My grandmother is a seamstress, and she still makes the belt out of the same fabric of the dress. :) :) That always caught my attention, it seems to me so glamorous, and she did the same for my mother's clothes and my dresses (when I was a young girl)
I always feel actually making a matching belt is so extra, it's so nice to have a matching one even if it is more effort. It's so great that she just does it as a part of her routine! I need to get that kind of mentality ;)
Thanks for sharing your finds with us....and special thanks for inserting the little shots of you modeling your finds. I find I enjoy seeing what you bought modeled more than just shown!
I love these video's so much that I live vicariously through them due to the lack of good vintage in Australia. Your always so informative in them as well, so thank you 😊
Thank you! I'm sorry there isn't much good vintage down in Australia, I don't have much locally around me it seems either but at least shipping in the US is reasonable while I know overseas shipping is crazy!
Yessssss love the 2nd pair of gloves. The rich color and detailing, gorgeous. The candy corn scarf looks do 50's. Cute. I used to love playing with my mom's purse that clasped like that that! It brought back many memories when it made that sound 😊
As always, such a great haul! I enjoy seeing all of the unique pieces you are able to find, and the looks you create are just beautiful. And your figure is Stunning 13:46. 😊
Love the orange/yellow scarf as well as the Fair Isle sweater. So cozy. You have snow in October and I had very summer time picnic in the park today, it is sooo weird. My wardrobe hasn't made its transition yet from summer to autumn/winter. Usually it would be cold and rainy over here in Europe but this year it seems summer won't stop. Since March we had little rain but lots of sunshine and high temperatures non-stop.
Thank you! I actually woke up to proper snow outside today, it's like a winter wonderland outside and it seems WAY TOO EARLY for that nonsense! Clearly I should be vacationing in Europe right now instead ;)
Love the last top! And the long gloves! And the skirt! Omg!!!! Just yesterday and again 5 days ago, and went on two shopping trips to a 3 diff vintage shops, and goodwill, value village, and global neighborhood thrift, and MAN DID I GET SOME CUTE ITEMS!!! All together i spent around...180$...and i found tons of cute stuff...around 40-50 items...and out of all of it 16 items were true vintage from 50s and 40s...so i di preeety good. And im in love with it all! Yay for vintage hauls!!! I def need more broaches though...i only have 5...but im veeery picky with them...and i adore them...i wear one every day lol.
I’m currently seam ripping out a lining to alter a vest to fit my sister while binging your content ❤ you make a great buddy to help keep the monotony away
Thank you for sharing! I especially love the end vintage clothing try ons the editing looks great I love the vintage effect! Great finds as always! 🍁🍂🍁🍂🍁🍂🍁🍂🍁🍂🍁
New to your channel and currently binge watching your videos. I just love your voice and the way you talk. You have such a great personality. Completely in love with your vintage finds. I just love the hunt with vintage. You never know what your going to find and when you eventually find the thing you have been looking for, it’s one of the best feelings. Thanks for sharing x
Those were great wardrobe additions! I had a taste of how popular accordion pleated skirts are recently, I have a small collection I grew over the years, I added another two last month, both dead stock, one is polyester just like yours and the most gorgeous teal, the other is a wool/polyester blend, rust and grey tartan, it has a great 50s feel to it. However, I wore the teal one for my nephew's christening and 3 of my friends had pleated skirts, none of them vintage! 😂 Yours is a stunning colour, one that is still missing in the aforementioned collection! 😝 My best score was last Sunday though, I bought a 80s does 40s crepe wool dress with sequins and diamond shape seam on the front for 10€ and it fits like it was made for me.
Thank you Stella! So many pleated skirts out there right now! Rust and grey tartan sounds wonderful, I am super into rusty colors this year. The dress sounds amazing! 80's does 40's pieces are so often excellent, I hope I can add more to my wardrobe someday :)
Newbie. Love you! Suggestion for the brooch to keep it from scratching up more. Apply clear nail polish, several coats. My mother has a beautiful brass cuff and it never oxided.
Thank you Mai! The nail polish trick is indeed a very good one, especially for items that touch the skin like cuffs and necklaces because the oils of the skin are what are causing the discoloration of the brass and the enamel protects from this. This brooch isn't so much changing color as it has just obviously been knocked around in a jewelry box with other jewelry for 50 years so it's scratched up. Hopefully I can keep better care of it from now on :)
The color of the third gloves has a name since the Armani era, is called Greige. I like the first purple ones, you can make a wool skirt in that purple, it's very rich, it was used by royalty in previous periods (in velvet of course). The orange clutch is wonderful, perhaps it looks good with your new pleated skirt -though the clutch has a more intense hue.You look very pretty with this black dress☺
Hello, I am a recently new subscriber - enjoying your videos. I especially liked the way you styled your new-to-you skirt and blouse. Best wishes from London, UK (currently very mild with autumn leaves blowing around).
I don't wear anything earlier than the 70's and 80's, but I am also a matchy matchy girl also! My shoes & pocketbook have to match. Love watching your videos. Fairly new to your channel. A friend from Pa. 💕👛👜👠💕
Love the red clutch. I recently found a black handbag at Salvation Army for only $3.00 Not sure, but I think it's from the 50's. I don't know why, but I feel much more ladylike using a handbag rather than a shoulder bag.
Fantastic haul . That clutch is everything but since I have to carry a diaper bag every where it’s not really practical for me. I currently use a vintage 70’s coach messenger bag as my diaper bag. I can’t wait to downsize my carrying purse 👛.
Thank you! I downsized my everyday/work bag recently and it is so nice to feel so much lighter, certainly something to look forward too ;) Now I definitely check if a bag is already heavy even when empty before I buy it!
Absolutely beautiful buys and the way you style them looks gorgeous.Did you make the skirt your wearing with the fairisle cotton jumper and if so what is the pattern and wear did you get the fabric from,it's stunning. Also what is the jumper your wearing.
Thank you Maureen! I did indeed make that skirt, the fabric is a tiny scale hounds-tooth from Joanns that they do still carry in their "suiting" fabrics area. I made the pattern myself, but it is essentially just a circle skirt with a circular gore section added into the side seam. The black top I have on here is actually just a lace top from Old Navy from a few years ago! :)
I've never seen snow. As a kid, I thought it looked like such fun, now I think, "oh Lord, inconvenient cold stuff!". As you actually live with it, which is closer to the truth?! (If anyone else wishes to chime in, feel free!😊) Thanks!👋
Its really pretty when it's falling or fresh, and in general as long as you don't have to drive anywhere it's quite nice in my view. Though driving in icy conditions is 😬 a mess really!
@@TheClosetHistorian sounds like having a relationship with a really beautiful, fun person who has a personality that can go from "great, wonderful eternal love" to "what the hell did I get myself into?" in a day 😳 (a little dramatic, perhaps?😅)
you charm me with every video/post i love the outfit you put together styling the impulse buy blouse in what other areas of life do you enjoy vintage? music/hobbies/home styling? I feel I like vintage music first of all but interacting in the vintage music community here in chicago has my interest piqued when i see vintage clothing.
Thank you! I love vintage music of many decades, I sew (when I have the time!) which I suppose is a vintage hobby in some ways, and I would love to have a vintage styled home one day-- but currently don't have my own place which makes that hard! ;)
I recently found 4 pairs of crocket gloves in an antique store, never had gloves before and thank god my glove size is quite small so my hands fit in all of them. They make me feel extremely stylish haha!
Have you been to any of the Arc thrift stores in the Denver area lately? They have incredible vintage recently because they save it all up for Halloween. I got an incredible mustard yellow knit letterman jacket/sweater at the Arc on Broadway for six dollars last Saturday!
I have not but now I'll have to put that on my to do list for this week! Great score on the jacket, I love mustard yellow. I was so bummed when they closed all the Savers in town that I still haven't quite forgiven Arc for taking over ha, I need to go more often in general!
Hi Bianca, great haul! I especially love the corde bag - cannot believe it's High St either! I was wondering if you'd ever sewn any gloves using a vintage or repro pattern (I think Vogue and Butterick may have them.....) I can knit gloves very easily but the pieces look tiny for gloves, sometimes with four tiny pattern pieces per finger! I'm so tempted to try sewing a pair; imagine the possibilities! ;) x
Thank you Julie! I have never tried sewing gloves before-- as amazing as it would be to be able to make them in any color it just seems like it would be so fiddly and frustrating to make them myself!
The burnt orange skirt has inspired me to dust off my navy one and have fun with it this fall ^^ And the mention of your purple hair made me miss my purple hair, I have to go back to that color soon. Btw what purple dye did you use? The indigo hue makes me think Pravana.
I always want my purple hair back until I remember how much I hated the maintenance! I would love to get a really high quality vintage styled wig in dark purple one day so I can have purple hair for a day when those feelings strike again ;) This last time my hair was purple my lovely stylist did indeed use pravana for my color, but when I topped it up myself I used n'rage purple plum from Sally Beauty supply which my favorite purple hair dye. It is super dark, very blue leaning, and fades to purple not anything weird! :)
Good luck in the search! It may be common to mix and match in modern fashion, but the visual balance of matching accessories is just so appealing so I can't get away from it ;)
You measure around the widest part of the hand beneath the fingers across/around the palm, a more detailed explanation can be found here www.chronicallyvintage.com/2012/10/how-to-size-vintage-gloves.html :)
'Great Scott!!!' You've done it again! Super adorable haul, esp. that coral clutch! I've recently purchased a beautiful, jingly-jangly 1950s charm bracelet from a gal on Insta…..@veradoesvintage. I too cannot creep up on anyone due to the high volume of noise it creates, lol. You always look spot on doll. Take care. Xxx

LOVED this!!! I am still in disbelief over that orange clutch!!!! SO BEAUTIFUL❤❤

You got me hooked on corde clutches, I recently got one fairly large with a lucite clasp and dedicated lipstick pocket which is amaaaaaaazing!
I love it when they still have the Lucite clasps and charms! Good work out there hunting :)
beautiful collection Bianca! really loved that you showed how you would style the skirt and the sweater!
The last outfit... Is EVERYTHING... I LOVE it!

Snow already ...oh my !!! Anyway back to the vintage haul...love everything new @ old..@ you do make me laugh !!!thankyou x
Thank you Henrietta! I couldn't believe it was snowing this week! I'm so glad it melted instantly and didn't stick at all, I'm not ready for snow yet.

Ruched gloves tutorial? Yes, please!
I'll have to find and set aside some non-ruched ones for this! ;)
Short sleeve sweaters are so my jam! I really love the one you got!
We had snow twice at the end of September, about 2-3 weeks early and now it's warm outside, also not normal :D
Early snow just makes me feel like it's winter already and I am still not done panicking about it being fall so I am NOT here for it! ;)
Me neither. 6 months of snow on the ground is quite enough
I love everything but my goodness that pin is fabulous I’m a huge vintage pin collector, love your videos
