  • From O. J. Simpson and Donald Trump to Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, Alan Dershowitz has spent most of his career defending the ultra-wealthy who've landed in egregious legal trouble. Here’s how he went from teaching law at Harvard to becoming one of the most infamous lawyers in U.S. history. Narrated by Margaret Cho

Hi @jessicabw. That is just what good professional lawyers do. They try to get the best deal that they can for their clients. You would want that kind of assistance too, if you were accused of a crime. In the United States of America it is accepted that every citizen has the right to have legal counsel for their defence, no matter what crime they have been accused of. Apparently, women of a strong feminist persuasion don't seem to think this should apply to to men accused of crimes against women. 🤠

Every attorney by definition of ethics rules must defend their client to the fullest extent. We are never to question the validity of our client's innocence. This, like this attorney, disgusts them....until the person being prosecuted is themselves. Then you wish you had a Dershowitz as your attorney.
It's the same as Dr. Mudd who set Booth's broken leg. The doctor was sentenced to 10 years in prison for aiding the assassin. Regardless, the rule is that a doctor treats the patient regardless of how despicable the person is.
It's a little easier with doctors since they use science. With attorneys there is public relations and questions about how far can someone go to represent someone.

@Mateo Hodge "Often"?... you mean almost entirely... 98% of all court proceedings in the United States are plea deals.... If just 20% of those people charged invoked their right to a jury trial, it'd bring the system down overnight... Court dockets would be backed up for half a decade, the state (prosecutors) would be forced to capitulate, it'd be glorious.... Could you imagine if 50% or more of all defendants demanded jury trials?
I had a friend once that a county prosecutor was trying to go after because the restaurant they worked out was burglarized, and although the police had absolutely zero leads or evidence, they went after my friend because they had a record of drug possession charges (BTW, drug prohibition must end, all drugs need to be legalized and regulated, but NOT commercialized... this would single handedly be the best and fastest way to reign in the power of the police, the militarization of the police, their inflated budgets, curb the power of prosecutors and stop the complete waste of over $100 billion state and federal funds annually). They kept trying to intimidate by friend into confessing and then accepting a plea deal, so my friend came to me for advice (I have previously represented myself in court on a criminal charge and had all charges dismissed along with beating multiple tickets while representing myself), so I told my friend to tell the prosecutor that you demand a jury trial, not a bench trial, but a jury trial.
The prosecutor made another treat that they'd go after the maximum punishment, but I told my friend to hold firm... A week later, the prosecutor offers my friend a better plea deal, my friend rejects it and demands a jury trial, again the prosecutor offers a better deal a week later, my friend rejects it... This goes back and forth for about 6 weeks, but my friend held strong and demanded that jury trial, eventually the prosecutor dropped all charges and left my friend alone forever.
Prosecutors FEAR jury trials, they're expensive, time consuming, and if the prosecutor doesn't win they look like a fool... If you are ever threatened by a prosecutor, they have no evidence and you know you're innocent, demand a jury trial.

As to his involvement with Epstein; I have to question his account of their relationship. Now, his 'poor me' about being excluded by the rich and famous as being some form of 'McCarthyism' - please...

Yeah, Dershowitz is a real first-class jerk outside of the courtroom. But his courtroom work is exactly what a good criminal defense lawyer should do, whether their client is innocent, guilty, or somewhere in-between. Are you saying the criminal defense lawyers should not defend their clients? Please explain.

The laws need to be changed so that an attorney may not intentionally lie in a courtroom.

They attended her wedding through the association of her parents, other than that she has no connection to them. Just a few years before that she and the Clintons attended Trumps wedding with Melania.

Horrible. Plain horrible. They should, directly be cut off of their properties. But the government wont do that because it is a cesspool of tyrannical creatures who have their own self interests. Oh all the money and resources that could be stripped off of these buffoons and given to the kind and poor folks who are put down by situations!

They're supposed to Love's learning the mind of certain people with criminal behaviors. He believes that rooting around in their brain, while under the veil of reasonable doubt, himself, allows him to better find ways to defend such people. And he's a very good defense attorney.

This is not about you. I don't like this new thing where TH-cam is linking multiple videos from the same channel. It makes it harder for me to manage my viewing. I often view one video and then do something else and return later. This complicates it.
