Manual DPF Regen with Xentry DAS! 2007+ Mercedes Sprinter

- In this video, Mike shows you how to your Xentry DAS to force a manual DPF regeneration. The diesel particulate filter clogs often and can be a source of problems. If replacement is not an immediate option, here's how you can force a regeneration to get you back on the road again! This process should work for Dodge, Freightliner, and Mercedes-Benz Sprinters from the years of 2007 and onward.

Drove school buses in Austin for many years & when new buses came in requiring DEF & regen always coming up it's a pain !
thanks. i have a 2008 sprinter and my turbo to resonator hose keeps popping out (the donut specifically) when i try to reach highway speeds. no idea what is going on or how to fix it, but your vids have been helpful today.
The DPF is usually after the catalytic converter and before the SCR if your vehicle is equipped with one (yours is not because of its age).

I have a 2018 Sprinnter 2500 4x4 recently had a check engine light come on and when I checked the codes it said something about an NOX sensor downstream I changed the sensor. Took out for a drive and did an active region on the highway after I did it I received a 10 starts left message. Any help ?
What software/equipment are you using for this regen?

I will have a video on it soon how to get soot content to zero, I had mine always quitting on my during PDF force regeneration but I found a way to still clean it
The DPF was too clogged Mercedes charged the previous owner exorbitant amounts of money and never even checked the DPF. Van was deleted and moved on to a new owner
May I ask? What software are you using? Where can you get it? Mine is a 2007 2500 3.0L

I own a sprinter 519 v6 now I was told for this not to happen put a bottle of dpf cleaner every 10000km to keep it clean only way to go or if you do hiway driving no need for any additives

nice video. I was wondering I saw there was an option for tyre size, is that something you are able to change in the software? I have larger tyres and would love to be able to recalibrate the speedo
When I played with that option it didn't seem to make any difference and was very limited with only two size options, 15 and 16 inch wheels. However other folks have told me it worked for them. My 2005 with stock tires always ran 76 on the GPS when the dash showed 82. Now that I have bigger tires the speedo is correct to the GPS and the odometer is off by 7%.

Try Tuneap dpf cleaner, its tested and approwed by german tuv and is also enviromental freindly. Good luck

What would cause a P0101 code with key on engine off? What is the computer looking for when there’s no air flowing?
P0101 is a generic code and completely meaningless. The van did not produce that code, like a word not in its vocabulary. So the code reader is miscommunicating some other unknown code.
@@FloridaVanMan would there be a reason why the computer would trip a generic code and not a Mercedes code. I’m not getting any DTCs on the Mercedes’ side. But the van is still in limp mode.

I have a 2013 sprinter I have to bring in to a shop for a Regen, if you could share the software you are using you’ll be helping a lot of people here including me! If you don’t want to shared is fine!

Are 2011 freightliner reliable?
Not bad but not my choice. Any earlier Sprinter will not have DEF issues like the 2011 and later.
bring it to a shop that has a high pressure cleaning machine. replacing it would be very expensive.

@@FloridaVanMan And power. It's not just the Sprinters, my mate's a diesel mechanic, if you are doing lots of motorway driving, no problems, stop start around towns, big problems. They're supposed to be good for 100K, he's had taxi driver in at 30 - 40K and the manufacturers don't want to help, they're a joke on light commercials and cars
At 253k, I am well over the expected life span of a singular diesel particulate filter. As someone who wants to put a lot of miles on, I can't see myself buying one every 100k.
@@FloridaVanMan Wurth do a DPF treatment, it might be worth a go however, as I said, my mate's a mechanic, he's seen them fail on taxi's at 30 - 40K.... Aha!!!! I've seen your project before. We've never swapped the T1N motor into anything else....but we'd be willing to try and help you answer your questions anyway. It has a Sprinter ECU and cluster in it right? one condition; you've got to bring it to us or let us check it out one of these days....
Florida Van Man it would be a cross country trip haha, but i used sprinter ecu and cluster( basically everything from sprinter). I’m getting this problem with the turbo, codes p2025-001, p2013-001 and p2243-001. It seems to me that the actuator arm is really far down and I get a constant hiss but when I unplug the boost sensor on the charge air pipe the arm goes up and it sounds completely different. I should mention I do not have the sensor that was on the air box plugged in. Thanks for your help
@@dieselkumar6451 The P2025 code is turbo related and and might be caused by the other problem. The P2013 is all about the sensor you don't have connected, so start there. Even if you can't put it in the air filter, secure it nearby. I imagine one could put it in the end of the cone filter but be careful about dirt leaks obviously. That might clear both codes, but if it does not my next steps would be verify voltage changes at the MAF (see our video). I suspect that cone filter is preventing the MAF from getting a good read, but others have had good experiences where I have not. If you do not get voltage changes similar to seen in our video try taking the filter off. Don't drive it with no filter, but testing for voltage while parked shouldn't suck up dirt. If the MAF voltage changes check your turbo clocking (see our video). It costs nothing to check it, if you don't loose the spring clip. P2243 I believe is a communication error between the key chip and ECM/SKREEM. This one may be a low battery start and just need to be cleared. -Bill

@@dieselkumar6451 Intake Manifold Pressure Sensor aka MAP is the one that belongs on top of the air box. Some places call it the Air Intake Pressure Sensor and it looks similar to the Boost Pressure Sensor, but it's different.

No, our T1N Sprinters don't have DPF. It's an NCV3 problem.

Ours came as a kit, HDD and interface to OBD & round. I've seen them on eBay but not sure where Mike got his. It was too long ago to find back.
