Love Mirai, the quality of Ryan puts out is second to none. While I do listen to others o prefer to watch Ryan's videos as he has a gift but also has the heart of a teacher which makes him that much better! I wish I could afford live but it's just not in the cards right now. Thank you for what you do! Keep the amazing content coming!
I started when I saw @bonsai releaf first video. I then found @herons bonsai and finally you just last night. The first was very tranquil and inspirational. You and Herons are very very educational and I thank you! I went to my local nursery and picked up a Dwarf Alberta Spruce about a week ago. In comparison to the ones you and Herons work with, it's very young and pliable. I brought it home, inspected it and started the design process. I took about an hour trimming and imagining the future of the tree. I cut one apex and the thing looks amazing!! Since doing that, I've found your videos and have learned much more. The biggest piece of info was when and how to trim and wire. I worry that I've messed up by cutting and bending this late in spring. I also cut the needles off of the inside of the branches and didn't think much of it until this video. I put it in a bonsai pot, with the soil it came in as to not induce too much shock. Two part question: Did I screw up by trimming like I did, during this season? Would it be healthier in a bonsai mix soil? I'm going to upload a video right now of it as it is if you'd like to take a look.
awesome content and i'm someone who used to grow bonsai but haven't for 25 years due to moving around and travelling the world etc.. I'm going to get back into it so this was great, I'm a huge fan of pines/conifers etc as bonsai so there is where I will be concentrating my efforts.
would it be possible to cover the aspects of collecting and caring for yamadori, like when/where to collect and then how to properly maintain a tree while it becomes established in it's new location.
Thanks! This helps with the few Doug fir and spruce I have grown from seed. I'm seeing the progress from last years pruning and im inspired to go prune the spring growth now!
I was able to rescue a couple dwarf alberta spruce from a neighbor's yard - they have nice trunks but long branches. If I pinch the tips back consistently, will they back bud and branch closer to the trunk?
I just got a norway spruce seedling about 10inches tall. How long should I let it grow before starting to manipulate it like this? I am new to all of this.
I love my spruces. Good starter trees. The dwarfed needles on mountain peaks are so different than what's at lower altitudes in the same area. I wanna plant trees high up and see what happens. Like Mr. Miyagi. As long as they aren't invasive of course.
I started a Ponderosa Pine from seed and was shocked by how long the needles are. It seems to be a slow grower, but it is just covered in needles. should I just wait and see or start some needled ;plucking to reveal the structure. Based on the needles I imagine this species is not a good candidate for bonsai?
What happens with the gouging or indentations the wire make in some of the branches? For example as seen here 16:25 I know that tree damage is essentially permanent and they heal by absorbing the wound, but does that affect tree lifespan?
Hi I’m new to bonsai i have a picea Alberta globe and finding it a pretty difficult tree to style due to its very full foliage at the end of the branches what would be your advice?
The Picea Alberta are not commonly used as bonsai despite having small needle growth a lot of people get one early on in their bonsai journey but few seem to ever become specimens. I have had one for about 10 years just a little pinching early seems to be effective at redirecting energy to weaker areas lower down combined with removal of third shoot where they originate at the same point. I have had reasonable success so far tree seems healthy and vigorous and back buds fairly strongly. I am in the UK and pinch top late spring. Structural pruning late in the season.
i cant stand when people begs like romanians for subscriptions and likes ,, so had to forward video lots .. bet i missed out on some stuff. please dont be so beggy and needy.. .
Wait, what? That’s some xenophobic remark you made first of all and second, if you don’t like the content, why don’t you skip it? Now coming back to my first point, I do know quite a few Romanians and none of them are beggars, or at least not more than other nations.
The amount of knowledge he is providing is phenomenal.
as well as Herons Bonsai
Of course, he is extremely informative. But it is the way he delivers and articulates the information. Utter poetry! I could listen to him all day.
You are my number one guy to go if I have any doubts about the art of bonsai and everything related. Thank you for sharing!

Bought a Blue Spruce on a whim a couple months ago with no idea what to do with it. Now I do after watching this superb video!
I love Kendall’s voice. It’s very musical.
This is honestly such an informative video. I've come back to re-watch it several times now. Well done 👌
Ton of information this is what I've been looking for very informative answered lots of questions for my spruces thank you
I’m intimidated by all of the terms!😮 I’m gonna do it though. I’ve selected 2 Eastern White Cedar and 1 White Spruce. I’m stoked.🎉

Wow Thanks Mirai this video showed up on a perfect timing when I am about to work on my blue spruce
Oldies but goodies!!!🤣😂🤣😂. It gets funnier every time I hear it.
Love watching you work and your explanation process! Thank you!
The best channel to learn bonsai
This was great! Thank you.
Very good and understandably explained.
Sam has the voice of an angel…
Good nudge, I've not watched any Mirai Live for ages. I'll make a point of getting on it this evening.
Great Stuff! Phenomenal balance of technical knowledge with artistic application.
GREAT VIDEO! Please tell me when (what months) can I trim the tip buds, make twos out of threes? So as to draw energy back to stimulate back buds.
Excellent information, just ready to start my first tree. Well explained and very good camera work to see you work the pads as you explain it.
Awesome video! Very informative. Thank you!

A science is made of it. I just prune them like i want and never got any problems
I shall watch this video 10 times.
Can't wait to apply this knowledge to my Colorado blue spruce.
Amazing! Beautiful tree as well.
Amazing videos! Although, there hasn't been a video in over 3 months now. Any updates on when we can expect more?
This was amazing, thank you Mirai👍
A M A Z I N G. Thanks for providing this great Knowledge
bonjour .J ai apprécier votre vidéo cela est très utile .A QUEL PERIODE VOUS TAILLER ? ET LE REMPOTAGE A QUEL EPOQUE ?
thank you so much for this video, so informative! I have learned so much watching you :)

Is it okay to do a big cut in first week of winter
I just got a norway spruce seedling about 10inches tall. How long should I let it grow before starting to manipulate it like this? I am new to all of this.
If you pinch will energy not be redirected to the roots?

Yeesh! That old wire damage looks painful
Can anyone tell me what time of year hes doing this? Coming into or after Spring?
Is this similar for Douglas Fir?

very valuable video. thank you...
Buenas tardes disculpen por favor podrían considerar subtítulos en Español muchas gracias l
How long do you leave the wire on for?
For...ever......for...ever....forever.
So graceful

Ojalá un día puedas traducir tus capítulos al español
Is that a tree style that you see in nature?? I like a more natural looking tree.
Subtitles say i subscribed to bone samurai
Love it
He uses a term I'm not familiar with. Foyer? Folier? Begins with an "f". Anyone help me out?
Foliar. Having to do with leaves.
Like drinking from a fire hose, thank you very much
Oooooh this is a spruce, i got seeds of it but i thought it was some kind of pine
