One of the best contributions of composer Alan Menken, who thanks to the success of this film and the musical it's based on, would ultimately have him and this show's playwright/lyricist(and original director of the stage show) Howard Ashman join with Disney to work on the first three films of the Disney Renaissance(Little Mermaid, Beauty and The Beast, and Aladdin), and soon(after Howard's sad death from AIDS) Menken would continue to work on Pocahontas, Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hercules, Tangeled, and others, wining 9 Oscars, 11 Grammy Awards, a Tony Award, and Daytime Emmy Award!

Also, I know everyone is talking about Levi Stubbs and don't get me wrong, his voice is awesome, but Rick Moranis has got some really good pipes too! The way his voice carries so much hesitation and a tinge of fear is great, and I especially love the way he sings "I don't know!" at 2:53.
Pretty sure those didn’t exist in the 50’s(believe that’s when the story takes place)
And if they did, would probably be very strange what Seymour would say to the blood bank like “Oh, I need it for fertilizer”
why is nobody talking about how AudreyTwo's "Ahhh" sounds like Michael Jackson?
1:56
Because he doesn't 🤦
Lmaoooo
Lol ty
@@audreyll702 well, it’s true. I was actually scrolling through the comments to see if anyone else was talking about it
I watched this movie yesterday for the first time and I'm obsessed with this song
"Does this look inanimate to you punk?!" Gets me everytime
Two of the most incredible, performances in film musicals. ❤️❤️
3:31 love how he says Audrey
Sounds like a dolphin
“What do you want me to do, slit my wrists??”
“😃” lmao
I went to a play about the little shop of horrors, whoever was doing the voice for the Audrey 2 there was killing it! They had a really deep voice and it didn’t sound forced and they could sing in the voice too
This song is menacing and doesn’t need the music to be menacing. Not to mention the vocals are smooth like something smoother than butter. But the best part, the way Audrey 2 says phrases like “HOW BOUT THAT AAAAAAUUUUUDREY.” OR “MUST BE FRESH.” Just gives a insane tone to Audrey 2’s character.
You can do it!!!!❤ This is one of my favorite movies of all times I love Gina and Pam vocals in this joint are crazy! And Michelle weeks OMG their voices put together is soulful & magical❤ this movie is definitely a classic! All of the actors were great🎉 All three of them should have did a album😊
This film is just too good "Does this look inanimate to you, punk!" 😂
Anybody who loves the musical and knows all the lyrics has to have listened to this at LEAST 50 times
Lol popped the vcr tape
“Doesn’t this look inanimate to you punk”
I can hear Billy Porter’s voice so clearly! He’s gonna be perfect!
for 1986 the puppet on that thing is amazing
When you've watched this movie so many times, that you know this scene word by word 🤣
“Trust me and your life will shortly rival king tut’s!”
He wasn’t wrong.
Why does Hollywood insist on extremely expensive CGI, when there were talented practical effect artists who could make things like this? What about the original Alien? Certain elements of The Thing?
Exactly. Jim Henson was a master puppeteer. Essentially, this movie was done by Sesame Sreet. It was even directed by Frank Oz (Grover). CGI is a lazy cop-out
*FEED ME SEYMOUR*
*FEED ME ALL NIGHT LONG~~*
*YOU CAN DO IT*
@@okaywhattheflipdude That's right boy.
Pardon my french, but Levi Stubbs was FUCKING incredible as "Twoie." Rest in peace legend!
“Does this look inanimate to you punk!?” Lmao love it
The great Levi Stubbs was inspired casting in a great movie musical. Feed me indeed! 😋
Who’s willing to bet with me the remake won’t be as good
Prolly not unless they consider doing like the original but probably not but...if it's Disney THATS A WHOLE DIFFERENT STORY
I think the remake will be good as long as they use Puppetry for Audrey two instead of CGI
The Parrish Show it’s gonna be cg I’m almost positive
compherut
Considering how overused CGI is it’s almost guaranteed
compherut
My question is if they’re going to have the good ending or the bad ending
Not gonna lie, that plant scared me when I was young.
moxie girl but it's so cute
He looks like a piranha plant
I knew someone would have childhood trauma of this movie I watched It's pretty good
literally the way the plant moves is so freaking.... scary???? Idk honestly I just think about it a lot
for an extraterrestrial plant, his negotiation and persuasion skills are top notch. Despite most of it being mental manipulation.
😆 🤣 😂
I love the "tooling around like I was James Dean" line so much
"A little nookie gonna clean up those zits!" LMAO 3:47
One of the funniest lyrics in the song. I remember this because I had a plenty of zits when I watched this😂😂😂
@DA BOUL BLACKLUNGZ no, that definitely didn't clear up my zits😂 Good ole Noxima got my skin together😂😂
Audrey II:"Does this look inanimate to you punk?...If I can talk and I can move who's to say I can't do anything I want?"
Blows my mind that this plant is a animatronic/puppet and not CGI.
My group in music class at school
We have a singing assessment and where singing this....!!!
God save me
How did it go?
That sounds great
We're
i cant even watch clips of this movie without just becoming wholly interested in watching the movie. one of the only musicals i can stand, and also somehow one of my favorite flicks of all time (especially with the alternative ending which is fucking amazing if you havent seen it)
The practical affects in this movie look fantastic the plant 🌿 talks so realistic
Audrey 2: **Mood**
Seymour: **Palms Are Sweaty, Knees Weak, Arms Are Heavy**
I Had A Rough And Painful Reaction To Chinese Takeout Today, If The Person Who Liked My Comment Were To See This Reply I'd Like To Say Thank You For Bringing A Little Joy Back To My Morning.
@@LEGO2055 2 months late but, hope you felt better :). At least you weren't eaten by a hungry plant haha!
@@yourownmother9604 don’t be so sure about that 🍴
Audrey II's laugh at 3:18 is hilarious!
The lead puppeteer for this song is Brian Henson (son of legendary puppeteer Jim Henson). He currently serves as chairman for the Jim Henson Company.
I need to watch this movie cuz my high school is doing a production of this and my friends brother is playing Audrey II
This puppet is the most impressive thing ever. There where times when I thought it was a cgi remaster, like with the original star wars movies, but no, it was just that good of a puppet
When movies had original content and great acting... now it's just slow motion and cgi... an icon of movies. Salute.
Funny how Audrey II was weak and dying for being hungry but he had the energy to make about a 4 minute song is crazy
Tuey is one of the best villains from beyond this Earth. This is simply some fantastic animation, making em look like it's really there. Its motives are pretty simple, but the way of going about world takeover is surprisingly clever. And I dunno, maybe I'd be tempted to kill for it if it could sing that well!
It’s a puppet
Levi Stubbs did a good job on the plant's voice
God rest there souls.
Levi Stubbs is brill , but he does not get enough credit. SHAME RIP LEVI STUBBS
That plant singing smoother than a ice cube on some butter
Can you imagine watching this in the movie theater? Haha I love the 80s.
I love this movie!! I'm watching it right now and just realized not only is Gina from Martin in it, but also Pam as part of the singing trio. Great cast all around!! Steve Martin, Bill Murray, John Candy, Jim Belushi, Rick Moranis, etc. I've seen it about 15 times or more, one of my all time favorites!
so cool. my childhood.
helmut klein I fell in love with the show when I saw it off Broadway ; It was 1982 and Ellen Greene was Audrey.
It was rated PG -13
