well, you are wrong, coz thise Brazil team led the cup in posession, passes, shots and literally created like 10 chances per match. The stereotypes and myhts about this are quite absurd, mostly because the brazilians thenselves didn't enjoy their style which looked a lo like the Spain of later years, while the traditional brazilian style you do have more possession but more like 55-60 instead of 65-75%, they sacrificed a bit of speed and verticality to gain control, which made then nearly impossible to beat but as it wasn't the traditional brazilian style also made then a bit umpopular at home and so this stereotype got spread across the world over the years. But they played absolutely beautiful football, much better for example than the 98 France and 02 Brazil who were probably mote high profile

The fact that Italy almost won it with these horrible performances speaks for itself. They didn't have one good game. Probably the game against Bulgaria was their only decent game. Brazil had an easy group and played against the US and Sweden on their way to the final. Both are far away from being top teams. It was a very lousy World Cup in general.

What's ironic in this world cup about the 2 finalists is that they both had shaky starts to the knockout round and none convincing victories against their second round opponents. Italy vs Nigeria was a wake up call for the Italians and probably their worst match in the knockout stage before the final and same for brazil here as well against the Americans.
