Fantastic archive footage. Such a treat to see those old ferries in action. The Chartres entering the old Camber at Dover whilst the Free Enterprise V heads over to Calais. Great looking ships. A very different era.

I remember this back in 1977 we regularly had no sound we mostly communicated with gestures and lip reading.

YES INDEED Capt. Bob Blowers, later to be in command of Pride of Calais.
A fine gentleman and a good golfer. Always nice to have a chat with him and a always a warm welcome on the bridge. Regards sir.
