So incredible for Poland to get one of these tanks back. The Renault tanks found in Afghanistan had originally been Polish, but then captured by the Soviets, and later sent to the kind of Afghanistan. Poland has so few examples of their pre-WWII and WWII military equipment left. This is really a unique treasure.

This one was actually found there - one of the version of his history is that it was tank captured by the Soviets during Polish-Soviet war (1919 - 1920). Then it became a Soviet gift for the Afghan army. Other version is, that it was sold by Poles in early 30thies to Spain, than it was sold/given to the Afghan sultan. It is true, that Poland operated about 100 of these tanks in September 1939. They were used in training and used in combat as a fixed fire points, some of them were operated as a part of the armored trains as armored trolleys.
Des chars FT ont bel et bien été récupérés en Afghanistan dans une casse-auto et l'un d'entre eux a été offert (je crois) à la Pologne, car ils étaient au départ dans l'armée polonaise, avant que les Soviétiques ne les volent, avant de les refourguer aux Afghans.
