    Shes soo good. She qualified top for floor and vault and off course to the AA final. She preformed at ALL the event finals and hit 15/16 routines and walked out of these championship s with 5 medals. Unbelievable. If it werent for that ACL injury she would have, without a doubt, definitely won the 2011 worlds and the AA at the 2012 olympics.

    Looking at the judges after the first pass (and during the entire routine) makes me so happy. One of the best routines ever, IMO.

    This routine, in my opinion, was not only the best routine of the championships, but of the entire quad--even better than Komova's in the AA.

      I disagree. Komova had better landings, more expression in her dance and her twisting form was beautiful.

      Same here! Alexandrov clearly was the one who implemented good choreography in Russian floor routines because once he left they just went down hill. And look at the Brazilian team they have great floor routines!

    I know, she is such a good and dedicated athlete. That and after not being on top of the world, she (at least to me) seems to appreciate the medals she wins. She was very very happy with a bronze on floor. Before, she would have just been O.K. with a bronze or even a silver on floor because she was so good. She's learned from that injury which is great

    This routine shows that Aliya should never be judged for podium training. It's a big mistake.

  • @NastiaFanNumba1

    This was a near perfect routine!!!! Im very impressed. I saw her all around, team and event finals and they were oustanding! I think Aliya will go VERY far in this world of gymnastics! This girl has got it all! Yeah, she has her flaws here and there, but what gymnast doesnt?! Props to Mustafina!

  • @mmilinca

    Watch her routine from the podium training, then this one. It's incredible. That's one of the things I love most about her.

  • @mht4908
    @mht4908 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    If it weren't for her ACL injury, it would've been the ultimate showndown between Aliya, Viktoria & Gabby in the 2012 AA. If everyone hits, Aliya would probably come out on top, but considering all consistency factors, especially her beam, it'll be harder to tell

    I rag on Musty for a lot of things, her shiteous twisting being first, but these landings are incredible. I was always impressed by how well she could stick a landing on floor when it counted.

    And yet after that injury with leaving her a little more than a year to recover, get back into shape, and get back to hard routines she won four medals at the Olympics!

  • @jloroman
    @jloroman 11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    For those wondering the deductions come from small form breaks...meaning her leg form. Most gymnast get that deduction. It's almost built in. The more twisting the more form deduction. And Mustafina is a twister. She only has one Somersault in this particular floor exercise. Most of you are right she has very clean execution overall and good landings. Only visible error is her Memmel turn. The drop of the leg before completing vertical is kinda a big deduction. Let's not forget her SV is only5.8

    @KVHolland3 I think Mustafina has a great chance. From what I have seen in the past weeks she keeps adding difficulty and its perfecting her routines with 2012 in mind. I say now is time to pick the skills that you are good at and keep practicing...She just needs to stay healthy.

  • @AmAxOReload

  • @triplefull368
    @triplefull368 13 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    @sqekcx Crossed legs can only receive a .1 deduction according to the Code of Points. Leg separations can only receive higher than a .1 deduction if they are greater than shoulder width, and even then only .3. Your argument would be valid if the Code of Points supported it. It does not.

    those people who say this is gorgeous has no eyes. her music might sound beautiful to you, but she barely had any expression on her face, and her form is ATROCIOUS. I've never thought this could be used to describe a gymnast's form but nabieva and mustafina have proven me wrong. it's a shame that only one tenth is taken for thigh crossing.

  • @msms68
    @msms68 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    one of the best gymnasts with this new stick landings thingy

  • @ShawnVikaKomova2012
    @ShawnVikaKomova2012 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @LCAmarkymark Sorry for the misunderstanding. A 2.5 (D worth .4) + a 1/1 laid out (C worth .3) has a .2 CV. .4 + .3 + .2 = .9. That's for the entire pass counting towards a D score.

  • @ShawnVikaKomova2012
    @ShawnVikaKomova2012 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @abctooeasy The double Arabian and double front are of the same difficulty. You could argue that the double Arabian is harder because of the half turn but it isn't because the double front has a forward take off. Like a front 1/1 twist is a C and a back 1/1 twist is a B. Forward take off and 1/2 turn cancel each other out. Also, a double Arabian is in a way a double front because in the CoP, is is awknowledged as a front pass and there are two saltos, so double front. Still different though.

  • @ASME0071
    @ASME0071 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @LCAmarkymark Sorry, I realised I made a mistake in my post so wanted to repost! I was just going to say that we have to be careful when adding on points for 'risk' and make sure a risky move is not just a poorly performed move. I do think that artistic value is being recognised in the code, that is why someone like Mustafina or Liukin will score much higher for the same moves than someone like Johnson. With the legs crossing when twisting, I really admire how the Americans perform their twists!

  • @Andrew-pf5fj
    @Andrew-pf5fj 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I think this is a tad underscored. She stuck all of those landings cold. The only deductions I can find are 0.1 on her 2.5 and triple for form, and 0.1 for lack of control and 0.1 for precision on her memmel. Anyone wanna help with the other deductions cause I don't see them lol.

    • @cesarebergossi
      @cesarebergossi 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Leg separation on the double arabian, bent knees on the full front, leg separation on the 1.5 front, and you also have to consider that judges always give 0.2/0.3 minimum for artistry, so i think the score is correct

  • @KVHolland3
    @KVHolland3 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    @LCAmarkymark Well looking back at 2009 videos she seems to be growing so that means she is fighting the growth...but the keys for her are probably avoid injury and keep consistency...I think as much difficulty as she has she dosen't want to become a victim of the lack of Difficult as we saw in 2008 from Russia. Perfection is great, but you need tons of difficulty too. Semenova, Pavlova, and Kramarenko experienced that in 2008...So she needs to keep ahead of the difficulty line.

  • @willsbob123
    @willsbob123 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    I believe that the Russian's are close to their best, if Nabieva and Mustafina carry on to 2012 and Komova does, too, then that's 3 6.5 D scores on vault in the team final. No one on the Russian team is amazing on bars except for Mustafina - this means that for 2012, two more gymnasts need to improve, or they will have new comers. Semenova can STILL give a good bar routine, I'd say at her best she could score around a 15.100? Beam is strong, new-coming gymnasts from Russia will set a task.

  • @LCAmarkymark
    @LCAmarkymark 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    @KVHolland3 This is true...Shannon Miller basically won her titles at this point in her career but Im not sure how this will pan out. I am going off of the way that scoring has been favoring power over grace. Mustafina will get heavier as she gets older but she will be able to keep the grace and and the harder elements....I think she could do a triple arabian...you never know. I just think Russia's juniors are doing well and are going to do some great things.

  • @TsubasaDreams

    She is such a complete gymnast, she reminds me of a Soviet (though that Y turn could use some work)

  • @KVHolland3
    @KVHolland3 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    @LCAmarkymark And Alexander Artemov (or whomever) said that they're looking for consistency and who can peform under pressure. I'd say Nabieva has shown she fails to peform under pressure. Dementyeva could grow badly as well if she gains weight she'll have a rough time. Komova even needs to work on her Endurance because at the YOG she was great in qual. and the AA, VT, and Bars. But then she failed Beam and floor and looked "tired". Plus we haven't talked about the chance of injuries.

  • @Jameshistory
    @Jameshistory 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    She kind of reminds me of the ukranian rhythmic gymnast Anna Bessonova. Both are very pretty and excellent dancers

  • @LCAmarkymark
    @LCAmarkymark 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @ASME0071 I can agree with that...for me I just don't think it matters as long as they complete the twist. I believe that crossed or not is a specific style chose of the gymnast..Mustafina crosses her legs Ghrisina doesn't cross her legs....its a choice or maybe harder for gymnast with certain injuries I remember when Khorkina didn't cross her legs and then 2003 lol...she was crossing them lol. Thats what I feel the FIG feels towards twisting.

  • @ShawnVikaKomova2012
    @ShawnVikaKomova2012 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @LCAmarkymark She hit it at the Tokyo Cup (?). She got a 15.55 somewhere. And there are plenty of high scoring passes. A 2.5 + 1/1 is worth .9 which is more than a G skill.

    @LCAmarkymark 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    @KVHolland3 I don't mean right now in her career. Maybe at the 2012 olympics...she is just so tight tucked when she does the double that she can fit another element in there. Dos Santos could but it wouldn't look so good. I just think with all this new talent Semenova will be pushed out before the 2012 Olympics

  • @ShawnVikaKomova2012
    @ShawnVikaKomova2012 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @KVHolland3 14 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    @wineformybetches Ok I'm sorry to everybody who thinks the Russians have a good chance in 2012...Russia is my favorite gymnastics country, but lets face it...
    1. Nabieva is already falling apart. She's unstable in her skills and mentally...
    2. Komova has two awful years of growing, and who knows she could've peaked this year in which she won't survive to 2012.
    3. Mustafina has most indefinatley peaked this year. She's going to go through the terrbile Russian phase in time for the Olympics.

  • @AgymnasticFAN
    @AgymnasticFAN 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    @sqekcx That was GORGEOUS lol! No gymnasts can be perfect but her landings were flawless. So she has form issues that are annoying but even the best gymnasts can have something flawed. No one is perfect unless they are a robot.

  • @ShawnVikaKomova2012
    @ShawnVikaKomova2012 13 ปีที่แล้ว

  • @LCAmarkymark
    @LCAmarkymark 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    fanstastic! I am so happy that she is doing so well. I am worried about her teammate Anna Myzdrivkova. Where is she at lol. I think Russia is the team to beat and they left competitors at home like Anna.

  • @13shifter
    @13shifter 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    i think she will win the all around. no offence to Rebecca and Aly / Mattie. she is just so much more graceful and eligant.

  • @abctooeasy
    @abctooeasy 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @PeachVampire94 Yes but to educate non gymnastics fan you have to be precise and teach them the difference because they are different tumbles. Nastia does a front double Aliya adds a half turn to it. A Arabian is a bit harder but the two skills are both rated the same "E". Non gymnastics fan would appreciate these technical differences. True knowledgeable fans would never say Aliya does a double front. Judges would credit her a Arabian not a double front. I don't like having people be misinform.

  • @abctooeasy
    @abctooeasy 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @PeachVampire94 Technically you are right but to be precise they are different elements and have different names. Nastia does a front hand spring double front (double front). Aliya does it from a back hand spring and does a half turn into the double front which is called a "Arabian" Not to sound rude or anything but you probably don't know too much about gymnastics technical stuff. Nastia = double front Aliya = double Arabian.

  • @LCAmarkymark
    @LCAmarkymark 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @ShawnVikaKomova2012 @abctooeasy great thing they are rated the same huh? Now they are equal lol. I don't know why the FIG made them the same but they are nothing we can do but wish they would grant connection values to dance elements so gymanst can have a higer d score on floor...can any one tell me of a gymnast that has a d score of 7 on the foor or even a 6.5..would like to see that routine.

  • @KVHolland3
    @KVHolland3 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    @wineformybetches
    4. Lets take a look at Dementyeva's body physique...when (not if) she grows, it'll be like Khorkina and the 2000 Olympic vault, except on all four events...
    5. Myzdrikova, Kurbatova, Semenova, and Afanasyeva weakend this year, there kinda still adjusting to being old gymnast and I'm guessing well be joined by Pavlova for being the Veterans.

  • @LCAmarkymark
    @LCAmarkymark 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @ShawnVikaKomova2012 well she can't hit it because the requirements for floor are too high and demanding..my point being that if a floor routine was going to be 6.5 to 7.0 range it would be the same basic moves, passes, and dance elements because there isn't enough F or G elements on floor compared to the other events...Mitchell once she gets this routine down will still be at a disadvantage because E scores for floor are also low.

  • @KVHolland3
    @KVHolland3 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    @LCAmarkymark No she's getting better, you should no better then to doubt the Russians, once they get over the whole slump after their first Olympics they become a timeless. The Russians haven't really had many Olympics where they don't have 1 or sometimes 2 veterans. You must be kidding right a TRIPLE ARABIAN...do men do that. That would be to risky...she could think of a Dos Santos. But she's putting her gymnastics career up for grabs if she ever attempted a TRIPLE ARABIAN.

  • @ShawnVikaKomova2012
    @ShawnVikaKomova2012 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @LCAmarkymark Oh haha the 2013 CoP is confusing. Score=Difficulty + Execution(2).

  • @abctooeasy
    @abctooeasy 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @PeachVampire94 I see your points, but Aliya does not do a double front.

  • @KVHolland3
    @KVHolland3 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    @LCAmarkymark Ummm maybe an over statment...Komova is amazing but that's about it Grishina could scrap up a spot but I don't think that's likley unless some of the Seniors get injured. I'm wondering if Mustafina is peaking to early. The Russians almost always peak at 16-17 then hit a terrible slump and then are good again by about 19.

    @KVHolland3 Oh okay. But back in 2010, Myzdrikova and Semenova both were in a slump, and Kurbatova was basically useless, besides vault. But I have some faith in Pavlova. She's too headcasey but she really is getting there.

  • @LCAmarkymark
    @LCAmarkymark 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @ShawnVikaKomova2012 .9 bonus...I thought it was only a .3..the highest connection values I have seen ever on floor was bross with .8 for the whole routine.

  • @100SLViks
    @100SLViks 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    KVHolland3 is forgetting Grishina, little Mustafina, Malikova, Sidorova.... *sigh*
    And the reason Komova was "tired" during EF in YO in Singapore was because her doping tests ( which were taken one day before EF!!!) took longer than expected for some reason...and she had to stay up till 2:00 am....

  • @LCAmarkymark
    @LCAmarkymark 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @ASME0071 I don't agree..gymnast for years have had crossed legs..even gymnast that are considered to be the best back in the 80's had crossed legs .1 is plenty since its hard anyway to get a high D Score as it is. Since you are say is dangerous and harder to do twist with crossed legs maybe the gymnast should get extra bonus for the risk factor? I guess you can consider it sloppy legs but really it doesn't matter in this code of points and neither does artistic vaule which this gymnast has.

    @LCAmarkymark I meant that she will never do a Triple Arabian. People always say she has a wonderful Arabian but she cowboys it a little and in Podium Training she fell (backwards) she has to tuck so much because she lacks height. How could the Dos Santos "not look so good" Ok next year we have Mustafina, Semenova, Afanasyeva, Kurbatova, Myzdrikova, Nabieva, Dementyeva, and Komova. That can probably challenge for a Worlds Spot. I'd say Myzdrikova's got pushed out and Kurbatova will be out.

    Or it might even only be a 5.7 if she didn't get credit for her Memmel turn. Either way, this was a great exercise. And a good score. That means they only found less than one point in deductions. Big deal in the last quad. Remember she usually performs a Stag Jump out of the Double Arabian to avoid deduction and for an extra .1 in CV and she didn't do that here. And I'm willing to bet they deducted her in her landing of first pass. The artistry and elegance are almost surreal here though!

    @KVHolland3 Where is this generalization comes from? Zamo was at her best at 18th, Sveta was world champion since 18th and on, Produnova and Pavlova were amazing at 17-18th. Teribble slump for Russians between 17-19? don't think so. It's totally individual without any coneection to where ur coming from..

  • @BackRowRacing98
    @BackRowRacing98 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Well there is a deduction for crossed legs, but I didn't think that deducted much and other than that, the execution was pretty much spotless, but I suck at determining scores, so who knows.

  • @foggycityguy
    @foggycityguy 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @LMA629 Like I said, there is nothing special about this routine; especially in 2010 with the floor equipment being its springiest. When you had gymnasts in the 80's doing double-doubles, it would only make sense that nearly 15-years later with a proper progression of difficulty, double-doubles would be an average element and triples would be common. BTW, I'm not sure what height has to do with technique, but many female gymnasts of today are stocky and muscular (hence, more powerful?).

    @wineformybetches Maybe not growing pains but maybe growing itself does...it's not like Semenova decided to gain weight in 2009...Zamo, Nabieva, and tons of other Russians go through huge mental complications...Mustafina might but I see her being in the same slump Semenova and Afanasyeva are in now...I hope Komova proves me wrong but I'll be shocked if she does. I would love the dream team too and I'll admit I prefer Semenova and Afanasyeva over all other Russians but I don't see it happening.

    Sorry, they aren't doing what I said anymore. They're doing some weird "Difficulty + Execution(2) - 10" or something like that.

    wait I actually do appreciate her. I appreciate her ability to stick. But this doesn't mean her fugly leg form should be tolerated.

    @LCAmarkymark Did I miss understand you you said you think she can do a TRIPLE Arabian...First lets see if there's women that can do triple saltos on floor in the first place...I just see unfortunatley that Dementeyva will end up growing badly...Semenova lost her status as a world class gymnast because she grew and it hampered her bars

    She had helicopter feet and she should have been deducted for that. Instead she was given huge numbers and blind fans like you appreciate her.

    @abctooeasy I'm not a Miss. Look above and you'll understand how they are the same. You said the double front is harder which is not true. You're very self-absorbed and won't listen to other people when they prove you wrong.

    Crossed legs. People distort it and decide her routines are ugly for her form flaws, but she's not the only one like Catalina Ponor and Nastia.
