Absolutely! 1000% agree with you! I’ve been playing Derivakat’s last album non-stop while doing chores and my parents (who know nothing about the dsmp) remember some of the lyrics and sing along if they’re not focused on something. They even said that the songs were really good and catchy!
just came back for a hit of nostalgia and oml, i was not dissapointed, these songs aged so well, even when the smp didn't... I wish we could go back without the hate... i miss it. all the different communities coming together, Qsmp has done well but Dsmp was the first.
I love how they are sort of paired up ; 2 Karl songs, 2 different POVs of the Battle for L'Manberg, Ghostbur song and Alivebur song and the Quackity chilling
I always felt like Night Before Dawn was about Tommy and Tubbo traveling to fight Dream for the discs, because it was mainly at night. The two of them together were the last of L’Manberg, even if it was completely destroyed. Everyone was lined up to wish them a proper farewell, and the two then went on to travel all throughout the night and arrived to fight Dream at dawn. But that was just my interpretation.
She can make it a little bit harsh tho she is always using a clear voice she can sing a little bit more dirty but i am happy about revived she is not doing this type of music very ussualy and i like this type a lot

derivakat is one of the most underrated artists, she make tons of songs every month, and if that isn't enough she makes diferents types of music, badass songs like revived, chill ones like 4AM or pop like Fireborn. Shesh!
I do agree once again Kat deserves everything, but she isn't underrated at all. Almost every song hits over 1 mil views, she has almost 500k subs and she got recognized by many dsmp members including Tommy, Tubbo, Ranboo, Karl, Sapnap etc. If you just meant she deserves more then alright, I agree with that. I love how this album feels darker or at least more mature in tone versus the first one. As the characters grow, so does this music and it’s so cool to see :D ALSO REVIVED IS SUCH A BOP I CANT GET OVER IT

The one thing I honestly enjoy about derivakat's songs specifically with casino Royale, and revived is that they integrate sounds that correspond with the setting or character it just gives the song a whole different feeling kind of making derivakat's music unique to me cause I don't really hear that alot.. and turn back time is also another one where the integration of sounds pulls the music together and makes the song more enjoyable to listen too. 😌

Can I just GUSH about the “night before dawn” record: as it represents Wilburs fall soon after the song being sung. Contrasting with the song itself the disk looks custom made and vandalised, Also the flag in the picture is the Manberg one (no lines to distinguish the colours). This was clearly done to contrast the song’s lyrics with its meaning. derivakat wrote it as a L’manberg song sung by Pogtopia pre fall/Red festival Wilbur who’s hanging onto hope. I can totally imagine him taking the disk a few days after recording it, taking it to the button room, and spray painting onto it as he’s rejected the values he once fought for.

What a rollercoaster of emotions. The slow tension built with Before the Dawn, the sheer epicness and action portrayed in Doomsday, the sadness and em emotion from Why, the terrifying and bass heavy reveal of Revived, and then the catchy movement of Casion Royal. All masterpieces strung together into a glorious record.

Idk why but I thought that the 2 to 3 means that is when the story get scripted? I just thought that write it down means they are scripting the story? Maybe heh?
I belive its about how when he goes to time travel memories get messed up or forgotten and he has to retrace everything back to a present time by writing it down and asking for peoples stories makes I easier so if he needs to rember he looks in his book!
I think one of my favorite parts of this album was the fact that doomsday, why, and REVIVED were all about techno, tommy, and wilbur respectively. its a cool little subtlety that i think shows how their “perfect” family has been ruined, each brother in their own way.
Doomsday was from the perspective of lmanburg, which is pointed to from the disc cover and the artwork used for the thumbnail/ lyric video. Why was written from the POV of Ghostbur after the war, which is why the artwork shows him crying overlooking the nation, with lyrics like “why? why did you lie? why did your words amount to nothing?” and “Phil, why?” maybe pointing to the fact that phil promised to not destroy lmanburg, ghost he’s home, but did it anyways, breaking their trust. just some things i noticed that i thought were interesting too, but i guess they could be from those perspectives too! i just like discussing music /gen
I loved the stark mood change from Why straight to Revived, it makes Revived have so much more of an impact than it already does. Loved all the songs on the album!!!

I always felt like Night Before Dawn was about Tommy and Tubbo traveling to fight Dream for the discs, because it was mainly at night. The two of them together were the last of L’Manberg, even if it was completely destroyed. Everyone was lined up to wish them a proper farewell, and the two then went on to travel all throughout the night and arrived to fight Dream at dawn. But that was just my interpretation.

The one thing I honestly enjoy about derivakat's songs specifically with casino Royale, and revived is that they integrate sounds that correspond with the setting or character it just gives the song a whole different feeling kind of making derivakat's music unique to me cause I don't really hear that alot.. and turn back time is also another one where the integration of sounds pulls the music together and makes the song more enjoyable to listen too. 😌

I used to only watch streams, then animations, but now my needs are officially fulfilled
Can I just GUSH about the “night before dawn” record: as it represents Wilburs fall soon after the song being sung. Contrasting with the song itself the disk looks custom made and vandalised, Also the flag in the picture is the Manberg one (no lines to distinguish the colours). This was clearly done to contrast the song’s lyrics with its meaning. derivakat wrote it as a L’manberg song sung by Pogtopia pre fall/Red festival Wilbur who’s hanging onto hope. I can totally imagine him taking the disk a few days after recording it, taking it to the button room, and spray painting onto it as he’s rejected the values he once fought for.
This fandom is so talented in every aspect, including MUSIC. I love being stuck here sometimes :))

What a rollercoaster of emotions. The slow tension built with Before the Dawn, the sheer epicness and action portrayed in Doomsday, the sadness and em emotion from Why, the terrifying and bass heavy reveal of Revived, and then the catchy movement of Casion Royal.
All masterpieces strung together into a glorious record.
The amount of emotions that I feel listening to "Night before Dawn" "Doomsday" and " Why " is just incredible

The Karl ones could be a framing device for the album, too. He's the one who's telling about all these people and perspectives on this album.
I belive its about how when he goes to time travel memories get messed up or forgotten and he has to retrace everything back to a present time by writing it down and asking for peoples stories makes I easier so if he needs to rember he looks in his book!

I think one of my favorite parts of this album was the fact that doomsday, why, and REVIVED were all about techno, tommy, and wilbur respectively. its a cool little subtlety that i think shows how their “perfect” family has been ruined, each brother in their own way.
you could also say “why” is from the perspective of new lmanberg as a whole (lol) but i like the tommy idea haha
Doomsday was from the perspective of lmanburg, which is pointed to from the disc cover and the artwork used for the thumbnail/ lyric video. Why was written from the POV of Ghostbur after the war, which is why the artwork shows him crying overlooking the nation, with lyrics like “why? why did you lie? why did your words amount to nothing?” and “Phil, why?” maybe pointing to the fact that phil promised to not destroy lmanburg, ghost he’s home, but did it anyways, breaking their trust.
