Love the details but more importantly, the details are universal movement principles. That makes it a life long lesson. Good on you Mr. Nash.

This for me was the best basketball shooting video by far I have ever watched, and I have watched hundreds. In particular, the idea of keeping my chest up at all times, even after I make a move is extremely valuable information.
I have always had a problem being aggressive and wanting to get from point A to point B in a hurry. I get there quicker if I am leaning forward with my chest down as I move. The problem is that I frequently get caught in that position when I am open to shoot. Raising up out of that position to shoot a jump shot is a big problem for me. I could do it better when I was younger but I cannot get away with it anymore. The trick is don't get caught in this position, like Nash says. Stay low with knees bent but don't lean forward and drop your chest down.
I played ball yesterday and focused on doing this and it was the best game I have played in years. I was on fire! I think I shot over 90% and actually dominated the game, which is something since I was playing against guys 20 and 30 years younger than me who are good players.
It's amazing that it seems that the most important part of shooting has nothing to do with shooting. For me it's all about how I move on the floor. On balance at ALL times.

This resonated with me. I am trying to focus less on working on my game, and more on my general focus, fitness and control/balance. Keep it going man!

LOL. No, it’s not. It was one of the first things you’re taught when you start playing college ball. Helps to keep your eyes trained on the target. And to get your shot off quicker.

The touching the ball on the ground drill is something I am going to start working on regularly. Getting low and keeping my weight back is a problem for me. It never seemed to be a problem for Steve Nash. I don't think he ever took an off balance jump shot once in his career. Uncanny.
I can do it great when just form shooting with no hoop in front of me but as soon as I have a hoop to put the ball in, my form goes to crap and I start swinging the ball out in front of me, dropping my chest, and jumping forward.
Not only does it throw my shot off and inhibit my stroke but I bring the ball right to the defender so he can contest it.

Steve, I really need help with my shot. I watched the video and it helped a little but my shot is a little quirky. When I bring the ball to my set point my shooting elbow is not in line with my shoulder so I’m not getting the 90 degree angle in my arm. How do I get the 90 degree angle in my shooting arm?
