    I SO thank you for this talk, Pastor Morrison. I've been in this mentality for decades.
    Thank you for giving me the vocabulary to understand what God and others have been trying to tell me.
    I love your teaching talks. God bless.

    That part about inspecting my own heart instead of judging the motives of the hearts of others, was worth this whole episode.

    My earthly father always reminds me and says, Love people where they're at, not where you want them to be. I'm still learning this myself today.

      Me too. I am surrounded by really, really despicable 😈 people, and it is a challenge to pray for them. I have to remember they also were made in the image of God, and are redeemable.

      One thing I was told by a leader in my church was that not only does God love us, but God loves the most difficult people we have in our lives as well. We have to learn as God's children to treat them with grace and understanding as well. That's one of the hard things to do, but as a child of God, we can address those situations and people through Christ and His love.

    • @gaylechristensen6285
      @gaylechristensen6285 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @kewilemon Well, yes and no. Sometimes these people are put in our lives by the enemy, to be a stronghold, and stop us from grasping the Blessings God has for us. This passive, weak Christianity is what's pushed out from the pulpit. We are supposed to be armed with the sword of the Bible, and the full armour. There are things God hates, with righteous hatred.
      To Fear The Lord is to Hate 😈 Evil.
      I hate a Proud and Haughty Spirit, perverse speech,, and Evil Behavior.
      (Translated from Proverbs 16)

    Sometimes I worry I’m battling this, especially the wanting to be noticed. I don’t wanna get in my own head and overthink but I worry or wonder if it has anything to do with what I faced in childhood. Can being neglected and bullied in many ways by people who were responsible for you cause someone who felt invisible and like an orphan most of their life to battle with this? I just recently came back to God after spending the last half of my 20’s distanced and lost. It’s very difficult being around my family. There is always negativity, emotional manipulation, people don’t sit and deal with conflict. The silent treatment is and has always been used as punishment. People walk away, bury, or deflect and project instead of talking through things. I just don’t really know how to be around them when I always leave so sad, disappointed and frustrated.

    When the student is ready, the teacher will come. Thank you for teaching me/us with sound and biblical facts. This is a sensitive subject matter and is often discussed recklessly. When I saw myself throughout this episode, I didn't feel attacked, I felt educated and loved. May God continue to bless and keep you Pastor Preston.😇🥰

    Addressing self pity, yes, that is what it is. I’ve wallowed in it before and probably will do so again. But, I think next time, I’ll wallow there briefly instead of for years.
    I took all my thoughts and feelings of pity and talked to God about all of them as well as hours of meditating on His Word. God delivered me of this self absorption gradually. When it starts 10:42 to come back, back to talking to the One who understands and meditating on His Word. This in addition, not a whisper of these thoughts or feelings to another human being. I think both are critical to get free of this.

    If being hurt by the church causes you to lose faith in God then your faith was in people, not God.
    And if God asks you a question, just remember He already know the answer….
