High speed straight into rocks. Of course its going to cut power. This, per ryobis advertising, is meant for gardens and flowerbeds, and to lightly break new ground. And if youre breaking new ground, to do it with the slow setting and do it in layers of 2 inches. They clearly say this isnt something meant for ripping up rock piles

Sorry for any confusion. It was a short experience because it was cold as hell and the camera person quit on me. As to the tiller, it did exactly what I wanted it to do and that was to break up a layer of packed, saturated clay that I needed to remove by hand.

Standard (worldwide) cell voltage is 1.5v. Therefore a 18v battery has 12x1.5v cells. Double this for a 36v battery. How many 1.5v cells do you think are in a U.S. 20v battery?

I just bought one to tear up my yard that is crappy and can’t grow anything except weeds here in Florida… no rocks… we’ll see how it goes as soon as the rain quits! I’m hoping for better results in dirt. My plan is to put in artificial grass and I thought this would be a cheaper alternative to what someone quoted me to do the work.

    • @kaiokyle1198
      @kaiokyle1198 หลายเดือนก่อน

You should try to fertilize the soil so it has a reasonable PH balance. After you till the lawn, go to a lawn care care store and buy some 24-0-11 granular fertilizer and spread it everywhere. Then try putting sod down in an area, water the sod every day for at least 2 weeks so it can get rooted in the ground and get its own water from the soil, then see how it goes.
I always try to advise against the artificial grass, you're basically covering your lawn in plastic that will eventually break down from the strong sun in Florida, the rain will wash the microplastics away and cause future problems in the environment.

    • @SkjaldmærJeep

Look up Soil Works LLC, GCI Turf, LawnCareNut
If you till it up, get a soil test kit, then feed it. You’ll be fine. Weeds tend to grow in calcium and magnesium deficient soil

Wrong! We feed our soil humic, magnesium, calcium and sea kelp. Keeps it from bonding like this. Get an aggravator by hand… anything a 4 tine pitch fork is good.
If not, water it down first.
Gas and battery can break this apart providing the operator knows what they are doing like not letting it walk.
Anyone get the same amount of material off of wood if you let the sander walk the surface? What if you use a planner, put the board in backwards and see what it does.

Operator issue not the tool! Read why.
Rear tine tillers pull you forward as the tines dig in.
Hand held tillers you pull towards. Working backwards. You DO NOT let the tiller tines walk the tool much like any tool! Be rotary, polisher, belt sander, drum roll sander…
First - gas vs battery. Harder bare grounds you may want to know your compaction psi. Chemically soften your bare ground. Using soil amendments, fertilizers and sand
Aggravating the soil ought to be done more often. Don’t let it sit for a so long it becomes this hard.
    Finally,
Understand how the tool works. We have gotten a good 3-4inches into compacted grounds with an ego multi head tiller. This is a wider version of that. All you need to do is set it down, let it dig in. Then walk backwards
Of course this failed as you went forwards with it. SMH
