A spinning slash that ends with a backward dodge, so you can more easily maintain the optimal whipping distance from your opponent. Punish people who want to get up in your face and poise through your whip strikes. (Bonus points on the Urumi since it could follow up into that unique thrust heavy!)
I love how calm and nonchalant this guy always is in a game that's meant to be terrifying. Like, "ahh, you're using a gravitational wave of destruction, how intriguing."

I was Marais Enjoyer. I remember just seeing those whips and going "I don't wanna do this" hence the looking away at the start lol. Whips are the bane of my existence. For the record, i was using radagon's, so that probably pushed the damage up a bit. Was a fun fight, however short it was :D
Whips are my goto when fighting toxic builds like RoB or double spears/BHS. First slot on both hands for the weapons i enjoy, second for seals and third for double blood amd ice Whips
I hope to see Golem Halberd some time soon, it's a pretty fun weapon to use in pvp even tho it's a colossal weapon. It has a very solid moveset and an unique R1 that activates if you do it after R2.

This thing's charged r2 is actually so useful, catches so many people off guard. Like to use it with endure on a faith build so I can convince people to get close before breaking out the Death Lighting. Many oneshots are had.
Loving the extra invasions, shows a completely different side to the weapons imo. I'd love to see some of the flails, you can get a good dex/int build with the boss flails that do some crazy damage.

I've been watching you for years and I appreciate the whip build. I actually beat Elden Ring on my first play through only using whips solo without summons, turns out the Urumi is so good with that S scaling in Dex and the fully charged heavy.
Played those a lot on release. You can bait people into the charged r2 by whiffing a uncharged, lot of people will go to roll through if you try a charged one next.

Day 5 of asking for the reduvia! daggers demand more out of the duelist and I think the reduvia compensates for the issues of the daggers in a pretty interesting way, and are great powerstanced with or without another reduvia (i like bleed/poison)

Dual wielding whips is crazy strong. My first playthrough I used Hoslow's Whip and the Thorned Whip and it is extremely effective in pvp. You're absolutely right about the roll catch with the L1, a lot of people just don't know the range and the timing at all.

Watching these is so informative these showcases along with the 4hr invasion vids too lol but the pebble combo with stitcher has proven incredibly helpful against r.o.b it's to the point now when my group I'm in does friday fight night I tell them "i got an answer for that weapon" then my wife looks at me and says "you watch too many pvp videos" lol🤣🤣

Been waiting for an Urumi showcase 🙏. It's too bad you can't crit with whips, there are some fairly brutal choking animations I can think of for them, similar to the Scythe criticals.
I’m a whip guy and I mostly play with the Holslow’s. I have the Urumi but never tried it. I should try it. I also love raptors of the mist, i bait people by rolling once just for them to try a roll catcher which gives me a free jump L1

I was really into the urumi in the beginning of getting them they do slash instead of strike damage and it was my first *flowing* weapon but I sadly have moved along still love the urumi tho good video chase much love
I run dual urumi alongside the nox flowing sword and hammer, I love the mix ups their r2's/ ash of war provide. I reccomend checking out the flowing sword and hammer at some point :) Duels they may not be anywhere near as good but in invasions they put in some work :D
I would love to see a showcase for my favorite weapon throughout the souls series... The Mace. I've found it difficult to play the mace against all the crazy builds out there. Would love to see what you'd do with it. So far, trading for big damage with lions pounce or prayerful strike has been successful. I want to do more with wild strike combos.
I love using it with blackflame blade. You can use the R2 - BFB - Followup R2, cause BFB has the drawstring/bundle buff properties. Catches people off guard 90% of the time.
if your raptor mist doesn't go off you should do the r1 for whips because the animation still considered crouching and r1 attack for it rolls out fast.
I'm putting in for the Cleanrot Spear. I love weapons with double hit heavies like the Warhawk Talon, but straight swords probably aren't the most useful for invasions.
My guy please do a two-hand Fingerprint Shield showcase. It’s amazing with Shield Crash. Has actual good damage, amazing defense (obviously) and it’s super fun to beat people with it. I’m not good at the game or anything but it even worked against Moonveil users in duels.
Would love to see some more whip-compatible Ashes of War in the DLC! This weapon is cool as hell

Yes the urumi! This weapon's charged R2 catches people off guard 9 times out of 10
The issue is that it's kinda useless after they've seen it. I got killed by the charged r2 once and never got hit by it again

Using this with the charged attack talisman, flask and royals knight resolve can straight up one shot people with a charged r2

RKR, charged attack talisman and cracked tear is hilarious when evapourating a health bar
I've seen videos of these weapons IRL they are from India and they give me the shivers -all that razer sharp spring steel flying around !
In DS2 you could backstab and repost with the whips. It just did the fist weapon animation when you did it.

Chase try the rotten greataxe! Poison infused procs poison in 1-2 hits, back step into R1 is a great roll catch, super fun
It would be really cool to see how you handle dual-wielding Bloodstained Dagger, the strength based dagger, with some status buildup shenanigans.

if your raptor mist doesn't go off you should do the r1 for whips because the animation still considered crouching and r1 attack for it rolls out fast.
Its soooooo fun to play the distance game with whips and then pull out the lightning goat when they get close to you.
This weapon reminds me of the whips that the Kushan assassin guy used Berserk. I might try to do a cosplay at some point

I'm putting in for the Cleanrot Spear. I love weapons with double hit heavies like the Warhawk Talon, but straight swords probably aren't the most useful for invasions.

My guy please do a two-hand Fingerprint Shield showcase. It’s amazing with Shield Crash. Has actual good damage, amazing defense (obviously) and it’s super fun to beat people with it. I’m not good at the game or anything but it even worked against Moonveil users in duels.
