FYI Notification LED has green not just red. 3.5mm jack can record video with external mics so a perfect vlogger phone. I think the cameras are better than the OnePlus 7 Pro expect low light I might have do a comparison to confirm this.

The OnePlus 7 Pro camera is a dissapointment in my book, but the reason they got a high DxOMark score was because DxOMark uses a yet to be released software version of OxygenOS, it's a very weird move of OnePlus in case they are actually releasing a update at some point later which fixes all the camera issues considering people are already upset by it
Camera is definitely better than on the Pro 7, recorded my whole Taipei vlog on it with a lav mic, footage looks beautiful, only crop for selfie video could be less but the quality makes up for it. Perfect travel phone, best choice for my trip

As someone who's concerned with privacy, I love the flip camera instead of a front and rear camera setup. Besides, if you're going to take a selfie you should be able to use the best camera (rear) without the aid of things like selfie sticks.

The EIS on this device is definitely brilliant 👏
They did make some compromises though, the IPS panel for example, an interior wide angle lens, but then they have also ticked a lot of correct boxes. So yeah, this phone is indeed a package worth buying!

To me, Zenfone 6 has better overall camera, software and battery but redmi k20 pro is a little bit cheaper and also has better display...both phones are great value for money though.

So basically, OnePlus 7 pro had it's glory. It's over now. This is much better phone for price. Now its between Asus Zenfone 6 and the Redmi K20Pro. Lets see what Chris brings up for us. My buy decisions are based on Chris words. One of the very few TH-camrs I trust.
Did you know the finger print reader can also work as a pull down/swipe menu function?
I'm finally going back to ASUS with this one. The last ASUS I had was way back 2008--a QWERTY Windows Mobile ASUS PDA phone (early smartphone generation).

How would you say the screen compares to something like an iPhone non amoled screen? I’m not a fan of amoled due to the long term reliability of them and am looking for something with a LCD instead.

You can increase the bass from audio wizard app, which is an inbuilt app... Asus always gives users of their flagship Zenfone line the option to costumise the audio quality as per their wish... You can increase the bass by clicking advanced settings in any mode of audio wizard...

I think this is perfect to upgrade from my Essential Phone.
Just a few things to consider:
(1) Major size difference;
(2) WiFi calling and VOLTE may not be available;
(3) No band 66 and 71 for T-mobile. 71 I get but no 66? This phone is rumored to be released in the U.S. and they have three versions of Zenfones. Who is doing their research into the NA market. Fire em! Zenfone 5 had the same issue so this is not new. Otherwise, I'm with you. Miss the headphone jack and the essential is also a LCD.

I booked this phone 4 days ago. And I got this phone today via Flipkart. But the phone looks so stylish and amazing and screen looks like an OLED display. The zenphone's Lcd screen looks exactly like the OLED...

Asus definitely ticked all the boxes for what I want from a smartphone :)
Moreover, once you go 5000 mAh battery, you'll never look back because it WILL carry you thru the day.
As a proud owner of ZenFone Max Pro M1, I think ZenFone 6 will be my next phone-and I actually do prefer IPS to AMOLED or OLED because it just won't burn out that easy.
There is a setting for speaker audio profile. One youtuber said speaker sound quality improved when he changed the settings.

Every other reviewer has rated the LCD display as quite good , one of the best LCDs , including Gsmarena .
You , on the other hand, rate it even lower than a budget device which is surprising giving that this brightens up to 600 nits.
Maybe , you need to check out other opinions.
Hell broke Luce I would take any IPS personal review on the display with some care, the issues the reviewer had, like the light leak, may just be his phone or a batch. From what I have read the specs are great and definitely not an issue per se.

Actually I love the Zen UI on my Zenfone 5, and it's pretty much the same as the Zen UI on Zenfone 6 now with different skin

I feel like this phone was actually a conscious effort from ASUS to make the best phone, and boy did they deliver. Definitely does not feel like an afterthought.

Brilliant review, I must say. As much as I hate phones with display larger than 6.1 inches, Asus Zenfone 6 is truly an exception. This is truly the phone that we need and deserve! Heck, I love Zenfone 6 even more compared to Redmi's so-called "Flagship Killer" phone, K20 Pro (or Mi 9T Pro/Poco F2 Pro, like WTF WITH DIFFERENT MODEL NAME RELEASES???) with the later no longer has an expandable storage. Flagship phone at a budget price, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, a great flipping 48 MP camera (with high-res selfie capabilty) for its price, 5000 mAh battery, stock Android and get this, a DEDICATED microSD slot (screw hybridSIM slot)! Perfect phone for a vlogger. Looking forward for your battery test as well as GCam compatibility video.
Now this is what i call a good phone review. I really liked how you focused on smalld etails like GPS fidelity, screen accuracy etc.
I am disappointed techtablets it's alright if you have a preference for oled but it is factually incorrect that this panel will lose to oled in every way:
This will never get burn in, it objectively has higher sharpness as it is full rgb matrix and not pentile like oled
This has no chance of eye soar caused by PWM eye strain
And this will remain more color accurate as blue subpixels won't die as quickly like in oled
Good review overall but another day another unnecessary jab at IPS screen technology
But oled is better theres a reason that every flagship has it lol

to work for them....
But man... Amoled really makes a big difference, even the cheap panels. Hard to go back when u try it.

They are releasing a 30th anniversary edition that has 12gb RAM + 512gb storage.
That phone should have come with an OLED display since it is the 30th Anniversary device.
The video quality is an impressive . i think Dxomark give it 97 in texture which is rarely found in mobile camera .

I think Zenfone 6 is a solid phone, K20 will have it's advantages but compromises too like very bad microphones that will ruin the video experience like every other Xiaomi phone

On paper, I can forgive almost all its shortcomings.
At this point, getting a mainstream "Flagship" phone mostly defines how much you want to pay for a better camera/better image processing.

Sept for screen this one looks way better option then op7pro. And not to say that prolly most complete package(not saying best)out of all flagships so far next to sam10 but 2x cheaper. Tnx waiting for longer term usage video on this one.

Watching this on a 4k hdr 10 TV. Photos looks great. I'm guessing the Ultrawide is not as good probably because it is wider than others.
Ultrawide would be a killer vlogging camera. Coupled with eis cropping and a true flash, this would be unmatched, especially at night while traveling. Compared with pixel or mi 9 not as good audio, hard to beat. And you can rotate the lens without hard transitions to do live stream while you explore the night food markets.
I wish the next version will do flip time lapse on tripod. That would be sick. No need to carry a dolly. And I heard you can stand the phone on a table. So maybe can save a tripod sometimes. Static time lapse maybe.
So far it's the best vlogger phone around and also supports external mics. I'm overall impressed with it. Great phone that im using nonstop despite owning a OnePlus 7 Pro this phone is more of a well rounded package
I forgot it has a monster battery too and micro sd support. I think TH-camr generation would be very pleased. If only it has rog 90hz oled.

The only minor downside of this phone would be the display, rest everything is great.
However, AMOLED displays have screen burn in issues. My OnePlus 3, which is now close to 3 years old has burn in issues after a year of use in the status bar region , even when i have been using this phone on almost 99% of the times on 20% brightness. I'm glad that Asus has gone with a IPS panel rather than providing a cheap AMOLED panel at this amazing price.
This is what OnePlus phones used to be. The price is very decent!

Actually I don't know if anyone thought about this but this flip camera has a huge merit- Privacy! The front camera is used only when you are shooting photos or videos or face unlock, at other times it will remain on the back, so this will be perfect for pricacy
I'm still waiting for my order, I expected delay as I went for silver and not black, hopefully it will not be 2 months wait like mi9.
Hmm so I ordered mi9 long time ago and then 2 months nothing, ok, so no xiaomi, no big deal. Now this phone I really liked, so i ordered it 2019-05-17 - silver 128, now expected delivery is 2019-06-20 so more then month later. Please manufaturers do not introduce phones, and put into shops, that you do not have. Only sell phones that people can actually buy, this is terrible! BTW same thing with buying new car - it usually takes so long for it to deliver that I will rather buy used.
