      +ChillUniversity One of the best shows i've ever seen, especially the first 2 seasons. Too bad foreigners can't have the best experience because they speak Finnish (English in season 3), but i'm sure there's Eng subtitles available.

    I had ~20 shroom trips before I took Ayahuasca in Peru. It's similar and will take you to similar places, but you will become very, very aware of your body, your past-eaten food, toxins, etc. This is why many people vomit, the ayahuasca seems to creep throughout the branches of your system, examining, studying, and deciding what to keep and what to discard. I purged the first few times, and the purges were always associated with feelings of psychological (not just physical) illness, but after a few times the purging stopped. That's when the most beautiful visions were had, stuff that would just overwhelm me in waves of indescribable emotion and beauty. There is a word we use a lot in the united states but too commonly to have the meaning that it is supposed to: awesome. Being completely humbled in the presence of godlike awe. You just can't imagine the art and beauty and powerful emotions that you will behold. They are absolutely extraordinary, and I often found myself lying on the ground unable to do anything but cry tears of beauty and joy.
    Ayahuasca teaches you how to live your life better. I came back to the US and started back at my job, around all the "normal" people, next thing I knew I ate meat and drank alcohol again, then I started to feel the afterglow (which can last weeks) fade. I need to go back to Peru, take the medicine again, and get my life straight once and for all and never change back to the sick way so many of us americans live.

    • @RamonNZ
      @RamonNZ 10 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I don't think that you should wait to go back to Peru to change. That's an illusion of tomorrow. Change happens slowly I've found. It's in your life now where you have to make the change. Stop drinking alcohol and eating junk food if you feel that's wrong, and start feeling what's right to do. There is no go back to Peru and get your life straight once and for all and never change back. That never happens, trust me. It is an illusion that will stop you doing what you need to do to make the changes now.
      Having said that your experience sounds very fortunate and insightful. Nice vision of the weeding out process of your system.

      Not exactly sure how I ended up here. I think I was enjoying some VNV Nation, and it led me here, I lost count how many times I've seen them live. Ronan is always getting the crowd hyped up. Anyhow, I had the opposite experience as far as the order goes. I did ayah about 10 times first, then shrooms a handful of times after that. I agree, they are similar in nature to similar places, and it is nature, but it takes a different route (root? hehe) and there's a different driver to that place.

    You can experience ayahuasca in Ecuador or Peru quite easily. The tricky part is finding a more traditional experience which is much better than some New Age version. The ayahuaquero in this video appears to be a very traditional one. Should be taken as deep in the rainforest as possible and after at least a day of fasting, preferably preceded by more days on a special diet.

Flashbacks of painfull memories and secrets in the subconcious would overwhelming if you didnt know it wasnt real but instead ur mind has just been opened up to everything its been supressing.

    I dont like to see ayahuasca sessions filmed. They cant really show more than 10% of what's really happenning there. Anyway it's good to see that these guys were really honest about how intense and personal the experience can be. I've done it twice and it's been the best and the worst things that have every happened in my life. It is something very serious that demands a lot of respect

    I hope these two suckers keep on wandering. I'm just watching them retch, crap and roll from the comfort of my home, and still I feel a vague sense of a greater grasp on reality through their encounters. This is entertainment, there's no escaping that, but still through the lines I can catch the strange feeling that there is more to the world than what we learn from the newspapers, the schoolbooks, and our well-meaning officials. Learning may hurt, as this clip tells us.

    I like how they are always objective with everything. Like they seem to be liberty oriented in their values, and they could have said that it was an awesome experience and western culture is stupid for not liking it. But instead they said that it wasnt the greatest thing, but it was an amazing experience and that the west should tolerate it. They seem like really honest people, we need more ppl like this in America.

    I've done this in my travels. Even here in Mexico made with Mimosa hostilis(the root) and Syrian Rue(MAO inhibitor). It is very powerful and amazing digital experience for me. The vomiting only lasted only a couple minutes approx 15 minutes after consuming it. I fasted for 10 hours before consumption because of the MAO inhibitor can react badly with certain foods. The total vision time was somewhere around 4-6 hours of intense night time visuals. I suggest real caution in making this

    Yeah when making tea with Syrian rue. I've been told that removing the tannins by using a gelatin powder will make it so you don't vomit. Or taking it in powder pill for in a a gell cap.. as it doesn't take much of it.

  • @shabaash
    @shabaash 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    Well, yes, clearly these people were not prepared for the experience, but I still contend that it is best to take ayahuasca in the traditional, time-tested way and in the traditional rainforest context. I would never consider taking it in North America out of context. And yes, it helps a lot if one has practiced mind yogas before the ayahuasca experience. In my six traditional experiences with shamans of four different indigenous traditions I never had a negative experience.

    I think maybe the best preparation a person coming from a western background could have for ayahuasca is buddhist calming and mindfulness meditation techniques. If one is well-prepared from meditation practice that mental experiences are "empty" ie non-substantial ultimately, the phenomena that appear during ayahuasca have less potential to be disturbing.

    The main guy who talked said it was a nightmare & the worstthing he ever went through. He kept throwing up a whole lot. why does it make you puke? He acted like he hated it when everyone else liked it. Don't understand? That would be soo agrivating having the shamans singing and hitting you with that broom looking thing. That would give you a really bad trip.. Plus how do you brush your teeth after puking? Laying on the hard ground would also give you a lot of pain & make the trip bad.

    I pretty much believe it is a poisonous plant & that is why you hallucinate & throw up. The shamans also would contribute to a person having a bad trip with their touching hitting with the broom thing & singing. I can see why it is illigal in America. The plant can't make you get rid of negitivity by purging. You would feel so glad to come down & feel even worse about yourself for doing this in the first place.
