Im the same way but I recently realised that we're not gonna be around forever so screw other people lets do what we want to do and not give a damn what others think. I wanna be a holiday entertainer and im gonna go for it bc screw other ppl and screw social awkwardness we are all awesome so let's do what we love!
The one about when you get a lead for the first time I am literally the opposite of that an example is the director was assigning solos for a song and asked everyone who was uncomfortable singing alone on stage to raise their hand, I raised my hand everyone laughed it off but I'm over here like I'm serious....
My first lead role was right before covid and the play got delayed a whole year! After the play was rescheduled, the director got covid and the pianist had to step in. It was a disaster, but it ended up not bad.
my first ever show i got a lead. at one point WHILE ON STAGE, my mic pack fell of my costume partway through my solo, and i had to fix it on stage while singing and dancing without making it obvious. i had never done theater before, let alone worn a mic on stage. thankfully the stage was lit with black lights, because we were in neon so we would glow, and i had someone behind me see and help me a bit. but eah scary.
I suffer. I suffer for being a low voiced female. Also, I got my first lead role last year, and I was actually more of a AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA I'M NOT GOOD ENOUGH rather than the I AM GOD first role kid
this is me, I'm a low ranged alto, and my talents lie more in acting, and I do believe that's the only reason i got the lead was because they needed someone with strong acting skills, but I'm literally dying cause the role is made for a soprano and I'm just like 0_0
Once I was in Matilda and during Bruce I fell so hard on my face, then got back up to discover that my shoe fell of and I had to get it during the blackout 😭😭😭😭
5:29 I’m not a theater kid lol but I was curious what he was talking about so it took me about 10 minutes of looking up everything he was saying to figure out he was talking about “Gypsy” 😂
Omg so like I do small musicals sometimes that are just around our town they're community ones basically, but we have the equipment, and once I was coming off stage and me and this girl had to switch shoes quickly between like 30 seconds, and we were side stage and the sound team was a bit quick and turned hers on too fast and so a bunch of people in the audience heard her say "Quick, ok good 1 shoe, 2 shoe... red shoe blue shoe" and I just went back into the dressing room and died laughing
Actor: *is absent for rehearsals* My director: Rainy, sing for so and so. Me, a techie who has never acted and sounds like a duck surrounded by trained singers, knowing I’m gonna embarrass myself: *O-Okay-.*
Pandemic or not, the show must go on. The show will go on. We’re all working hard and finding ways to work around the pandemic and bring theatre and entertainment to all. Theatre kids for the win!
Bro the girl who met the American idol guy, she’s kinda taking it for granted. She could have told him she didn’t want a lead role but instead she CRIED over getting a lead role in a CELEBRITY’S musical. She kinda seemed like she was bragging.
That guy losing his shoe reminded me of the time I had to be on stage in two seconds but my shoes were too hard to get on in time so I ran down the wing and the shoe that I was wearing came off so I ran on stage bar foot, did the scene, and walked off.
my school was supposed to perform Hairspray after spring break and that never happened and it has been a year since I have practiced my role in it so yeah I agree theater has been hit hard in 2020 but we did make it out
When people say I’m not gonna have any dairy because it effects my vocal cords it’s not actually doing a anything to your vocal cord so it’s not actually effecting your singing but you can do watch ever you want cuz for some people don’t like to have dairy before singing which is fine I just though it was a cool fact 🤗🤗🤗
Ok, a story, once in a show that I was doing, someone put a sticky note with a really weird joke or something in the men's changing room and this guy went backstage with his mic off. then, just as the next song started his mic turned on instead of the person singing' s and he read the sticky note out loud, so really loudly everyone just heard " What? (Repeats joke I forgot) , I don't get it..." and I was on stage just trying to hold it in and not smile or laugh because it was a really serious song.
2:34 - 3:33 Y’know I think she’s lying. Her voice isn’t all that great and is far from angelic. Now if she’s a famous person who actually has a good voice then good for her, but she doesn’t seem all that good and for someone to, not want to be on Broadway. I just don’t believe it.
