As always, a helpful and much-appreciated video.
One thing, though: Subarus are notorious for (two) failed O-rings at the connection between the low pressure (return) hose and the power steering pump. This allows the pump to suck air, causing frothing of the fluid and -- you guessed it -- overflowing at the steering fluid reservoir. Luckily, the offending O-rings are easily accessed by removing a single bolt/screw, and they cost about five bucks for the pair. So figure on spending ten minutes and less than ten dollars. I realize your video is meant to apply to cars in general, but if the patient happens to be a Subaru I'd check those O-rings first.

Dont forget to check the low pressure seal on the top of the pump, that's another that causes this

What could it mean if your power steering pump rattles only when at a full stop? No problems at all when you're driving and steering. Tends to rattle when it's cranking at a full stop.

Mine was sucking air throughout the low pressure line from the bolt (o) ring 💍 sprayed with FLEX SEAL and no more grinding or difficulty of turning or noise 😂

I have a 2008 wrx that started making power steering noise. I checked the fluid and it was low so I topped it off. Then I inspected for leaks and found that my high pressure line at the connection to the rack is leaking. Strangely the boot on the rack is collapsed and twisted up. What do you think could be the cause for this happening to the boot?

This is caused by the person that did the wheel alignment, they turn the tie rods to align the wheel but aren't professional enough to fix the boots which will cause issues down the road.. Wheel alignments are suppose to do 5 wheels & the 5th being the steering wheel as well..

Change my pump. My car had workable power steering before. After the new pump I basically have no power steering. I lift the front wheels and it turns super smoothly

Hey, is it normal for that yellow cap (power steering fluid) to spin whilst its on? or is it meant to be like a screw on thing and get really tight? Because mine spins?

Which makes it the perfect overview of the Subaru's power steering system.
