Hi. Great videos. Just wondering if as an owner builder whether your permitted to make your own trusses? I'm in NSW. I have a fairly small extension which extends the roofline straight out 5m.
Hi John, All trusses have to be designed and passed off by a Structural Engineer so itis more economical to have a frame and truss company do them for you. If the roof rafters would not have to span the whole 5m you might just be able to use LVL or similar.
Hi mate, thanks for your comment. The pitch of the roof/truss can be anything really, although generally between 10 to 30 degrees. The only reference to bays would be the area that the truss span over however it is not a term that is used very often here.
+Raghavendra V.L. Hi Raghavendra not sure how this question relates to this video however whenever we take a level we are comparing it to another point to establish the difference in height.

Thanks, I have gone for pre fab trusses. They are actually cheaper than I thought they'd be.
great video..could you just tell what is the span to rise ratio used generally and what are bays related to trusses.

@@Buildsum Thanks for the info bro...do you have any knowledge of analysing trusses in staad.pro
Hi Mate, sorry no I have never heard of staad.pro
Thank you sir
i'm sorry but i gotta ask this question, after taking the level what do we need to know, why should we take the data

thanks.
Where's the king and queen post..
Hi Alvin
King and Queen Posts are a types of trusses not part of every truss. In a King or Queen post truss the post is essentually part of the web.
