- Every game has its own campfire stories, its own myths and legends, its own creepypastas. Sonic.exe, Ben Drowned, Lavender Town and Minecraft is no different. In August of 2010, one 4chan user set out to create Minecraft first very own creepypasta. Inadvertently creating one of the most well known legends to ever exist. And he named his creation... Herobrine.

The reason most people believed the herobrine trap video was real was because that was a version of Minecraft pocket edition where you couldn’t change your skin. Looking back on it, it was probably a mod.

One changelog (I can't remember which version), stated something like "Removed all ghost entities under the command of Lord Herobrine", which adds to another part of his mythos of Herobrine being depicted as the leader of the hostile mobs and having them as his pawns to do his dirty work
i remember when i was trying to summon herobrine from those tutorial videos, and was so disappointed when they didn't work.

Once I made a minecraft world on xbox called Hunt for Herobrine and I saw 1 floating water block (which was common for legacy edition) and I deleted it instantly and slept next to my parents that night because i thought that herobrine was coming for me

I made my first nether portal and my first enchantment table hunting for Herobrine such nostalgia.
When I was a kid, I had a minecraft world that I LOVED a lot, it had diamonds, emeralds, I even had a dragon egg but one day, I went in mining and when I heard a cave sound and I got scared that it was Herobrine so I deleted my world ;-;

Once I had started a world with my dad and upon biting it up, we spawned on an island with a spruce door just sitting there. Needless to say, I didn’t open that world after that.

re: the dead miner bug; there's actual footage of this happening to Jo in the alpharad deluxe minecraft videos. considering the rest of the way the videos are framed, and the version they're on (xbox 360, i think), it was likely not staged, and was probably an invisible zombie that hadn't spawned correctly.
I remember making totems and stuff with my brother lol we were playing one day and the script popped up that herobrine joined the game, we were freaking tf out. Ended up being my dad, he thought it was hilarious that we were screaming from the other room.

The best feeling in the world was playing on xbox 360 edition with the herobrine skin on and your name off. When you would scare your friends and you would claim to be "off mining" or doing something else and acting like you had no idea what was going on.
