Mike, that is a very nice piece of cherry. I live the character in the bowl. You did that piece quite proud. Also a beautiful finish. I'm sure your friend will be very appreciative. 👍👍 Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and stay safe.🙂🙂
I have never turned a goblet, I really should. Only had the opportunity to work on cherry once as it was a commercial bowl blank. Amazing work as always. 😊😊
Lovely goblet Mike. Happy it stayed on 1 piece 🤣. Even if it hadn’t I happen to know that you have the remedy for multiple piece goblets. Well done. Great to see you on the tubes.
Nice to have you back and turning, Mike. A lovely piece there. Beautiful figure and finish. As someone else has already said, a ‘masterpiece’ from the goblet master. Cherry’s a firm favourite of mine too (when it doesn’t crack 😢). All the best
@@MikeWaldt Hi mate ,been very ill since autumn last year , diagnosed with poly myalgia and cancer , getting treatment for both ,slowly getting there . Cheers mate Bram
Lovely job Mike. I've only made 6 goblets and they've all had 2 captive rings to celebrate weddings. I look forward to doing some without the rings, as it's such a pain☹️. I think I would have to avoid using a skew, as I only use one when the size and shape will accommodate fixing an unwanted catch😂
Quite lovely. There was a moment when you were taking down the width of the base that it was briefly shaped like a bell. That might be a shape to explore.
Lovely goblet Mike nicely finished. Does hampshire sheen high gloss have a best before, as I never seem to get anywhere near the shine you achieve. I have had it quite a while which is why I ask. Cheers Geoff
Thanks Geoff. Should last a long time mate ... if I may suggest ..... don't use too much ... less is more with wax. I sometimes apply two coats depending on the wood. Cheers. Mike.
I just love watching you use a spindle gouge, Mike. So much control and creativity. Great job, my friend! 😃

@@MikeWaldt Yes Mike - it's fixing the sandpaper in place that's so difficult😁😁😁

Love this goblet! What is the difference between Yorkshire Grit and True Grit>
Thanks Phillip. Both are good products ... but ... True Grit is made in the UK 🇬🇧 🙂
