    Interesting. I presume you'd be able to perform grander rendering feats as the render resolution is smaller than average, I mean your style is 'simplistic' it seems, but you could really make something real unique out of that. I've heard that Probuilder is used for layouts because apparently everything is done on the fly or something, so building without turning these into proper models then lowers performance I think. Nice to see where this goes.

    • @BitByteBit_
      @BitByteBit_  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep! The great thing about this style is you can use low poly models and it works really and allows us to do a lot more! As I’ve been using Probuilder I luckily haven’t seen any performance issues so far, but I’ll do an update if I run into anything! Thank you for the tip about converting them to models! I’ll definitely try that out! Thanks!

    I'm obsessed with this visual style. I keep finding myself getting used to thinking of it in 2D and then the camera moves and I go "oh shit yeah that's awesome"
    One note on the video - make sure you're balancing audio levels correctly. your intro and outro music are way louder than your mic

      Thanks! That’s a great idea! I’ve been thinking of throwing in some more story/mechanics devlogs where I focus more on ideas of the game instead of implementation/adding new things. I’ll try it out and see what everyone thinks! Thanks for the suggestion!

      All jokes aside, we have some awesome systems and mechanics in store. With that being said we are working on making them intuitive to work with, extendable, and manageable. Lots of custom editor scripts and management going into it. We are working on a core mechanics video hopefully shortly!

    If I can offer a piece of life advice? No matter how many views you get, remember you don't really owe us anything. You can work on games, make videos, or just drop it all and focus on your life. Too many devs get themselves burned out by feeling the demand of running a YT channel. Best wishes!

    Eager to see more about the project.

    • @BitByteBit_
      @BitByteBit_  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! I actually went back and forth on the terrain system and Probuilder for a while. I settled on Probuilder because I was going more for a simplistic(less textured) style that was a little easier for me to use with all of the shaders that I'm using. You could definitely accomplish something similar with the terrain system as well, but I just ended up really liking the Probuilder workflow! 😄Thank you for your question!

      Thanks for asking! The base pixel shader I am using is Pro Pixelizer which you can get off of the Unity Asset Store! Keep in mind I had to change/modify/write some of my own shaders to get this exact look, but overall it is a great base to start with for a lot of different pixel art styles!

      @@superfunnypranks463 Not that I have found! Another game that I know of that used Probuilder is Tunic, and that game performs very well! If you are going for a full on open world the Unity terrain system is probably better, but in my case the areas will be split up into chunks, so Probuilder works better for what I need it for! Wow you're severely underrated you should definitely have more subscribers for how talented you are this is amazing. If it's okay I would like to make suggestions for what i would personally like. Maybe some wildlife perhaps. I love wildlife in video games especially custom ones that aren't in the real world. It feels magical I do also like seeing real world animals too, It also makes it feel like you're exploring somewhere on earth but for this game i don't think it would have as good of a feeling depending on what the game would look like in the future. I really like the static-y look it makes it feel like a retro game that you'd see alongside games like the Nintendo 3DS games or PlayStation 3 Games with a nostalgic but still enjoyable feel.
    Sorry for writing a paragraph 😔

    Really love the artstyle, ......... that's about it. The only problem i think you might face is probably convincing people to play your game as the art style used in your game does not necessarily appeal to all but other than that. Good luck on your journey. Look forward to play the game when its out.
