  • Welcome to a super fun and powerful commander deck this week with Obeka. This has been a cool deck that is sure to over power your opponents if given the chance. I hope you have a great day!

I love the unintentional headcanon result of this is that a time splitter becomes king/queen and interracts with doctor who xD

I'm using initiative spells. Every upkeep you move into dungeon. You can put counters into Obeka and play creatures for free. Is amazing

So if I have her attack with a sword attached, maker her a 4/7, and she hits, I get 4 additional upkeeps?

Yep, important to remember that upkeep does not include the untap and draw, only really for any upkeep triggers

Thanks for info about Obeka and how this card can dominate

I built the original Obeka and it was so much fun. I have to build this one and there are some great cards here for me to add.

Worth noting that Infinite Hourglass time counters DO NOT fall off unless someone pays to remove them.

Herald of Leshrac says "you have no more friends!"
Also braid of fire is fun

Don't forget! Tamiyo's Journal is a free tutor every single turn so long as you connect with somebody!
Also, Braid of Fire is not great for this deck because you lose all that mana at the end of each of those upkeep triggers!

The problem with infinite hourglass is that your opponents will benefit from the increased time counters before you do. This will cause problems unless you include a way to deal with their massive creatures.

    Where do you get Obeka?

Maybe I'm cooking to much but what if you use an ability to make her hit with her toughness

I love that idea. I’m not sure what card to add because it’s typically a green thing but if you can make it work go for it. Have a great day!

@LostPlaneswalker as I did research on it its difficult to do without her already having defender

I wonder why no one is talking about Initiative.

I didn’t even thing about that. You’re totally right! I hope you have a great day!

Personally I just hate the mechanic so I avoid Initiative

descent into avernus will kill you just as quickly as your opponents. not a great include unless you wanna use it last minute if you know youre gonna lose before your next turn

The biggest problem with decent is that the gap between being a dead man and living gets larger with every trigger. Like yhe difference between 5 triggers and 6 is 12 damage, if your opponent is sitting at 32, you need to be at 43 and up to not get blasted into the stratosphere.

Playing this definitely immediately makes you the Archenemy with Obeka in the wings. It would be an objectively hilarious way to speed up the game though. Like I'm imagining:
      T2: Lightning Greaves
      T3: Descent
T4: Descent deals 2 damage to all. Play Obeka. Equip greaves. Swing. Two more descent triggers. Deals 4 and then 6 damage to all. Suddenly the game is on a very quick clock and people need to remove Descent and/or Obeka or odds are everyone is dead the next time your turn comes up, because then descent will deal 8,10,12 to everyone, nearly guaranteeing t5 will end the game.
