PLEASE more Rick. He has a fascinating history. I think he works best with Hulk over either Captain though. Plus, Hulk needs a more permanent supporting cast
Don't know, even at the time felt like they did not know what to do with Rick Jones, he was stuck into been the hot potato throw within writers, the avatar for youngsters.. and exposition device they could always count if they wanted to jump start a new theme.. if he was created today, his motto would be being tik toker to fight against capitalism, and complaining about his parents wanted him to take care of his own life... his gang would be the crypto bros..
I love this channel because I'm 63 years old and started reading Marvel and DC when I learned to read and you tell me facts about Marvel heroes and villains that I didn't know.
It sounds like Marvel Comics wanted to make their Captain Marvel more like their competitor's Captain Marvel, turning Rick Jones into their Billy Batson.
More Rick Jones, please. He could easily be a 37-part series. I would also love it if you could do a video on Marvel's "sliding time scale" and how events have changed in later retellings of classic stories. As always MAKE MINE THE MERRY MARVELITE!!!!
Hello there Merry Marvelite. I do apologize for the tardiness of this comment, but I went to bed early last night when you posted this video, just because I had to get up early for work. Anyways, I just wanted to say that this video was absolutely wonderful and I really enjoyed the information that came out of it, so thank you so much for creating and sharing it with us. Hope that you and everyone else in this community has a wonderful 2025. Until next time, please stay safe, healthy and keep up the amazing work. Peace Out And Above All Excelsior.
More Rick please. i've been thinking for a while that he be an interesting subject for review, if he hadn't already been done. I was going to scroll through the past videos to look him up when I had an opportunity. This video covered most of what I now of him, apart from a couple of snippets. I would love to hear what else he got up to in the Marvel Universe.
Rick definitely deserves a part two, his time with Joe Fixit, The Professor Hulk, Genis-Vell, Marlo and so on are some of the best stories he was involved with.
Rick Jones has appeared in the 1966 Hulk cartoon, the 1982 Incredible Hulk, the 1996 Incredible Hulk cartoon (as his human self), and the 2010 Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. cartoon as A-Bomb (his Gamma form) but no live action.
The single biggest flub in the MCU was not using Rick Jones as the glue to hold things together rather than having Nick Fury in phase one have that role. And... Marvel Comics seems kinds embarrassed about Rick's existence as anything other than a HULK supporting player. They even had the perfect actor in Steve from STRANGER THINGS. Very disappointed Rick wasn't there from the jump.
Joe Keery didn't began his career when first Avengers came to theaters in 2012. And you can argue that Phill Coulson was his replacement in the MCU rather than Fury, as it was his death that made heroes start to act as a team
I wish you had covered Rick Jones’s time with the Incredible Hulk during Peter David’s run, the Jenus Marvel run and the Jessica Jones issues Rick Jones appeared in.
And he has yet to appear in the mcu, I can’t wait for them to get the rights to Hulk cause it’s so much you could do, and we need another Hulk movie that way they can fully introduce Rick Jones
Rick Jones is what the movies are lacking. It's the true, Every Man within the marvel universe Spider-Man, Rick, The X-Men, and Human torch were the only teenagers in the early 60s. Rick is truly a nomad
I'm still wating for the MCU to do something with him… perhoas a series or a short on Disney+ , or the What if? cartoons, do one on him. since a lot of their films, like The Hulk, their origins were changed, kicking him out, do a story on that… also do a story on Dr. Blake and his cane, becoming Thor… , ot perhaps come up with a series on things like that… for the traditionists out there… showcase the characters as they were presented in the comics…
Just like Thunderbolt Ross, if given the chance and the powers, Rick is more than capable of becoming a hero. Hulk and the agents of S.M.A.S.H. proved that already! Hulk, Red Hulk, She Hulk, Skarr, and the newest member to the gamma family; Rick Jones as 'awesome bomb' or A-Bomb for short!
Rick Jones is such an important character to The Hulk and Marvel, i'm suprised he's not appeared in the movies yet, since we have Red Hulk in the new Captain America movie why not A-Bomb?
It’s about time someone dedicated a video to one of Marvel’s most underrated and underestimated characters. Rick Jones truly is a great character. And an interesting one. He’s just a regular guy who puts himself in danger t help his superhero comrades, which I and anyone else can admire and look up to. Rick Jones is the kind of person I strive to be. And it really sucks that the MCU completely leaves him out.
Can you do history of the characters mentioned in this video? Are you going to do the history of Rick Jones becoming A-Bomb along with members of the Kree like the Supreme Intelligence and Ronan the Accuser?
What would have happened if we saw Rick Jones in the first Captain Marvel movie with his connection to Mar-Vell? Which actor do you think should have played him?
If you look at the credits of the first SHAZAM movie, you'll see Rick Jones was a 2nd unit driver for that film. So weird that both Captains Marvel had a movie at the same time but Rick was in the DC movie. Must've been salty he's not even mentioned in the MCU.
Ah yes, a feature on the Forrest Gump of Marvel Comics was needed! I never caught on how similar Rick's deal was with Marv-Ell to Billy Batson and Captain Marvel. Even a Sivana in the works, sheesh.
Mar-Vell was my main for so long and he was very unfortunately tied to rick jones. Every issue I hoped they’d get rid of him. And then it seemed like the Super Adaptoid was finally going to fix this. And then Marvel decided to kill off Mar-vell. I had that issue. That very early if not first trade paperback. I was furious. And still this annoying bad penny was always around. As much as I do like your channel, feel free to not bother with another vid about jones. I know I won’t watch it.
Can you do history of Ironheart, Amatsu-Mikaboshi, Arno_Stark Iron Man, Squirrel_Girl, Constrictor, Deathlok, Amadeus_Cho, the Griever, Pepper Potts AKA Rescue and the Agents of Atlas along with Crescent, Morgan_Le_Fey, White Fox and Luna Snow?
Are you going to do history of Ironheart, M'Baku, Namora, Attuma and Shuri as the Black Panther since they played a major role in the Black Panther Wakanda Forever movie?
Can you do history of the Living_Brain, the Elementals, Cyclone, Hydro Man, Molten Man, Puck, Ahab, Rom_the_Spaceknight, Stingray, Noh-Varr Marvel_Boy, Starbrand, Nightmask, Ava Ayala the White Tiger, Crossfire, Living Laser, Century, Lore and Technovore?
Did Rick Jones look good as the 21st century version of Bucky who's the sidekick of Captain America which Steve Rodgers Captain America was reluctant to especially how he thought James Banes was irreplaceable?
the most criminally underrated Marvel channel on the youtube.
Not with 110k plus subs
Yup 👍
I totally agree with you.
It’s way better than the MARVEL HANDBOOK of the 80s
PLEASE more Rick. He has a fascinating history. I think he works best with Hulk over either Captain though. Plus, Hulk needs a more permanent supporting cast
Rick Jones is such an underrated character. He deserves to have the spotlight in the movies.
Definitely
Don't know, even at the time felt like they did not know what to do with Rick Jones, he was stuck into been the hot potato throw within writers, the avatar for youngsters.. and exposition device they could always count if they wanted to jump start a new theme.. if he was created today, his motto would be being tik toker to fight against capitalism, and complaining about his parents wanted him to take care of his own life... his gang would be the crypto bros..
I always wondered why he didn’t show up in the movies.
@@Aaron-zt5ee I started to wonder about myself he's part of Dr banner history
I love this channel because I'm 63 years old and started reading Marvel and DC when I learned to read and you tell me facts about Marvel heroes and villains that I didn't know.
It sounds like Marvel Comics wanted to make their Captain Marvel more like their competitor's Captain Marvel, turning Rick Jones into their Billy Batson.
They did. But it was more like a shout out to the old Captain Marvel, as DC hadn't acquired it yet. Rick Jones even said "Shazam" on occasion.
Roy Thomas is a big golden age fan. Especially the golden age Captain Marvel.
Great video, he was the connective tissue between Hulk, Captain. America, and Captain Marvel, even if they mostly used him to send up Shazam
More Rick!!! Love this channel! Thank you for sharing this and your talents!!!!
I love the adventures of Rick Jones -- they always take you to weird places in the Marvel Universe.
Do more stories Marvel from like 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s. I miss those times.
For sure need more Rick Jones. He's done so much stuff.
Rick looks like he's rolling a blunt at the very beginning. OG Rickrolling.
Rick Jones be thorough a lot over the years.
NOBODY CONNECTS THE MARVEL UNIVERSE TOGETHER LIKE MERRY MARVELITE .. WHICH IS WHY THIS CHANNEL IS 'EXCELSIOR' ..
This was a really good one. Please do a follow-up video.
More Rick Jones, please. He could easily be a 37-part series.
I would also love it if you could do a video on Marvel's "sliding time scale" and how events have changed in later retellings of classic stories.
As always MAKE MINE THE MERRY MARVELITE!!!!

I'm glad Agents of Smash did Rick some justice
More Rick please. i've been thinking for a while that he be an interesting subject for review, if he hadn't already been done. Rick definitely deserves a part two, his time with Joe Fixit, The Professor Hulk, Genis-Vell, Marlo and so on are some of the best stories he was involved with.
…..didn’t mention ROM..
@ ROM lives
Poor Rick, he's really had it rough. With that luck, I wonder if he's related to Peter Parker in some way.
Rick is like the ultimate sidekick. 😂
He's the ultimate groupie. 😅
Rick Jones should have been part of the MCU
Oh yeah
Rick Jones has appeared in the 1966 Hulk cartoon, the 1982 Incredible Hulk, the 1996 Incredible Hulk cartoon (as his human self), and the 2010 Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. cartoon as A-Bomb (his Gamma form) but no live action.
Hated that A-bomb gimmick , tho it does makes sense , he better off as the new "Bucky" or "Mar-Vell"
In the 80s I was never a huge RJ fan but now his story seems very interesting. He needs some type of MCU entry.
I love Rick Jones. I've always wished he was in the movies, especially the mcu.
😂 Wait his middle name Is Milhouse 😂
Same
Such and underrated character.
Came here to say this. Rick is a necessity if they reboot the universe.
Joe Keery didn't began his career when first Avengers came to theaters in 2012. And you can argue that Phill Coulson was his replacement in the MCU rather than Fury, as it was his death that made heroes start to act as a team
Rick Jones has been there for almost every hero in the universe He's a regular guy who no matter what will always lend a hand
One of my favorite Rick Jones stories is during The Immortal Hulk story (The Immortal Hulk Vol 4 Abomination).
I wish you had covered Rick Jones’s time with the Incredible Hulk during Peter David’s run, the Jenus Marvel run and the Jessica Jones issues Rick Jones appeared in.
Love the channel. Keep it up
And he has yet to appear in the mcu, I can’t wait for them to get the rights to Hulk cause it’s so much you could do, and we need another Hulk movie that way they can fully introduce Rick Jones
It's seems like Darcy is the MCU's stand-in for Rick Jones.
This was my dream request from you!
Brilliant video. 👏
I can't wait to see your next Rick Jones video.
Thanks for the amazing video ❤
Please do more of Rick Jones.
Rick Jones is what the movies are lacking. It's the true, Every Man within the marvel universe
Spider-Man, Rick, The X-Men, and Human torch were the only teenagers in the early 60s. Rick is truly a nomad
Love your channel man keep up the good work💯

Can we see you cover ROM Spaceknight Rick Jones showed up in the Rom series about 2/3s through. Also love to see you do Nova Richard Rider 1976-79.
yes a follow up on rick is needed
Yes... part 2 please!
Another Rick Jones follow-up, please! Maybe even up to his A-Bomb persona/power set.
Loved it! I had always wondered who he was and where he came from. Thank you, that was great.
I recently started reading a lot of Hulk, a character I’d never really followed before, and I’ve started appreciating Rick much more
I had no idea Rick Jones had such a rich history, I would definetly like a follow up video
Rick Jones is such an important character to The Hulk and Marvel, i'm suprised he's not appeared in the movies yet, since we have Red Hulk in the new Captain America movie why not A-Bomb?
More recaps of 1960-1975 Marvels please.
Would love to see him dealing with Hulk
It’s about time someone dedicated a video to one of Marvel’s most underrated and underestimated characters. Rick Jones truly is a great character. And an interesting one. He’s just a regular guy who puts himself in danger t help his superhero comrades, which I and anyone else can admire and look up to. Rick Jones is the kind of person I strive to be. I wonder why Rick Jones has never appeared in an MCU movie.
Can you do history of the characters mentioned in this video?
Are you going to do the history of Rick Jones becoming A-Bomb along with members of the Kree like the Supreme Intelligence and Ronan the Accuser?
Follow it up. The future wars saga would be awesome to cover!
Yeah I'd love another Rick Jones video.
Please do Jim Wilson, Thunderbolt Ross and Betty Ross soon. Thank you!
As a fan of marvel, people sometimes ask me what character I would play in the MCU.
Rick Jones, that's who.
No blue Hulk BS.
This person should do his own What If show
Jones is the Best friend anyone could ask for I give him a 10 out of 10
Yes, follow up video would be cool
I would love to have a follow up to Rick Jones' story.
A follow-up video on this character is definitely needed!!!
Yes sir more Rick Jones 👍
Happy New Year 🎉🎉🎉
More please!
Stan Lee would be proud of you Mr. Marvelite
How powerful was Rick Jones with the Nega Bands like should he have kept them after Mar-Vell passed away?
Thunderbolt Ross episode is only a matter of time
Can you please do a video about the Sin-Cong War.
Would love a pt2
What do you think is the best thing about Rick Jones in the comics? Which one of his powers and abilities do you think is the best?
I like him as A-bomb, especially in the Hulk and the Agents of Smash show
rick deserves his own show
More Rick! Great vid.
What would have happened if we saw Rick Jones in the first Captain Marvel movie with his connection to Mar-Vell? Which actor do you think should have played him?
Coming soon to the MCU. I'm Rick Jones BXXXX!! LMAO Now some genius at Disney will use that. SSShheesshhh!!
The way I see Rick is he comes in, exhausts his power to save everyone, and then goes away again
I DEFINITELY want more Rick.
The only character to get screwed worse than Hank Pym in the MCU is Rick Jones.
More Rick!
he was coolest in Peter David's Captain Marvel series. There wouldn't have been an Avengers team without him
He was even a Hulk for a while. Poor guy.
I know I won’t watch it.
please do more rick jones
Dude is secertly one of the most important characters in Marvel and he's still not in the MCU
Aint he venom now?
We need a Hogoblin video
Follow Up! Follow up!! Fol Low UP!!
What about how he became A-Bomb?
Would love a part 2
Can you do history of Ironheart, Amatsu-Mikaboshi, Arno_Stark Iron Man, Squirrel_Girl, Constrictor, Deathlok, Amadeus_Cho, the Griever, Pepper Potts AKA Rescue and the Agents of Atlas along with Crescent, Morgan_Le_Fey, White Fox and Luna Snow?

Which animated movie or TV Show do you think did a great job in portraying Rick Jones especially as A-Bomb?
I'd love more Rick Jones.
What would happen if Rick Jones got similar powers as Mar-Vell with how they were connected with the Nega Bands?
How long till you do Rick Jones becoming A-Bomb? Everyone who had anything to do with Bruce Banner Hulk became a version of the Hulk
Did Rick Jones look good as the 21st century version of Bucky who's the sidekick of Captain America which Steve Rodgers Captain America was reluctant to especially how he thought James Banes was irreplaceable?
So how long till you do history of Zora_Vukovic Victorious since you did the history of Dr_Doom?
