  • Quick video covering replacing a faulty thermostat/housing on Volkswagen V10 TDI engines. This specific video was on an 2004 although 2006-2008 are similar/easier.
This one would throw code P0128 temperature below control range.

Great Video again Josh . I did the Thermostat on my 2007 that doesn’t have the hard line . I didn’t use a vacuum to refill the cooling system just filled it and let it run and kept topping it up absolutely no problems .

Thanks, it looks a lot more open on my 06 without that hardline. It went to the fuel cooler with the dual filter set up so I guess it comes down to the non-dpf engines vs dpf engines whether you have it or not (dpf’s started in 06 on this side of the pond). Yeah that vacuum bleeder isn’t needed just saves bleeding it out (which isn’t hard on these).

I just did mine without seeing this first. I emailed fcp saying the gasket was it the picture. They agreed and sent me one. Great video!

Thanks, it’s a bit deceiving but whatever, the gasket was cheap enough from vw, shipping the lone gasket to Canada would of been more then it’s worth.
