Most in-depth analysis of Nash I've seen, great job. I really appreciated the insight on how long he would hold the ball in his hand. I think you're right, it wasn't just a function of how he liked to dribble to get by guys by because he wanted to be able to pass and shoot quickly. I think part of the reason he stayed so upright was because of his soccer background; those guys don't get low and they learn to accelerate and change directions while staying upright. It also made it easier for him to stay in control with backup options since the forward lean can force you to commit more to the drive.
yah it made me realize thats why i shoot poor when im playing super aggro. because im not upright im like near shoulder to the floor. im not pulling up hard enough i guess.
Nash is my all time fav player. I’m still trying to figure out how ALL of his highlights are in 240-360p, while other players in the same era have HD highlights. Suns video department cheap or something? Lol. Jordans highlights are 10-20 years earlier and filmed in crisp 1080p LOL.
@@versatillion15 The Suns were always on TNT, ESPN and ABC from 2005-2010. They were by far the most exciting team to watch from like 2005-2007. They def got a lot of national coverage in that era.
i know its a far shot and there might be not enough footage but could you cover how rodman defends and rebounds? I think everyone that is on the smaller side, from bigs to even guards can definitely use some of the skills of the worm.
@@versatillion15 you need to have the heart and lower body strength to be able to do what Rodman did, but a whole lot of skill. He's gone on the record saying he would practice rebounding, boxing out and throwing outlet passes when other guys would practice their offensive skills. He would watch film on his teammates and opponents to see how their shots usually missed and where the flaws were in their box-out technique to pick it apart. Jordan said himself that he's one of the smartest basketball minds he knows, but his unique personality often clouds it. Watch Rodman talk about basketball in Detail and it's evident how much he knows when he's locked in and not spouting off about Kim Jong Un or something
Im a huge Lebron fan but Nash introduced me to basketball. He's just fluid motion and his IQ on offense and passing (Pick and roll) was very very very impressive.
God bless you bro I pray that God continues to provide you with the knowledge and gift of speaking that you have keep working hard and pushing out videos and programs like these much love
Announcers would constantly say he wasn't looking for a shot, and as their saying it makes a shot. Interesting points about his high dribble and his ability to control the ball away from his body. Did Steve have big hands? I know Stockton could palm the ball off a dribble. Nash was very crafty and I think he is an underrated offensive player. If he played now, he would be taking many more 3's. He was so efficient. My favorite player to watch.
Hey man, first of all great vid. I was wondering if you could do a video about mobility required for basketball, as I noticed u mentioned it in some of your previous videos, hip mobility to be specific. Keep up the good work!!💯🤙🏽
How can anybody dislike this great video🤷♂️. Now u know why it looks like a walk in the park for Nash. So much wisdom, skill and effort put in to look effortless:) One of the best poing guards ever (in offense:))
I think in part you answered why Nash dribbles high ~ it increases his ball in hand time per distance travelled Giving him more time to execute all the you mentioned ⌚
6:10 Nash's secret sauce was his PnR set up. His driving angle is wide, but look at the angle his on-ball defender has to take to fight over the screen. Space, timing, reading your pick angle and using your defender's momentum against him. Also can't hurt to be a career 43% 3-point shooter.
One thing when people talk about the pick and roll game that I feel is not highlighted enough is the ability to shoot. His ability to shoot allows him to get these kind of looks and coverages. It is much much harder to be an effective pick and roll guard when you are not an immediate threat to shoot off the screen. Without the ability to shoot coaches need to be more creative to get the same advantage in the pick and roll
Excellent video! A Nash-specific workout (including ball-handling, shot-making and signature moves such as floaters and same-foot same-hand finishes) would be the real deal! Keep up the excellent content :)
Ψ KNIGHT Ψ small guard program definitely goes more into depth for players who have the ball in their hands more. Efficient scorer package is more for 2 and 3 guards.
Yo extend the videos to 10. We don't mind you stretching to get the dough. I'm pretty sure you of all people could still fill those 2 minutes with interesting stuff.

Man Nash was so influential for the future generation and played ahead of his time with the “7 seconds or less” Suns
Two mvps and still underrated, even tho he stole one from kob 😌🐍😂
@@igethighhighhigh Kobe should’ve definitely got that 06 mvp but he got robbed by my man Nash
@@cloudmoore2834 it’s one of those things were you can’t be mad cause Steve had his team on they bs fr
Now that team would be last in the nba in pace

That and probably his scoliosis
yah it made me realize thats why i shoot poor when im playing super aggro. because im not upright im like near shoulder to the floor. im not pulling up hard enough i guess.
@jakeroberts5899 he did not have scoliosis. He had a spondylolisthesis.

They be hatin on steve nash
Possibly because not a lot of his games were televised?
Hey 21 facts 😂
Some of jordan’s game used film to record instead of digital cameras, and film has good quality but takes up too much storage

Elegant. Maestro. That suit Nash the most. On his days, He see every single movement(vision) on the court.
Pirlo of Basketball world.
Hell yeah Nash is awesome, I somewhat copy his hesitate explode or shoot and it definitely freezes the defender
i know its a far shot and there might be not enough footage but could you cover how rodman defends and rebounds? I think everyone that is on the smaller side, from bigs to even guards can definitely use some of the skills of the worm.
i second this
Rodman's rebounding is more just practice and hussle. It's just natural. Rodman defense is a good idea tho.
You gotta have heart bud that’s about it. That & a lot of lower body strength
@@brownfood5365 it's definitely skill, his positioning and vision on where the ball sould go

How Nash manages to handle the ball while dealing with his hair in his face (as well as adjusting it) is beyond me.
As someone who has long hair and plays,it’s actually really annoying.I usually tie it up,but idk how his hair stays the way it does
Nash is embodiment of less is more 💎
Steve nash perfect the hip swivel. My son’s all time favorite Point Guard

Had he shoots more threes instead of those midranges, he could have 20+ppg season
First time watching one of your videos, so educational and analytical - exactly how i like to view the game! subbed and keen for the next video!
God I wish Nash got to play in this era, where he'd be allowed to let it fly from deep as much as he wants

Amazing idea
i need that im tryna learn that signature jump hook
He has an attention to detail on Tony Parker
Heck of a breakdown here. The small details you expressed .... good stuff.
I think in part you answered why Nash dribbles high ~
it increases his ball in hand time per distance travelled
Giving him more time to execute all the you mentioned ⌚
Do jason kidd next breakdown anything about him. He a legit hofer
My fav player all time
You mean Ason Kidd. He had no "J". Shot 40.0% for his career. That's horrible.
You’ve been ona grind lately man
He's the reason why I dive deeper into basketball
I'm excited to see what he does with Kyrie.
Facts
He already did, a few years ago

Learned a lot here, thanks!
Man u r good, that was an amazing analysis! Thanks.
Always enjoy nash passing incredible
Thank you!
His plays are so smooth
Great vid! Nash was my favorite growing up
This is exactly what I needed thank you I been working on my game for awhile now
Nash got back problems so that's probably why he dribbles upright, very effective though
I see Nash, I click like
Need that full video on his pick and rolls
Sees video title
*licks hands*

Also helps that Nash can finish on both hands
His style of play is good for everyone and great for the non-athletic.

Attention to detail: Brandon Ingram. Please do that next
Can u breakdown Bol Bol plz
Is floating the ball a “Carry?” The ball must be on top of the basketball when dribbling right?

Howbout a comparison video for KD & Lebron? I don’t think ppl realize that it’s close
Awesome
do charles barkley hes a 6'4 powe forward who dominated a league filled with big men and defensive paint monsters
Barkley was 6 6" same as Jordan. Stop shrinking players to make it more impressive!
@@ahmetturgut6131 no he wasn’t he wasn’t not 6’6 he’s literally shorter then Mj go look at picture side by side

Trea Young's game is pretty similar
Can you do a jamal Murray workout because he is really good at creating space
The handles ... the passing ... even the fixing the hair
Please do a sga video
do a updated trae young one
The Brooklyn Nets offense should be dynamite, with creative minds of Nash and Di Antoni, But can they defend is my question,
Who better Nash or Stockton ?

Did anybody else see the clip where the ball disappeared😂 @4:55
PLEASE release the PnR video for Nash!!
