There was a coleco factory near where i grew up in Amsterdam Ny and my uncle worked at the landfill. I remember he brought home sealed boxes of the entire line of Sectaurs. Including the Hive and the ride on "vehicles"
This was a blast from the past. never seen the cartoon but i read some of the comics and had a couple figures. my dog chewed up the weapons i had, was really sad about that lol
This video freakin' rocked!!! I only have 3 of them. I wouldn't mind getting the other figures that I'm missing. I'm not interested in the puppet vehicles or the mini bugs, just the figures. And I totally agree with you about the 3.75 inch figures. Yes, part of the magic is in that 7 inch scale.
I had Dargon and the dragonflier. It was such an awesome toy made a lot of my friends very jealous even though none of them like Sectaurs. I just rebought Dargon today, great to have him again after 30 years.
@@tydiriumhanger1320 had them as a kid, I always wished I had kept them. By luck I scored almost the entire line near mint condition (and cheep) a few years back,
Wooow. I haven't seen these toys for a while and you got them all in a good shape after all the years? My respect upon at you !!!!! And still there are another figures characters around but they are prototypes already? ( and ultra expensive i see ) I'm speechless .... The cartoon episodes somehow sucked so bad, but the toys are just totally cool and really well done these action figures.
I have commander waspax and zach. As a kid I liked that they had holsters. I always wanted General Spidrax but I was so into GI Joe and they didnt scale with anything else I never got more figures. The marvel comic wasnt bad.
I was creeped out by these things. The bug faces were detailed and scary. I also cringed at the idea of humans mating with insects to birth hybrids. But I was intrigued by the opalescent/pearlescent metallic finish. The show let me down because they couldnt/didn't even try to duplicate that finish in the cel animation. My younger brothers gleefully threw them into their battles with MOTU action figures though.
These were my most desired toys when I was 5 or 6 (I was born in 1980). I saw the ads on tv, but never actually saw one in real life, or so I think. Although I totally forgot about the glove aspect of the toy lol.
This toy line freaked the shit out of me as a kid and while the toy line didn't involve a wasp as far as I can tell the reason it freaked me out is because of an incident that involved a wasp... And while I don't collect transformers anymore I couldn't have waspinator in my collection for the same reason when I was collecting transformers.
@@tydiriumhanger1320 I was 10 (I'm 46 now and still remember it like it was yesterday).. @@Kickback-dm7zt I was stung by one in the hand through thick gloves so I sprayed it with poison and took care of that problem but in the mouth would have been 100 times worse!
@@tydiriumhanger1320 there is only 1 way to describe a wasp /yellow jacket /hornet (all variants of "wasps" ) and that's " the spawn of Satan"... They serve no useful purpose and are nasty evil little buggers.
only thing i had close to this for fun catch. dragon fly s grass hoppers spiders & coconut beatle s are fun. catching & locus big flys those were my sectaurs & insectaurs
Boy, was that 1985 when that line came out… I always thought it was 1983 or 84… I always remember he-man and these guys around same time…then it was transformers and gi joe after that. Before all those lines it was Star Wars that kicked it all off. Funny how ya remember your toy time line in terms of years…

So... am I going to have to be the one to tell him that those things on their heads are called antennae and not tentacles or antlers? Insects 101. If you're making a video about an insect toyline you gotta know this stuff man. 😂 But seriously, cool toys. Never heard of them until recently. Another toyline that was never released outside the US. So the limbs break, the antennae snap off and the wings come loose if you breathe on them. Why was this toyline not more succesfull?
it wood not be a failure if Matel got the wright to it thee line wood of survive Matel is selling HeMan figurs it. wood be A great line if Matel took over buying the Comoany matel had there dede’s to but Came back
The thing is that MOTU is a much more popular and well-known toy line. Sectaurs wouldn't sell well on a large scale today. They didn't even do well in the 80's that's why the toy line and cartoon failed back then.
These were easily some of the coolest looking, creative toys of the '80s, if not all time. Loved these as a kid.
Thanks for the review. I think the Nacelle versions will be cool. These are cool toys and really creepy at the same time.
Whatever I’m doing stops when it’s retro Wednesday time. really good video Mike thank you I enjoyed it!!
Glad you enjoyed it is a great undervalued toy line!

Although a very brief toy line, I loved the concept and a friend had a couple back in 1986 - it was great.
These would have been so much fun back then too bad I never picked them up back then
Wow...I had a couple of these. Haven't thought about those in decades.
This was a blast from the past. never seen the cartoon but i read some of the comics and had a couple figures. my dog chewed up the weapons i had, was really sad about that lol
My dog loved MASK figures. They never stood a chance everytime I got one

Even though Skulk and the Spider don't have the mechanics he's the coolest one
Love my Sectaurs, beautiful line.
How long have you collected these? I knew of them since the 80s but only started on them last year
@@tydiriumhanger1320 had them as a kid, I always wished I had kept them. By luck I scored almost the entire line near mint condition (and cheep) a few years back,

It makes perfect sense that these were puppets when you realize that the Swedish Chef from the muppets was on this show as Pinsor
That is some interesting info on the show
@@tydiriumhanger1320 I wasn't talking about the voice actor, I was commenting on how both characters look the same

Yes these could be scary to kids! The animation was cheap heck they only ordered 5 eipsodes! They could work as beast for Heman to destroy LOL

The date on the figures was 1984 so they may have been out a full year before the show
They were produced in the factories in 1984 and released to stores in 1985.
Its antennas not tentacles
I got some of them I like you can put them with rambo force of freedom action figures because they probably used the same moulds
They are different moulds, but they are the same scale as the Rambo figures.
Would like information on where I can try to purchase some of those old toys
Right now Ebay and Facebook groups for vintage toys but Nacelle is making some new versions nacellestore.com/collections/sectaurs
Are the comics worth getting by the way? I'm debating of tracking them down
The Sectaurs comics are cool. They are definitely worth getting, and they aren't too expensive.
these must be the new virsion Of. motu figure for hasbro & zica & kenner
Condition new old stock, bro..?

I think the good guys and the vehicles look to simelar. Get the one you like the most and you dont really need the rest. Not good for big sales.

I am not familiar about this series, frankly speaking.
They were a flash in the pan 80s line that did not hold up to all the competition but could have if they were packed like Heman or Transformers
