BMW E30 Sport Seat Disassembly

This video shows how to disassemble a Sport Seat from a BMW 325is 1987 (E30) that I purchased from a salvage yard. The "standard" seats in my 325i 1989 need to be reupholstered, and I decided if I was going to spend the time and money, that I might as well do this to the upgraded sports seats. This vid show how to take one apart. Standard Seats should be similar.

other comments complain about the quality but you can see enough... This is a super useful video and got me through the process breaking only the head on one c clip which is a win for me! All this just reupholster a couple bolsters...ill take the time to clean the 30 years of inside grime and clean/relube the mechanisms! Thanks again

I just replaced the recliner shocks on my two seats and this video probably saved me a good hour. Had to us a "quick grip" to compress the 500N sport seat shock.

This video was very helpful for me. I had to replace the rails on one of my e30s due to complete corrosion. I was able to put good working rails and side pieces with good struts in and take a completely failing seat to working 100%. Also not I was able to take a passenger side bottom comfort seat that was in perfect shape and out it on my driver seat that had a perfect back and make my interior 100% not cracked or ripped on that car

Not the best video but great information. Fyi the pliars for the snap ring with the little holes are called snap ring pliars they are very common in anything automotive and their cheap, buy a pair!!

The knob is pressure/pressed fitted......Take a flat head screw driver or pry bar and pry it off.
