I met the amazing Muriel Anderson at a concert in Indiana and didn't realize that she played bluegrass. She said she had played bluegrass for five or six years. She can play any genre of music for my money. Fantastic entertainer.
I've always said that the "classical guitar" is the best all-round guitar there is, it can play anything. And in Muriel's hands, here's the proof. But she has a head start on everyone else : her smile lubricates the strings and melts the audience.
WOW is this lady for real, not only is she beautiful, she plays beautiful too. on a scale of 1 to 10 ..10 being the highest, i give her a 12 + young lady u dont need a harp guitar, you do it all on a regular guitar..........you were wonderful AAAA

She deserves so much more recognition for her phenomenal talents. One of the finest musicians I have ever had the privilege of seeing in concert.

Met Muriel only once, in 1980 or '81 at Bill Monroe's Bean Blossom Bg Festival. We had a few good jams during those 11 days. Her Bluegrass rhythm playing was extremely solid. Two prominent professional players noticed it from a distance and commented, and were impressed even before they knew she was a female. No kidding, her rhythm guitar work was every bit as driving as Del McCoury's rhythm (something of which he is a bit underrated, I think). Natural talent is hard to find, but easy to recognize.
I met and sat around the campfire with the Wildwood pickers way back in the earlier 80 s Muriel was a bit older than me so to be honest I really liked sister Sue more my age, it was really fun hanging out with them .
She plays like I do. Then I wake up, have breakfast, take a shower and go to work. Amazing really. She's also a fabulous teacher. I have her 1-2-3 Fingerstyle Guitar DVD which is great instruction and inspiring play.
I had a great C.D with Muriel demonstrating some Vintage Chicago accoustic guitars ( Larsen) She played a different piece on each instrument ending with the harp guitar. What an ambassador for bluegrass ( and Irish music, for that matter )
I am new to youtube and would like to know if I can get a copy of this music. My only reason is that I really like the music. CD, Cassette, [no 8-track], Vinyl, Download. Help, I am waisting away without this music.
