    interesting! question: can you have a mono sequencer running some notes that are arpeggiated (lets say on track 1). and then use the harmonize feature to let the arps on track 1 follow chords played live on a separate track in oxi?

    • @oxiinstruments
      @oxiinstruments  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Exactly , that’s one of the use cases of the harmonizer. It’s also good for basslines!

    Is it possible to program the Arp to play the notes in every possible sequence, not only up or down, maybe 1,3,2,2,4,1,1,3 ? and tie or rest steps ? Like Blue-Arp ?

    • @oxiinstruments
      @oxiinstruments  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, there are more than 20 arp modes but for that you need to use the sequencer.

    hello! i just ran into this device with this video as the first one i am seeing.... i had a quick question- there are no visible cables running into or out of the device... but i'm guessing its not battery powered and also there is no internal synth or samples? so how is it powered and what is it connected to and how in this video? thank you!

    Why isn't there a bass mode for the other sequencer to always play the right bass note of each chord? That is essential in my opinion. As it is now, the sequencer you program as the bassline will likely play mostly inversions of the chords, even though the chord voicing is set to root position. There should be a feature where a sequencer is set to always play the bass note of the chord, instead of harmonizing to the closest chord tone in the sequence.

    • @oxiinstruments
      @oxiinstruments  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You have several ways to have the bass following the chords.
      Either enabling the bass in chord mode or using a sequencer set to harmo mode.

    • @leonardocaminati6432
      @leonardocaminati6432 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@oxiinstruments Thanks for the quick reply. Yes, I'm using a sequencer set to harm mode. But most of the time the result is the bass note not being the root of the chord but the 3rd or 5th instead. This makes the chord an inversion, even though the chord sequencer is set to root position. I left a much more thorough message about this as a feature request in your forum. Please reference it there and let me know if what I'm saying makes sense or if there already is a way to accomplish what I'm saying. To my understanding when I set a sequencer in chord mode, it's a poliphonic sequence, even though I enable the bass, so I can't really send that to a monophonic bass midi instrument or cv module, otherwise it's going to be a mess. Am I correct?

    • @oxiinstruments
      @oxiinstruments  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@leonardocaminati6432 you can use the bass feature of the chord mode and send it to a different midi channel. But if you want to create a different rhythmic pattern you can:
      - Send the bass to a MIDI channel that is not being used by any synth.
      - The bass will always be the lowest note and also, the root note of the chord (not an inversion).
      - In the follower sequencer (mono or poly set to HARMO), place notes in the first row to make sure they play the bass note.
      Let us know if this works and we can add this info to your post!

    fantastic! quick question: can the arp rate be set by step? (p-lock style)

    • @oxiinstruments
      @oxiinstruments  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can modulate the Arp settings per step with the:
      - Internal MODulation lanes
      You can also modulate the Arp settings with:
      - Internal LFOs
      - External CV input

  • @tendingtropic7778
    @tendingtropic7778 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Wow, how do you get the sequencer to run so 'slowly' at 0.36 despite the tempo is at 120 bpm? (1 bar per chord it seems)

    • @oxiinstruments
      @oxiinstruments  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The time division of the chord progresion is 1 Bar per step/chord.
      And the division of the chord arpeggiator is 1/16th which goes up to 1/48.

    I am certain this sequencer is amazing and have wanted one for a while but I’m borrowing a friends to try out before buying and I gotta say this thing is anything but intuitive. I come from an Elektron background so I assumed I’d at least understand the basics but definitely not. I managed to make a loop in chord mode. You’re doing yourself a huge disservice by not making a series of clear tutorials starting with the absolute basics of creating a new project. I’ve gone from needing one of these to thinking probably not. I’m still gonna try to get used to this thing but I’m not feeling optimistic

      I seriously believe it's great value for money .The possibilities you have from learning this maschine are mind blowing. There are plenty of other mono sequencers out there that give you 5% of what the oxi gives you, asking for more . It all depends if you are willing to study and learn this sequencer.

    • @vertigev
      @vertigev ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agree to disagree. While it does look like a great sequencer and would pair well with my modular, it's certainly not great "value for money". An MPC One is a great value for money, this is just a sequencer. If it was a groovebox with its own sounds and synths, then yes, I would be willing to pay that price.
