This game brought the Need For Speed franchise back to its 90s roots. The world of Seacrest County is vast and beautiful, the cops are relentless, the cars were interesting for the game in 2010 and it still is today. Still loved the Murcielago SV regardless of being a Racer or Cop. But facing online players is downright crazy, especially when facing against the veteran players who have been playing the game since 2010. It's also an even bigger challenge when beating your friends' times on the Speedwall leaderboard which tracks who's the fastest in every Race event or Cop assignment. All in all, the game is a reminder of how the series started but kept it updated for today's generation. People still quipping about car customization and night-time illegal street racing in neon-lit cities need to take a hint and dive deep in Need For Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered to better understand the series' roots.
No.
Need For Speed Hot Pursuit was criticized when it was first released.
I wouldn't say that it "brought the franchise back to its 90s roots".
@@borla4491 On an aesthetic level it did.
The handling and mechanics were too heavily geared towards the drift for boost and take down mechanics to be a real return to the gameplay of the 90s Need for Speeds.
@@wabbit234 Uh', go play NFS 3 Hot Pursuit, and NFS High Stakes both on play station and get back 2 me
I’m shocked this channel isn’t massive yet. You do a great job on all of these reviews especially the retro ones.
Your videos deserve many more views for the time and effort you've put in them. These reviews remind me of the old CGRundertow days (whatever happened to the channel?).
Screw that channel. Gaming Pastime is nothing like them. This guy is at least reviewing the game stating pros & cons compare to that other guy just spitting gibberish & ramble talk. There's no actual review just a whole bucket of nonsense rubbish.
CGR was very brief in their reviews, so this feels like a much beefier version of their style. I do still miss CGR though...
CGR shut down because people keep stealing their videos without permission and no one watches their videos anymore
My favorite event in this game is called “Power Struggle”
Activating the turbo on the straight section is so satisfying
Nice to see that you're doing one of my favorite modern Need for Speed game justice.
You didn't mentioned another problematic issue: the traffic spawning.
Hot Pursuit is one of my favorite games, I didn't know it got remastered it gives me an excuse to jump back into it.
I've got gold on all events no problem, minus the occasional bad traffic spawning.
I definitely recommend this game especially if you're on PS5/Series X since it runs at 4k@60fps on those consoles. It's very fun, responsive, and gorgeous
Need for Speed Most Wanted 2005 will usually always be every1's favorite installment in the series
I've had my share of technical issues. I've had cars randomly pop out like a foot in front of me, the pursuit theme randomly changes during one hot pursuit event for racer, and there was one instance where my car was oddly flying in midair.
great review, I think your voice is clipping and little loud incase yall didnt notice
NFS III remains the best.
Exactly.
I'm having a hard time getting gold in the time trials and rapid responses. The other modes are much easier IMO.
You didn't have to mute the menu and pursuit themes though. Shit. Those were the best part. I even had a favorite theme and playlist that I wanted to share.
I still don't understand why so many people are quick to hate on the remastered version.
Becuz it's actually a downgrade tje only good it has is the dlc money saved on disc.
Any chance of nfs most wanted review? That game is famous for its cop chases and sounds right up your alley.
This remaster is the definition of:" It's the same picture.".
This game has the longest distance track compare to any need for speed series which 70 km
"It's PORSCH-UH" - Joey
I am playing this on switch lite and wont lie it is actually super fun to play.Ea really did a great job with the port and the game is ofc fantastic
do you have a Medal of Honor Rising Sun review?
It's enjoyable, but it isn't the hot pursuit 2 spiritual successor I was looking for. However the lack of an offline custom race mode is a letdown. Free roaming with your favorite vehicles is still cool though but man it needed a lot more than this!
Why didn't you mentioned the chase themes?
Please tell me you've listened to the pursuit themes.
It is now on sale for 10 bucks. I most likely am buying it.
the last good NFS game
I don't understand why people are so quick to hate on the remaster. It's still the same Hot Pursuit we all know and love, so I don't get all the hate.
Game so great they made it twice
This and rivals aee diffrent
>crossplay
wow nice
Need For Speed Hot Pursuit Remaster is just a Rerelease.....I rather Need For Speed 3: Hot Pursuit(PlayStation) compared to Need For Speed : Hot Pursuit.
Ew it's the "remastered" version that takes 3x (if not more) the amount of disk space and requires way more powerful hardware yet manages to look worse than the 2010 PC original.
I enjoyed the remaster.
@@RacerC45 The unjustifiably high system reqs are an insult to me and I'll never touch the damn thing. It's not that I can't run it, it's that they bloated the game without any improvements that justify such bloat (sure, custom decals are cool, but that isn't enough to take the game from 7GB to 40GB. This is worse than GTA San Andreas 10th Anniversary.
How about the better graphics for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S?
@@cannedbeverage7687 I played it on my Xbox One.
@@RacerC45 Well, at least there it makes sense to play it, so that's the one good thing (excluding multiplayer) that the remaster has going for it.
This remastered game on ps4 does not support logitech G29
The game that finally shooed away from NFS.
Yep.
Another thing you didn't point out is during Hot Pursuit events as a racer, cops are only focused on you and only you, like you're a be all, end all.
The Wii version was not developed by Criterion, but by Exient Entertainment, who also developed the garbage PS2 and Wii versions of NFS Undercover, the almost flawless PS2 port of Nascar '08, ProStreet on PS2, and other games
Completely pointless remaster
Yeah, but did the graphics is more better for Xbox Series X/S and PS5? (Just wondering)
Wouldn't be as pointless if the ghost games didn't suck as much! 🤷🏿♀️. Okay maybe all but heat to an extent but still
Absolutely wrong, crossplay alone is awesome
But I enjoyed the remaster.
Completely pointless comment
