Thanks so much! The instructions were extremely clear, and my dishwasher is currently running. I don't get why these boards go like this, but your help was clear, concise, and extremely helpful! You are a great teacher.
You are very welcome. Glad we were able to help you out and you got your dishwasher running again. If there is anything we can help you with in the future please let us know.
This is a terrific instructional video, but on such a new dishwasher model, the repair should not be necessary. My grandma and grandpa’s GE washer and dryer set lasted them over 25 years and were passed on to my wife and I when we were first married. We eventually replaced them with “newer” models that failed over and over. In 35 years of marriage, we have repaired and eventually replaced many times all appliances of every brand, which is one and the same, only to still be looking at a video like this to repair an $800 dollar dishwasher that is still relatively brand new. Our matching fridge has failed us and I can only thank the good Lord (and He is) that we didn’t purchase a matching oven and overhead microwave only to break too.
Just finished the install. Thx for the video, and the board which was very convenient to buy on your website. Worked a charm. Just one detail, more and more modern kitchens have marble countertops now. In that case, the screws holding the dishwasher are in the sidewalls of the cabinets that are on both sides of the dishwasher. Or the installer did a combination of both the countertop and the sidewalls. It depends on the enclosure to get the dishwasher out of the installation correctly.
Excellent video, I just replaced the UI board on a GDT655 following the video sept by step, my suggestion would be to take your time and double check your connectors and jumper settings. Thank You.
Keep in mind, there are several things factoring into board failure. Such as environmental, power surges, normal wear and tear as well as manufacturing.
Exactly this. I used to design electronics for a living, very niche and high-end products. MTBF testing for consumer products like this, especially with such widely used products, should be a much higher priority for a company, especially at this price point. Makes me pretty upset when you need to replace $150 boards every few years. They could do better but choose not to make it a priority. Shame.
Beware, there are 2 control panels on most GE dishwasher models. This panel, at top of door to control desired settings and a panel at bottom of door area near dishwasher frame. This lower panel has relays and such and was the panel I needed after buying door control panel. Both will give the 3 beep message preventing unit from starting. My dishwasher, for example, took a WD21X24901C. Be sure what your dishwasher needs. It will save a lot of extra work. This video, however, is an excellent reference to replace the upper door control panel. Thanks
Good point. I replaced the main control board first, thinking that was the problem. But it wasn't, it was the UI. So yes, check the voltage on pins 2 and 5 on the Main Control Board and see if you have 14 volts. If so, the Control Board is fine, and it's the UI Board.
@@GregGum I'm in the same boat. I just ordered the user interface board just trying to decide if I put my old control board back in and request refund, I'm still eligible.
I've got a gdf530 which isn't listed in this jumper setting config, yet this is the correct part number. Should I go with personality 15 and just hope for the best? What could happen if you don't set it correctly?
Why does the moisture keep getting into my User interface board? I already replaced it once because the moisture ruined the controls and it's full of moisture again in less than 6 months? why is it not keeping dry inside the control panel? Thank you for your videos!
This part should cost around 20 dollars. Replacing failed parts on new appliances should not be a thing. At 200 dollars the only option you have is to trash it unless you want to repair your self often
We understand it's frustrating having to replace a part on a new appliance. Our prices are competitive and do come with a full one-year warranty. Of course, it is completely up to you whether you decide to replace the part or the appliance.
If this is the part that you are needing you can click on the link below and it will take you to that part and you can add it to your cart and proceed to check out from there. www.appliancepartspros.com/ge-configured-ui-board-wd21x31902-ap7204350.html
apparently GE is worse than GM who on earth decided you had to design it so you take the entire door off and apart? why not just a pop off bezel I swear to God lol.
Help So I verified that I need to replace this part. When I went to remove the doors exterior from the interior I removed all 4 screws but I still can’t separate them. What am I to do?

Thanks GE boards that routinely fail after 3-4 years. Quality product!products

power surges are a biggie I think @@appliancepartspros

Good video as always, but would be nice to first diagnose if the problem is the main control board or the UI.
There’s pins on the main control you can test for DC voltage to the UI

Because the design is terrible and GE doesn't care.
Is board good for PDT750SSF1SS? My display is frozen and cannot be reset.
The correct part number for model PDT750SSF1SS is WD21X22074. You can place that order through our website or call us at 1-877-477-7278. Thank you!
my model is not listed for the Jumper settings - DDT595SSJ0SS
If you can provide your email address I can send you the instruction sheet with that model.
Hi, this UI board I purchased doesn’t have the pins for 8, 4, 2, 1. What can I do?
Where should I purchase the UI board from?
How do you know if it’s the user board that stopped working. And not something else
Do you have a multimeter? You can test the board to see if it has the correct voltage coming to it.
Nice
How do I get to the Fuse able Link
Please help
