I really enjoyed this! Thank you!! Even though I have assembled enough of these now to no longer need the assembly manual I still enjoy watching someone else do it! I have been a professional tech for more than 30 years and have recently started doing pretty much only transmission work. The work has renewed my enjoyment for the industry and as always there is never a time when I’m not learning something new.
I did my Corvette servo on my 01 Silverado trans still in. I didn't have to drop exhaust or pan worked good and used the longer gm pin I did check the cover travel though with dial indicator, good videos you put out thanks.
I cut a 1” strip off a 5 gallon bucket, bent the ends back enough to get a bolt through and connected each end to make a perfect alignment tool for the pump housing.
Thanks for the tip about the servo retaining ring. I popped mine off and put it in the correct orientation this morning. I just put it in a few weeks back and haven't driven it much. I had the gap on the small side between the cuts. i do have a transgo kit in it so am sure it would have blown off at some point after hearing about the problems you've seen.
awesome series lots of good info, getting ready to tackle my 01 Tahoe 4l60e, while going up a grade the transmission went to kick down out of 4th lost forward "bite" (felt as though trans went into neutral) followed by a loud grinding, lifted off the throttle, briefly, applied throttle and away we went, now i have a loud rotational clicking in 1st 3rd and reverse, what should be my focus during break down? other than the noise transmission has all gears and functions "normally"
You broke the sprag. Its only a single cage stock so its easily broken with that weight on kickdown freewheeling in 4th and immediately locking in reverse. Your problem isnt going to be hard to solve and be easier on those kickdowns unless you have a built transmission
I have gas dodge, maybe my lock up intermediate shiver from clipped tq seal and loss oh 4th and lock up being my wires. Loss of my 4th and lock i disconnected battery and i get all my gears again. Pending P0740, P0734, P0735. 06 ram 1500
There is a 4th way. It's to just use 2 aluminum pistons n double stack the 4th gear accumulator with 2 pistons. That also blocks it. N firms up 4th gear. N also is easier to undo if someone wants to.
Awesome series Ryan ----- many thanks and very best wishes for 2024

Happy New Year! And thanks for the OEM build start to finish. It’s much appreciated.

Thanks your good
Thank’s a lot ,,,from Bangkok.
OEM spec for band clearance is .075 - .125". I try to run .070" as long as I can spin the input without the band holding the drum when released.
Such a nice job 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍💪💪💪💪😎😎😎😎😎
I’m having a hard time seeing if I need a pump to bell housing gasket 2004 4kzd
Thanks for another awesome informative video. How do you like the SST table fixture? They seem to be a quality and affordable piece.
I love the hook but i hate the hook fixture for the table. Loose and wobbly
