I Tried 4 "Fast" Electric Motorcycles

- I rode the Rumble Air SS, Rawrr Mantis, Caofen F80, and Cake Kalk electric motorcycles. Here's my thoughts on these highly popular Ebikes.
If you're in the market for a high power electric bike, you've probably heard of at least one of these brands. Each of these electric motorcycles, or ebikes, electric dirtibikes, or whatever you wanna call them have been getting a lot of hype online... but are they worth it?
The Sur Ron has long been the king of lightweight and affordable ebikes, but the Talaria Sting MX4 has recently stole the spotlight, but there are many more options for electric motorcycles available. Hopefully I'll be able to ride them all in my lifetime and share my experience here. Enjoy!
I like how you have the gopro mounted on your chest. It gives the viewer the sense there riding the ebike your on.

I just got the Rawrr Mantis 72 volts and it’s amazing!!!!!!!
The reason for the back brake being a foot brake on the Cake is because it’s a typical moto style and cake makes real “dirt bike” style bikes where you would 100% want a foot brake
True, I like the foot brake, would be cool if they had a lever on the left hand that also operated the rear brake or worked as a clutch of some sort. Riding so much electric I’ve gotten really used to that setup since most electrics use that format

Why is a foot brake more desirable for a dirt bike? Just wondering.
I don't see how and rear level isn't better than a foot brake. I mean especially if you don't have a clutch. No point in a foot brake imo
@@brentcollins9727 It only make sense if you have to control a clutch, but for any vehicle with no clutche, it does not make sense a disadvantage having a foot brake.
I think I was in that test track oval with you on the onyx rcr. I remembered that slow lady in the trike with turn signal on.

I've got the street legal version of the caofen f80 featured in this video over here in the uk. Mine has a 72v 48ah battery plus the reason i got it is because of the heating and cooling element in the battery. Basically it doesnt experience the range drop typically associated with ev's to anywhere near the same degree and you can charge it below freezing temperatures which is how cold it can get here. Amazing bike and goes 56mph.

How does the solar eclipse stack up to all the bikes you have ridden? Pretty dead set on the eclipse right now. The 72v all carbon fiber and good size battery's. I heard you mention u might upgrade controller for more power any update on that? Keep up the good work.
It’s been a pretty good for a light weight/good range commuter for street riding, although it does seem to turn off once per ride unexpectedly. Hope they get that sorted out. I should get more details on a controller upgrade next week. Power-wise, two of the bikes in this video are def stronger than eclipse but also weigh more. Ultimately I think the eclipse would be best with belt drive and street tires and kept on the pavement mostly due to the swing arm mounted motor with low clearance. 🙏 thanks!

11:19 That's the Rumble Motors lead, riding the Apex- I've been scraping and scouring the internet to learn everything I can about it and I still have SO MANY questions I want to ask him 😩I need to ask about the 60v battery upgrade that they might be planning, and running both the batteries at the same time
I'd love you forever if you could test it out and give your thoughts on it 🙏 I cannot overstate how obsessed I've been about the Apex

@@JuicedJoyrides Yes!! You got it! The 1st derivative of position is velocity, 2nd would be acceleration, 3rd is jerk. Actually, I started off in the college of engineering when I went for an EE degree. Well before it would have made sense to, instead, do a dual major, I changed my major to computer science and I work as a programmer.
Rep says the sprocket is 82-85 when it's visibly a 108T :) close enuf
And that smaller sprocket would give more torque 😆
fast is relative, fast compared to a bicycles yeah, compared to a moto no. You got me sold, I'm getting a Talaria, lol. That cake cost more than my ZeroSR with 3k miles used by several grand.

@@JuicedJoyrides I think they had a newer production version at the event. If you are able to get one, that’s be good. They have been pretty hush hush on answering any questions about their upcoming anthem and seem to be trying to target the electric motorcycle market rather than targeting the electric bike/pev market which has a younger crowd that typically doesn’t have an m1 license

You are right, Cake puts huge sprockets to achieve the absolutely insane torque. 11:56 says 280nm. A KTM 450 has about 50nm. Just please don't call the Kalk "Cock".

those are not motorcycles those are pit bikes. a motorcycle should be able to pass a car on the highway. Zero, Energica, Livewire, etc

That entire ebike show is irresponsible putting powerful motorcycles in the hands of people who have never ridded ebikes, and especially motorcycles!! Like your last ride, all motorcycles have rear brakes on the right foot, and you were uncomfortable with it. For motorcyclists, the right foot brake is the natural place for it.
That rumble bike is hideos.
those are not motorcycles, more like e bikes, e motorcross.

@@JuicedJoyrides well when you say "fast electric motorcycles", there's some commercial ones that can do 200mph+ with 2 sec 0-60 lol, none of these can even do highway speed, they're slow emotos, or fast ebikes

Because these are basically toys for kids who can't drive yet, hooligans who are skirting the road laws or need a second throw-around bike from their motorcycle/truck, or dudes needing a ride after getting their 3rd DUI and license cut up.
You're correct, if you're spending 5k and up on an Ebike that can't even hit 70 and has a 40 mile range...there's literally no reason to get one. Just get a motorcycle, you can grab a brand new CBR300R for 5k OTD and it'll get you farther faster with no highway speed struggle.
