Love it: "Scrappy but Happy!" Should put that on a wall hanging. 😂 I used to have a trivet that said Our house is clean enough to be healthy and dirty enough to be happy. TFS
I love that saying ha! I think so often people don't eat a meal or use leftovers or stay on budget because it would look scrappy. It's hard to use everything and stay on budget and manage that in a busy schedule and not be a bit scrappy - but scrappy can be so happy! I don't need perfect meals, ultimately I just want my kids fed, but scrappy food can still provide such a happy mealtime. We don't need perfect food and the quest for it can make things too hard.
@thewholehome Kezia I REALLY appreciated your honesty about when the DOR with kid feeding drains your emotional battery. We have a child who struggles with food textures and then one just younger who is in a “no sauce” phase. Really trying to practice DOR and not yell but that costs me a lot of energy. I’ve tended to planing a lot of variety and it had driven up the food spend and sometimes left overs waste 😢 I’m wanting to get a better grip on that before our summer. They have free school lunches so summer is a culture shock for us all!
I’m always happy to be honest - It can be so hard so we need to be honest right?! I really hear you. We can only do what we can do with our capacity. Some of those stages or complications with eating have so many factors too - you’re amazing.
I’ll come back and post the recipe but they’re coconut oil (about 2T) nut butter (about 1T) and honey (about 1T) and mixed together, then some cocoa (a few Ts) and salt mixed in and then oats added in. Then I dollop it all on a tray and pop them in the freezer! When it’s hardened, chop it up into chunks :)
Sorry it took me so long to respond! If you email me kezianeusch@gmail.com I can send you the ebook with it in. And I’m planning on doing a video with the process in the next few weeks :)
I follow channel of mum of 8 kids, she cooks diary free meals from scratch as one of the kids has life threatening allergy to diary products. It is called 3 rivers homestead, maybe you like it too
Happily eggs are back 😅. We were trying to figure out a food sensitivity for one of the kid’s skin. But happily it’s not eggs. They are still off dairy though 😭 but I’m happy to know what it is and have the issue solved for now.
@@thewholehome egg is easy lunch option too😉 my son has food allergies from young age. He is 11 now, but still eats coconut milk instead of diary milk and corn noodles instead of wheat spaghetti. We as a family got used to it, but at the beginning it was hard(

New to your channel. Really enjoyed this video. Would love the recipe for those chocolate freezer bars you showed toward the end of the video????

Ah it’s so hard to navigate that level of reaction! I’m thankful it’s just a sensitivity! I’ll look her up :)
🥰😍
No eggs in a diet? Due to allergy?
