He looks amazing but the originals have a feel that still could have lasted and not be touched at all. I like them bigger and with the vibrant colors. Still amazing that they are coming back! I really hope they do a bundle w Dragonflyer.
This was definitely one of the most unique and creative toy lines ever made. It is mainly the use of various material and contrast of color catch my eyes. Its good to hear they are re-issuing Sectaurs.
Also there were a ton of play features for Drangonflyer that stand out on their own. Such as the motorized wings and hands on extras made this toy very interactive.
I’m also a Sectaurs collector & they are exceptional figures. Their insect companions are great the accessories are a lot of fun. Great video Michael 👍
Such a cool, under appreciated toyline. I remember the summer my cousin Chris got Dargon, and my mom got me General Spidrax. We ran around my neighbourhood with these things on our arms and an old lady down the street thought they were real. I remember seeing the Hyve at Dutch Boy on Highland road, it was so big they had to keep it in the hardware section on the top shelf. Damn, I want to live forever in the heart of the 1980’s.
4 yrs old I got this and 34 yrs later I still have Dragonflyer. I can't describe the impact these toys had on me. Nerdmasté brother. Another great one!👍🙏
@@MichaelMercy 😆👻🐝🐜 I wish these lasted a lil longer. They died way too soon. Quality doesn't pay to put on the shelves, I guess. Glad they helped in your growth to becoming a well rounded human being.🙏👍
My brother and I had a few of the Sectaurs figures when we were kids. They were great! We had Dargon and Dragonflyer and the bad guy, General Spydrax with his Spider-Flyer, and a few others. Never had the base though. Great vid; brings back lots of memories. Keep up the great work sir!
Out of all the toys out there in the 80’s I wanted was Sectaurs. Unfortunately, I never got one, but this was a cool toy line. One of the best parts was the “vechiles”/bugs that each figure belong to. Thank You for the review and video!
Sectaurs is the best action figures line in the 80's in my opinion, here in Brazil we have only the nine single figures, years ago I buy the puppets and the amazing huge The Hyve playset, its my treasure !
These weren't common where I'm from but I had a friend with a few. They always amazed me as they were such cool looking figures. That was cool seeing the wings work after 30 years.
The 80s wasn't afraid to give their figs a lot of accessories. Even though I don't have the space or money right now to be buying these figs, I'm glad that a lot of them are making a comeback for classic collectors. I hope the line does well & they make more of them along w/ their insect allies. With everything else being rebooted/remake I could see a series on Netflix or Amazon.
I have some distant memories of owning some of these toys as a kid. I think i had some Sectaurs books also. One thing that i DO remember was always being wary of their eyes. They have creepy eyes!
That’s Awesome I had that for Christmas birthday. That’s awesome that you have that toy!!! It came out in a big toy box that’s amazing thank you review that awesome toy!!!
They are BEAUTIFUL figures. I'm missing Dragonflyer and Spiderflyer, otherwise I have a complete collection, even Night Fighting Dargon. The Hyve playset is, unfortunately, probably something I will NEVER own. Once again, great video.
Another great video Michael. Looking at that list you showed, I had all of those lines as a child of the 80s. If it was a cool figure, I usually wanted it (and generally still do).
The puppet feature was pure genius. Seems like today- if a toy is "innovative" it's just another buzzword (no pun intended) for "app enabled". The glove incorporated into the design of the creature was inspired. Simple, effective, and fun. I knew someone that had a couple of these. I really wanted one... almost had the parental unit convinced that it had value as inspiration for a budding entomologist before the dreaded "looks too demonic" surfaced 😂
Michael, That thing has such play value it is insane!!!! I vaguely remember these as I do not believe I ever owned any. They are really cool.👍 I prefer the traditional 3 3/4 line of action figures but those as as cool as any other figures that size. Thanks for always giving us collectors a peek into other different lines that most may have forgot about. I learn so much here.😁👍 Bill
Thanks Bill! Great thing about them was they were much more affordable than Kenner, Hasbro or Mattel toys, so I managed to get quite a few of these guys when I was a kid. Such a great blend of artistry and play value!
This vid was awesome I've seen these over the yrs and think I will go and make my first purchase after this, right up my street. Loved the laser effect lol 😂😂😂 Subbed 👍🏻
These were my He-Man. I never liked the Masters of the universe figures and told my parents not to buy them. One year my aunts found the sectaurs line on sale or something. It was probably 1986 or 1987. Either way they got me the entire line and I fell in love instantly. These were probably the best engineered toys I have ever had. the sculpts and accessories were so much better than anything else I had seen in my childhood. I used to spend hours with my hands in those black gloves flying around the house or neighborhood. As a kid my eyes were drawn to things like holsters and saddles and Sectaurs had it in spades. GI Joe will always be my favorite toys but as crazy as it sounds I liked Sectaurs better than Transformers (probably because I actually had Sectaurs lol).
My theory to why they didn't shrink the box for Dargon and his Dragonflyer: Coleco knew Hasbro with Transformers and GI Joe were at it's peak in 1985 with the Constructicons/Devastator and the USS Flagg respectively, so they knew they HAD to grab the kids' attention in the toy stores. Now, I may be wrong maybe Sectaurs came before Devastator and the USS Flagg. As I've stated before, I was not only born in 1989, I'm Swedish as well so I didn't know ANYONE who had either of these toys growing up.
I never had these but...I remember thinking how gorgeous looking they were, never saw the cartoon rarely saw the commercial too. I wanna say the show came on during a time when 1 of my favorite shows was on. Also being a little girl I hated &was terrified of bugs, even these pretty bugs. These and Visionaries I wanted but we just couldn't afford them, loved Visionaries show still have the DVD bootleg lol. What gorgeous toys these were, I hope Hasbro makes Visionaries again with the legit holograms on them&better articulated limbs. Accompanied with a Netflix show they'd make money bigtime
Ah Sectaurs... one of the great also-rans of the 80's. I think of this a lot like Visionaries, a line that seemed to have some good ideas and almost got it right, but somehow it didn't work out. I still remember all the toy ads in the comics, and the short lived comic / toon. Something about the toys never drew me in. I think it might have been the size, that I never saw many around, or I think maybe the coloured 'bug' eyes put me off. I remember not liking the idea of the glove gimmick either. However, this review makes the figures look really good (and those wings look beautiful...). I feel sad I missed out on owning at least one now. Let's see what eBay has to say about that...
Sectaurs are back at BIGBADTOYSTORE! bit.ly/2lHag4Y_NewDargon
He looks amazing but the originals have a feel that still could have lasted and not be touched at all. I like them bigger and with the vibrant colors. Still amazing that they are coming back!
I really hope they do a bundle w Dragonflyer.
These were great quality toys. They paints and sculpts are wonderful. The puppet concept and those iridescent wings are fun!
This was definitely one of the most unique and creative toy lines ever made. It is mainly the use of various material and contrast of color catch my eyes. Its good to hear they are re-issuing Sectaurs.
True, you didn't see so many different materials being used on a figure back then. Kind of a blend of small action figures and 12" figures.

80's forever!💚
I miss the old toy section in Dutch Boy. I had one by my house, so I could ride my bike to look at toys anytime I liked.
4 yrs old I got this and 34 yrs later I still have Dragonflyer. I can't describe the impact these toys had on me. Nerdmasté brother. Another great one!👍🙏
Thanks Bud! For a kid who didn't like creepy things, I adored all of my Sectaurs! Probably a big reason why I don't mind spiders to this day. :D

I love sectaurs I’m so glad there bring them back
I never had one of those but my friend had that one and i have the privilege play with this one.
Ohhhh I forgot I even had this as little boy... but I did - thanks for re-awakening happy memories :)
One of my all time favorite toys growing up. Even seeing them in this video gives me happy nostalgic feels! :D Thanks for this video!
I has the dragon flyer without the wings. It scared the crap out of my niece!

This was an awesome flashback! Thank you.
Wow! I had one of these guys! Thanks for bringing them back!

I stopped Playing Dragon Quest XI to watch this lol
Thanks Doyon!

Wow, the wing trick worked!! Great to see spider flyer flapping in all his glory again!! Thanks Michael!!

I had *ALL* of these! Everything except for the castle of the Dark Domain, but I had all the figures. My fave was Trancula and his rider, Skulk.
Show love to the toys and they will love you back! So amazing he wanted to fly again!!!
I had him and the tarantula guy and would have a puppet on each hand battling it out as I ran around the house. Great toys

Great toy line. I remember having some of the ones that did not come with the puppet beast.
These were pretty cool toys!

Still surprised my mom bought me them. I recall it took some convincing! 😆
I remember those, never got lucky finding them on stores 😕
Great video Mr Mercy ✌🏽👍🏽

I agree! 👍
They look great and so many cool features on them.
I only had one these guys growing up and it was Pinsor the battle beatle. instead of the mouth gimmick it had giant crushing claws.
Great video, these really interest me.
Great vídeo, and amazing toy. Love Sectaurs.
Greetings from Argentina 👋
I had Darg9n and his steed, and his buddy with the snapper little critter.
This vid was awesome I've seen these over the yrs and think I will go and make my first purchase after this, right up my street.
Loved the laser effect lol 😂😂😂
Subbed 👍🏻
I Watch thats cartoon and i loved this
The tarantula one was the coolest. My mom almost wouldn't get it for me. She thought it was disgusting. Lol. She eventually caved.😊😊

YES!!!!!!
Hello from Australia.
Dang i remember those

Yes, more Netflix shows! I'd love to see a line like Sectaurs or Visionaries that had so much potential brought back.
Beautifully created toys, both in looks and engineering. What do kids have now? A staggering amount of toys about playing with poop...
Those wings are impossible to keep pristine! How did u manage to keep it so beautiful?
All my wings popped out and I only have 2 left😥
It had a very caring owner before me. My original is long gone, got this one on Ebay years ago.
Ah Sectaurs... one of the great also-rans of the 80's. I think of this a lot like Visionaries, a line that seemed to have some good ideas and almost got it right, but somehow it didn't work out. I’m not familiar with this toy line but I might get the new ones
I can’t believe that figure is 34 years old, thats amazing condition, are you a time traveler?
What where the toys with holograms inside them not visionarys another kind the full body front came off??
Supernaturals, from Tonka.
*Alex* V-i-P Super Naturals Ghostlings?
How does it scale with the Motu Classic line?
dark6soldier perfectly, do you want to display Decatur’s and more together though?
