"It's such a big deal!" they say, not once stating which hotel so that people can make informed decisions. 😡😡😡😡😡😡
Back in 1961 my Dad was found to have T.B. He was cured but the CDC actively tracked my family for 10 years. We had to get tested every year. The govt back then didn't fool around and we moved several times, due to my Dad's job but every year they showed up and tested us at our house.
yeah, weird how times have changed now, eh?
I work at a state hospital, it's mostly immigrants as well as people who travel back to their homeland coming back with TB.
To what extent could this be anti-biotic resistant? Better check. TB has been around the homeless population for a long time, among others. I knew someone who was homeless who had it. (SF Bay area) He subsequently died of other things, but the TB certainly could not have helped. In general, to what extent is anti-biotic resistance on the rise, especially within more vulnerable populations like the homeless? In the state of California?
Dr. Gupta gave some good general advice. However, having studied nursing and maintained an EMT for awhile, I can say it never hurts to ask questions. If you're not sure if you've been exposed request to be tested. Don't wait to be told to do it. Do it. TB is nothing to fool around with. It can be deadly, at the very least very damaging, and it can spread like wildfire. If there's a chance you've been exposed, get yourself tested. It's a very simple, painless and easy test.
Thanks for a good report.
Take NAC and you’ll be fine.
we saw it in the hospital all the time, never anything real bad, just took weeks to clear like pnuemonia. just takes forever cause it gets in there so deep
@@barbarashaffer8486 As a nursing student, I had to work with a patient in contact isolation b/c of MRSA. Being a rookie it was pretty scary. 2 days later I was in a local coffee shop and in hobbled my patient! I had just had to totally gown up and take all the extra measures for this guy. What was he doing waltzing into a coffee shop? Lol - I grabbed my coffee and got out of there.
Fear sells.
Doctor on another TH-cam report said they are coming from other countries.
You just now figuring that out?
Mexico, it's 🐝 bad there since the 90s
Nah! This is not new! TB has been circulating in LA for awhile. Undocumented immigration, foreign travelers, homeless, drug users all high risk! Don't panic and if concerned get a TB test a simple bubble under the skin and a follow up X-Ray if needed.
Thank you 😊
Illegal criminals. Fixed it.
Treatment is oral medications for 9months to a year. I was exposed as an RN. Positive Mantoux negative chest X-ray for more that 30 years. My exposure was with a wealthy man who travels and had another disease that brought it forward. Don’t blame immigrants. It could literally anyone.
Thanks for letting us know.
Dont underestimate TB. Get tested if you think you got infected or experience symptoms.
With countless people, aho originating in various Central American nations, straming into the US like a flood, this will happen.
Vote Red in November plz
Yeah the MAGAs rejected the border law which could have stopped this because Trump got scared it will affect his chance.
The thing is that doesn't TB have the ability to stay dormant for years? So you could be carrying it and never know it? So why is it becoming widely symptomatic now? Did it change somehow? jfc this is a nightmare.
Let me see about getting a vaccine now before it's too late. 😑
The fact that you didn't stay vaccinated shows your lack of basic intelligence.
Tuberculosis is a horrible medical pandemic.
The sun cure most illness 🎉
The same TB that is a global issue - so weird that they talk about it like a renewed issue
It hasn't been a real issue for the US for decades, thanks to our past medical and vetting practices for people coming into the US. Now, of course, all bets are off.
What? Surprise that BCG is not required in the US. That’s so sad. The US is heading back to the medieval age.. 4:55
TB became so rare here, it wasn’t considered necessary, but is still recommended for those at high risk of exposure & schools require kids be test for it. It’s not like the polio outbreaks caused by people opting out of vaccines that are still very much advised. I wish they could all talk to my grandma, whose last memory of her 1st born, is hearing her cry “Mama!”, while being pulled away to be quarantined from her, because my grandma was pregnant with her 2nd. Thanks to the polio vaccine becoming available, the following 3 generations of our family have all been safe from that terrible disease.
@@hks2377 My heart breaks for your grandma. I can't even imagine. How horribly sad.
This is nothing to play with.People need to be quarantined from others.
this is one of the things that happens when you export jobs and import poverty for the last 40 years.
And import 3rd world immigrants...
i believe corporations and their lobbyist call this "free market economy." let us also not forget the push by anti-vaxxers consistently questioning the science aspect of bio-pharma industry and not the C-Suite execs and hedge fund managers. really, business leaders have been bad since reagan gave them the green light to transfer wealth from working class to investing class.
Hmmmmmm.... open borders might have something to do about it
DISCLOSURE is required!! How and who are the affected? Limited facts for the source of the outbreak. 1. Allow unvetted persons into our communities. 2. Create a FEAR to support an increase of cooperation of restrictions, moving about our communities. 3. Initiate guidelines the general public should follow (data collection) within county and government settings.
COORDINATED CRISIS .
😢it's serious for the elderly or kids even immune compromised people
This doctor is about 100% more informative than the female doc who broadcast for ABC. Thanks, Dr. Gupta!!!
Get John Green on the case!
I came here looking for him haha
I think Fauci will take care of this.
On the rise since 2020 - wonder what else was happening that year?
If you work in healthcare particularly with county or homeless facilities it’s almost a given that you are at risk of exposure to TB, may not have symptoms.
I bet they are of a certain no legal status if the cases are high risk people in a hotel.
John Green Was just on tour in LA........
and that's a huge thing that its highly contagious but such a high percentage don't have symptoms (something I know from experience of a friend). The antibiotics are months and many pills and not minor to take and get clear of
I can't afford to miss work, if i catch it i catch it.
Lots of homeless = lots of TB cases
Don't forget the invaders.
@@nonuser1532 Agreed!
Could you get it twice ? I got TB when I lived in Hawaii 1994.
Yes, you can. TB stays dormant in the system for life. It can reappear decades later. It can also affect other body systems besides the lungs. It's something you should always mention to your doc when dealing with a weird symptom.
Arthur Morgan... we are coming too ...
Omg
Just one more score Arther!

Gavin Newsome: “That’s the California way!”😅
Thank Biden and his border policy.
Joe Biden close the border
He tried but your Trump stopped him.
Homeless and open borders
Poverty and overcrowding.
@@HuplesCatWrong. Tuberculosis in the States was so minimal in the past decades that we stopped prophylactic vaccination of our population. Increased illegal immigration without any sort of health vetting (as happens in legal immigration) brings this to us now.
@@marycontrary6216 thanks Mary. You claim TB had disappeared from the USA and it is only back due to open borders? Not sure of your medical background but mine tells me both those claims have no merit at all.
Lol. Super.

This is what open borders gets you
Way to go California 👍😷😆🫵
RIGHT IN TIME FOR THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECELECTION
They ignored the "Elephant in the Room:" In modern America, TB is *often* comorbid with AIDS. How could they mention "homeless" - but not "AIDS" as a risk factor?
AIDS counts as "immune depressed" just li,e LUPUS or RA.
On the rise since 2020 eh? Hmmm…….What else went on from around that time? Oh yeah. I remember.
I'll be your Huckleberry.
Stay far away from people. Gross

Let me guess. Originated from a 3rd world country who came in through our open border? Homelessness could just be one of the factors.
American people are the next Palestinians
Who trust health industry ? 🔼🔽
Sucks to not be vaccinated.
Only those considered "high risk" are vaccinated in the US at this time. Levels were so low in the past decades that TB was not considered to be real risk in the States.
@@marycontrary6216 WRONG. You have to be vaccinated against TB to go to public school. I was vaccinated against TB in school and I am over 40, so that has been the case for decades.
@@rosameryrojas-delcerro1059 That may have been the case when you were a kid, like it was for me.
My children were not vaccinated for it. The oldest is 26.
We no longer vaccinate for it unless there's special circumstances (someone in the household with the condition, etc.)
You obviously don't have a clue about our current (US) childhood vaccination schedule.
@@marycontrary6216 They are still requiring vaccinations including TB in CA including universities and they require a test if you have traveled to certain countries with high risk. (former teacher here)... I have no clue where you are, but these people suffering from TB in CA are the exception to the rule, or anti-vaxxers.
@@rosameryrojas-delcerro1059
I don't think so.
From the CDC: "BCG vaccination should only be considered for children who have a negative TB test and who are continually exposed, and cannot be separated from adults who are untreated or ineffectively treated for TB disease, and the child cannot be given long-term primary preventive treatment for TB infection; or have isoniazid- and rifampin-resistant strains of TB disease."
Kids in the US, even in CA, are NOT getting the BCG unless there's a real risk/reason for it (which soon enough there will be). I'm really doubting that it's being given to adults, since it's known to have unpleasant effects and it's not completely effective.
CDC: "In the United States, BCG is only considered for people who meet specific criteria and in consultation with a TB expert. Health care providers can consult their state or local TB control program for questions about BCG vaccination for their patients."
Make sure to thank the invaders.
I want some, loss of weight is why, I'm one illness away from losing that last pesky 5lbs of my soul and then I can wear skinny pants again.
Open borders?😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Thank Biden.
At the same time atheistic White Ashkenazis are asserting a power that they cannot have.
They have the highest IQ's so power naturally be in their hands.
Joe Biden open border
They should be reporting the name of the hotel. 🫤
About all California hotels and motels that host homeless and druggies. No brainer 😊, Karen Bass project key for druggies and druglords.
Here we go. Old Joe is playing his last card. Nice try though. We’re not falling for it again. I’m voting & im voting in person.
