@@CaptKashi That melody is played over [what seems like] a common chord progression, but it's done in a way that doesn't make it as obvious. A lot of good Jewish music uses chord progressions where the intervals are farther apart. Maybe this is why some of the songs have strong vibes. The chords, being farther apart [from the preceding chord] in the scale, creates the awe that works for a lot of music including that which is used in epic movies.

@@BigShaneGillis it's not creepy. my opinion of religion isn't that high but it's nice to see boys that age be exited and happy to do something, they'd get bullied mercilessly in most places.
This gets exceptionally trippy when you think about the fact that the lyrics were likely written by King David himself. Even if they weren't, the words are still more than 2000 years old. I doubt the person who composed this psalm ever imagined it being performed like this but I'm sure they'd be pleasantly surprised.

All I understand is that this group of boys is singing from the bottom of their souls, every one, and means every word they sing. I'm not a fan of organized religion in any context, but these boys' singing reminds me what is good about it - it's hard to imagine people who could share such joy being in any way judgmental. The deeper message of this song was taught to me by my Rabbi on the day I left Israel (after studying there for 15 months) to head back home to college and start the next chapter of my life. The main verse in this song is 'Yerushalayim Harim Saviv Lah' which was written by King David in Psalm 125. The literal translation is that 'Jerusalem is surrounded by mountains' My Rabbi pointed out that is geographically correct (for anyone who has been to Jerusalem, youcan easily see from almost anywhere there are many mountains that surround it) Is that all King David was trying to point out? Something that we can so obviously see with our own eyes? The deeper explanation of this verse my Rabbi told me is that Jerusalem is known to be a place full of light, holiness, joy, purpose, connection, peace, and so much more. In other words, Jerusalem is one's 'ultimate destination' or the maximization of ones potential, when we feel most alive. But that Jerusalem, that place within each of us that we yearn to tap into, is surrounded by mountains. It is surrounded by obstacles of the challenges of this world. Health, relationships, finances, mental wellbeing, etc. We pray when singing this verse that we have the strength and passion to climb those mountain in life so we can reach our inner Jerusalem no matter where we are in the world. Sending blessing to all!
@@Humannbeingthe comment you’re replying to explains that the song isn’t about the literal city of jerusalem but is a metaphor for spiritual fulfilment

*THE GOSPEL* there is a God in Heaven, He created us, we were created to worship Him, enjoy Him, and delight in Him, but because of our rebellion and sin, we were thrust from the thrice holy Presence of GOD, making us enemies of our Creator, deserving of death and eternal damnation in hell. however, the LORD GOD, out of His compassion, love, and mercy gave His only begotten Son, JESUS CHRIST, to take on human flesh. Christ came not to be served, but to serve, and to give His Life as a Ransom for many. Christ died on the cross because of our sins, the Just for the unjust, the Sinless for the sinful, the Righteous for the unrighteous, and He was risen to life for our justification, to make us right with GOD. by the grace of God through faith, we can be reconciled to our Creator through our Savior, Who is both LORD and God. - JESUS CHRIST is LORD and He loved us while we were still sinners to die for our sins and be raised from the grave for our justification as the sinless, perfect Lamb of GOD, Who takes away the sin of the world, fulfilling the righteousness that the law requires, which we, sinners by nature, could never fulfill. for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of GOD. however in this present age, we may now be saved by the grace of GOD through faith in Him alone, followed by the act of repentance or the turning away from all of our sins. we must be born again. JESUS CHRIST is the Way and the Truth and the Life. ✝️

I’m not sure how as a 25 year old Christian from the U.K. this came up on my tiktok fyp but I’m so glad it did! It’s so nice to see a group of young people (especially boys!) love being part of a choir. You can tell that they love what they’re doing because their joy while performing is infectious! Made me miss my days in choir when I was at school.
Is choir not mainly a boy thing anyway though? Like all the famous children choirs I see are full of boys. King’s college is another good example. I can’t actually remember the last time I saw an all girls choir on this kind of level which sucks. I’ll give you that plenty of older women are in popular choirs though.
Kol Isha basically means that a woman’s singing voice should not be heard by men, hence the prevalence of so many boys choirs. Have you seen any orthodox Jewish girls choir?

I'm a Binyomin stan, but they all have their talents. I feel like Yoshi and C are slept on. Yoshi may not have the best voice out of all of them, but he brings a good energy and stage presence and is a strong start to the song. Love the pose he strikes at the end of his solo. C may seem timid, but he has a good voice and sets David up for success with that perfect buildup. David is a star with a great voice and great stage presence. He makes the song so hype. Binyomin keeps David's energy and blows everyone away with his amazing vocals. That boy can sing! Personally, I think that Yoshi and C could have shined more if they had gotten the chorus parts that David and Binyomin did, but they all did great

As an atheist, I don't think I can ever believe in something, but the community and power that comes from faith like this is so heart warming.
Why do you refuse to recognize that there is a creator to this complex magnificent world?

The deeper message of this song was taught to me by my Rabbi on the day I left Israel (after studying there for 15 months) to head back home to college and start the next chapter of my life.
The main verse in this song is 'Yerushalayim Harim Saviv Lah' which was written by King David in Psalm 125. The literal translation is that 'Jerusalem is surrounded by mountains' My Rabbi pointed out that is geographically correct (for anyone who has been to Jerusalem, youcan easily see from almost anywhere there are many mountains that surround it)
Is that all King David was trying to point out?
Sending blessing to all!

there is a God in Heaven, He created us, we were created to worship Him, enjoy Him, and delight in Him, but because of our rebellion and sin, we were thrust from the thrice holy Presence of GOD, making us enemies of our Creator, deserving of death and eternal damnation in hell. however, the LORD GOD, out of His compassion, love, and mercy gave His only begotten Son, JESUS CHRIST, to take on human flesh.
-
JESUS CHRIST is LORD and He loved us while we were still sinners to die for our sins and be raised from the grave for our justification as the sinless, perfect Lamb of GOD, Who takes away the sin of the world, fulfilling the righteousness that the law requires, which we, sinners by nature, could never fulfill. for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of GOD. however in this present age, we may now be saved by the grace of GOD through faith in Him alone, followed by the act of repentance or the turning away from all of our sins. we must be born again. JESUS CHRIST is the Way and the Truth and the Life. ✝️

He’s ridiculously good. I was about to comment the same thing.
Frrr
That’s Yair Kenig!! He is amazing and he has his own solo song at this concert, so good!
do you not realize this is lip synced
My guys at 3:13 are severely underrated. I love them
AGREED.
Faves without a doubt
the tiktok skimped on them fr
I love them too! (Although it appears they’re lip syncing) am I the only one 🤔 lol still an amazing song regardless ❤
he shouldve been the one who had the solo not david
These boys are FANTASTIC! I just randomly found this video.
The singers at 3:14 are so underrated, their chemistry together is amazing
they got those "best friends in real life"-vibes going on
At 3:20 you can clearly see the joy of singing in his smile!
i’m sure they were so happy they got the solos near each other like that lol
My jaw dropped at 1:04, his voice is beautiful, that kid is absolutely killing that solo, at that point, I knew the rest of it was going to be a masterpiece
Every time I hear his voice paired with his expressive arm movements I ascend to another dimension. It's such a fun video.
His name is David
Definitely the best solo in a group of pretty impressive ones.
Charisma
MY balls dopped at 1:09
Somehow??? this got mixed in with my group's Dungeon and Dragons soundtrack playlist the other night... when I say we dropped EVERYTHING to watch this entire performance. 2 billion thumbs up
This could be like the victory song!
Mad to think that they’re all in their 20s at this point seeing as this was filmed in 2008.
More than that, most of them are fighting in the IDF now. Legends.
Can we just talk about how hard the guitarist and saxophonist are shredding in this masterpiece!
Yes!
@blahblah4129 Yeah well then lets get it flowing !!!
Even the conductor?? Mans got the voice of an angel
He trains the boys in proper singing techniques. He's been training boys choirs since he was 16, and running MBC since 1977. He has also produced one or two solo albums.
just LOOK at that face at 3:18. Such joy! These kids are absolute legends for this!
Pure joy.
So funny to see this go viral I watched this choir as a kid in the 80's they have new kids every few years, still today.
I'll never understand why I get so weirdly emotional every time I watch this... I have no prior connection to the religion or the song whatsoever, but it just gets me every single time.
You have a jewish sould. Check your lineage on your mother's side
That is the spirit inside of u thirsting for spiritual medicine. If that is how u feel the Spirit of God is with you.. as it was written every tree brings forth its fruit in its own season… great things are happening! May Adonai Bless You and Guard You! 😊
music does that.
It’s the Holy Spirit moving through the music… that’s what experiencing the Lords presence feels like. God bless.
I was so moved by this group of young teens praising the Lord with such enthusiasm! These parents are raising their children on the right path. I know these boys are filled with the Holy Spirit! One cannot deny the presence of the Lord Almighty while watching this. I’m deeply moved by this and I feel the Lord guided me to discover this to show me that this is affirmation of this generation to soar like eagles and renounce the worldly custom and to get back to roots and worship the only true living God.
The Lord gave me prophetic word regarding this exact word in Hebrew “ saba yoshi sâma”
Confirming that a revival for the Lord is coming through the pre teens generationand it references scripture in 1 kings 13:2, 2 kings 22:1 , 2 kings 22:3, 2 king 23:19, 2 kings 23:28 , 2 chron 34:33, 2 chron 35:1, 2 chron 35:7, 2 chron 35:18 , 2 chron 35:22, jet 1:2, Her 1:3, Jer 25:1, Jer 36:1
Prophetic word given @redeemingthunder
This is the best choir performance I’ve heard, my brain just LOVES their amazing clear tones. Gorgeous singing.
Thank you!!! I’ve watched the TikTok an embarrassing amount of times and have had this song in my head for the last two days 😂 I love it!!

ME TOO
Same
Same, it’s incredibly catchy
Yerushalayim, huh-rim suh-viv luh, VaHashem suh-viv le'amoy, May'atuh vi'ad oylum.
ירושלים, הרים סביב לה, וה' סביב לעמו מעתה ועד עולם. (תהלים קכה)
Jerusalem, mountains sorround her, and G-d surrounds His nation from now and forever. (Psalms 125)
TH-cam recommended this to me like out of the blue... I'm not disappointed.
This song has been the first thing in my head from the second I wake up until the second I go to sleep for the past 3 days and I’ve never been happier
English transliteration:
Yerushalayim, huh-rim suh-viv luh, VaHashem suh-viv le'amoy, May'atuh vi'ad oylum.
Hebrew Lyrics:
ירושלים, הרים סביב לה, וה' סביב לעמו מעתה ועד עולם. (תהלים קכה)

The RADIANT smile on the kid's face at 3:18 is why children's choirs should exist
Right?? Like he's clearly so happy to be there singing.
Nah, that kid thinks he’s the main character throughout the whole song
@@nathanstanislawski3049 as he should. He is performing Right. It is him and all The other boys we look at. So they all are main character. Who Else should be it The Crowd?
ayo, sounds kinda sus virginia
Bro's mouth is bigger than my future
First 10 secs were like "wtf am I watching?". But once they started to sing, damn! Not regretting a second.👌🏻👌🏻
These boys stepped up to this stage in their shiny shirts and ties and little hats knowing full well that they were kings
“little hats” 😭
@@lanerocha8180 LMAO it wasn't funny to me until you pointed it out
"little hats" Good lord, dude 🤣🤣
@@Phisting they had to have LITTLE hats since their heads are little.
+DoogelyJim. Don't say things like ,they are kings'. This only leads to arrogance and hubris which itself makes people not listen to others but trying to proselytize or even fight them. Especially children should stay open-minded and not be indoctrinated by one system. There is more than enough arrogance and hate in the world. Children don't have to join this conflicts too. I hope I made it clear that this applies to every side.
