your exitement for those paper, felt & wooden Christmas ornaments. Stylish and minimalistic, very scandinavian. Definitely will get some for my Holidays this year. And you´re absolutely right about Christmas trees - they look cute too. I would never expect me to like something so poorly branched fake Christmas trees, but Ikea can style everything so that you start to love it.
I got one of those trees and it is awesome for hanging ornaments. Over the years we've pared down until every ornament has special meaning or is something we got because we fell in love with it. No room for "theme" trees in our house! Two strands of those thin wire led lights with battery power is plenty for the size. Also the tree fits on a round Ikea coffee table, so the gifts are in view and easy to reach even with physical limitations.
I love it when you take us shopping with you!! My fave was the organic looking ornaments you put on that fabulous tree! And i want to say thanks again for coming to Elysia English's rescue!! You're a doll! 💙✌
Wow, I honestly didn't even know Ikea did holiday collections, and boy have I been missing out!! I love all of the different tree sizes, especially the tinier ones. My ikea is over an hour away but maybe worth the trip! Thanks for a great video!
Thank you for helping Elysia English the other day!!! So many could have stepped in but you were the one and those of us that watch the both of you GLAD IT WAS YOU!!!!!! You both are amazing creators and I watch both of you!
I just wanted to stop in and comment about how amazing you are for blessing the Elisha English Channel and helping them out I truly love all your videos and there’s as well you are a blessing..
You are a beautiful, great and big heart. I was already your follower and Elisia english and I saw what you did for her and her family, helped her just with your open heart and try to recover her monitisation of her channel, YOU DID IT! THANKS. LOVE YOUR WORK 💕 🇵🇹 👍 😘
Awww the woodland wrapping paper reminds me...my son is 21 now but when he was born I did his nursery in a woodland theme complete with foxes, squirrels, pine trees and birds. So cute! :)
Hey Drew. I love your videos! Also heard what you did for the English family - you rock! You are truly a wonderful, generous and kind person. We need more people like you. I wish you and yours a wonderful holiday season.
Omg! The ersnas sideboard!! Thank you for sharing. I’ve been dying to get the anthropology mod reactive sideboard, but it’s $2000. With this ikea one, I feel like I could recreate the same color pallete and aesthetic! Maybe black metal legs/knobs (or black paint), and even a coppery sheet on top! Would save me over $1700!
I've never been in an Ikea store. I've heard that their prices are very good but I was totally surprised at what I was seeing! Oh, I could have a ball in there. And the winter collection is adorable. I saw sooooo many things I would snap up. It would be hard to choose. Loved the ceramic gnome with the tall hat. I'm going to have to see if there's an Ikea store near me. Thank you very much for the walk through! !!
Drew yes I LOVED todays "Shop with me at Ikea"!! I appreciate that you showed so many items including non Christmas. You have a great eye for style your whole apartment always looks like it was designed for a magazine photo opt! So your new Christmas selection from Ikea will give a cozy and festive in any room you choose. I'm liking the Fall and enjoying each day too.
Oh Drew you are so positive. That is why I watch you and Elysia all the time aside from all of your wonderful ideas. I loved all of the ornaments.. I like a full tree but by time you put all of those cool natural ornaments on it it will be perfect.
Hi there, this was the best IKEA trip I have ever seen. I am very glad that you speak so fast, so clear and sophisticated. I like the wrapping paper with the animals on it. Thanks. Best wishes from Wales, UK
I'm with you, I'm embracing Fall until the weekend after Thanksgiving. I finally got my indoor and outdoor decor together and just want to do a large inhale. Thanks for shopping at Ikea for me!
Wow Drew, so many cool things at IKEA. I really loved all of the ornaments that you picked up, I love that they are light weight and won't weigh down the branches. I also love a sparse tree, they are so much more fun to decorate. I really love IKEA and always have a lot of fun when I can go, my closest IKEA is 3 hours away, so when I get the chance to go I really have a list of what I want and will most likely pick up when I'm there. Thanks for another great video that I always enjoy. Sending love and hugs, bye for now.
Love, love the tree...and those paper ornaments!!! Also loved the star shaped wreaths; I think they would look great in a wall grouping of three with some embellishments. Love this video. It has inspired me to take a trip to Ikea which is only a half hour drive from my home. Thank you Drew for all your fabulous ideas and thank you for being such a sweet and kind person. I love you Drew!!!
I waited a whole day to see this as I arranged my newly remodeled place. Like the whole decorating vibs of this Ikea visit.thank you bunches. You are looking good too. Have the best Thanksgiving you have ever had.
I love the way you film your shop with me videos, it looks so professional and beautiful, it's very fun to enjoy this way. You show the pieces in almost a cinematic way which is amazing! Loved the vid
Thank you so much for helping Elysia English out! I have been subscribed to her since before she was even monetized and I am so thankful that you were able to fix the problem. She is a kind soul and so are you! I am now subscribed to you! Looking forward to some amazing content!
For the straw Christmas goat you should look up the Gävle goat! It’s really interesting to read about the tradition and the hilarious escapades over the years
I haven’t been to IKEA in such a long time. Watching this makes me want to go asap! I love the ornaments especially the paper ones. Also the black decanter/vase was beautiful. Thanks for sharing!
love that you purchased the sparse tree, gives the ornaments a change to really hang and shine regardless if they are paper or wood. You always make great videos keep up the great work!
The ”straw goat” is a Julbock and a traditional Scandinavian christmas decor originating from Norse mythology! It’s in every house around the holidays, enjoy it ♥️
We call them julebukk in Norway 🇧🇻🇧🇻
I bought one too!
It looks like it's made of corn husks... Right?
@@kendrarose1387 Corn doesn't grow in Sweden. They're made of straw.
And it’s olkipukki (strawgoat basically) in finnish 🇫🇮
Drew, I don't know how you do it, but THANK YOU for the smooth camera work! I always get motion sickness watching other people's shaky videos, so I especially appreciate how good your camera work is. I just bought my 1st humble home and watching your videos as inspiration. I love most specially your DYIs ❤️. Thank you!
Congrats on the new home!
The straw goat is a “julbock” and a traditional Swedish decoration :) we had the Christmas goat deliver presents before we adopted Santa.
I love the Christmas goat delivering delivering presents 🎁

I love IKEA oh so much!! Also I love how you organized this video and didn’t show only Christmas items, really appreciated.
Haha! Funny, because in America we just "kiss under the mistletoe".
where in germany are you from? Becuase i habe never hears about that
This is NOT a German tradition
I am German and have never heard of that
No sorry.... i am german... i have never heard these before 😂
The little tree in the white crock near your kitchen sink is my absolute favorite, its precious!!
Love your channel! I just want to mention that the “pony” is a take on the traditional Dala horse from Dalarna, Sweden. These are usually red or blue and have a unique, traditional painted pattern. It’s so cute!! Not sure if it’s final spot but I’ll make room for it 😂😂

Good old ikea they smash it everytime ,thanks Drew 💗
Hello, I enjoyed this shop along! My favorites were the dark green paper tree you picked up, the wrapping paper, and the felt pinecone ornaments.
I've been salivating over those pine benches for a month, I love the idea of having that shorter one as a low bedside table.
I've never been in an Ikea store. I've heard that their prices are very good but I was totally surprised at what I was seeing! Oh, I could have a ball in there. And the winter collection is adorable. Those straw goats are very traditional in Sweden around christmas. They build a giant straw goat in Gävle each year.
Crazy. Your ikea had everything! Just went to Minneapolis Ikea and they had maybe 1/10th of what your store had. I was so bummed!
