I'm Brazilian and I consider this to be the best World Cup I watched. No other Cup had so many legends together in the field since then. This WC had the best Sweden, Bulgaria, Romania, USA and Nigeria of all time.

The Brazilian players at this time were superior to the European players. For example Jorginho who played at Bayer 04 was far more comfortable on the ball.

Brolin was unstoppable and at his peak during World Cup 94. It's weird how he only few months after the World Cup broke his foot and was never the same player again, and he was only 24 at the time. If there is a equivalent in the Swedish National Team today, then I would say Emil Forsberg, which is funny since they both played for the same team (GIF Sundsvall) in the early beginnings of their careers.

This Swedish team scored (15 goals in 7 games) at the 1994 World Cup, thats up there with the most goals scored in the modern era. Spain in 2010 only scored 8 goals in 7 games when they won the World Cup, very boring champions to be honest. Had the luxury of being able to keep the ball but just weren't exciting. Even the champions Brazil in 94 scored 11 goals, Italy 8 in 7, Holland 8 in 5 etc, so Sweden 94 team along with the Brazil 82 team (15 goals in 5 games) were the most entertaining teams not to win the World Cup.

His other goals were an equaliser in a game Sweden won on pens and a goal in the third place play-off, a glorified friendly which nobody cares about. Watching this WC when I was 9. Unbelievable tournament! Sweden and Romania were playing great football. Everyone today will recall Bulgaria but those two teams were something special. Anyway best Saudis ever, strong Switzerland, USA which did a great job to make the "soccer" known in this country, still giants from Holland and Germany, very good Spain, biggest disappointment Columbia with Valderrama... Really special tournament... And, what hard to believe today without: France, England, Portugal, Uruguay, Japan...
I love Brolin, one of my favourite players of that time but I can't say he was the best player at that WC. Romario & Roberto Baggio were probably the best at that WC but Brolin wasn't far behind. Honourable mention to Leonardo of Brazil who was fantastic in that WC until he elbowed Ramos in the head!

Sweden played vs Brazil 2 times in that tournament and was imo slightly better. 1 first game Sweden dominated.
